Re-Discoveries

It had been a long time, well, a long time for this certain individual. He wasn't entirely sure just what he had signed himself up for, all he knew, is that they were looking for heroes, and well, his new body, his new mindset was pushing him crying out to him to step up into the position that would be called a 'hero'.

The bright white hedgehog, garbed in a black, tight outfit, a circle design on the vest top. Made his way into the 'Training Dome'. After all, he hadn't quite tested out just what state his powers were in. His boots clanked off the floor as he made his way inside.

"Well... this is, new.." And well, it was, he had never experienced anything like this, so much technology around him, and well, no one around just yet to help him out. He wandered back and forth in the large, open area, he eventually found himself face to face with a large computer. And, technology wasn't this hedgehog's strong suit, after some looking, tapping and hopeless typing, the area began to change, the terrain becoming that of a large, green field, irregular rock formations forming in random areas, random rocks, patches of water among other environmental happenings forming. 

"Uh... I'm just gonna..." Vega began to take some steps back from the computer carefully, before SPLASH! Vega found himself backing directly into a shallow patch of water, his spikey spines lowering down over his face as he was soaked. He grumbled slightly, trying to get up...


Hopefully, someone would give him some assistance... or, hopefully they would without seeing him soaked by his own environmental creation..

"Ohohoho~! Aren't you just the CUTEST!"

Stood behind this hedgehog, just on the opposite side of patch of water, was a griffon! An incredibly garish and bright griffon. Her fur was completely white like a dove, and the only colour that replaced it was the colour pink. Pink eyes, pink beak, pink highlights at the tips of her feathers. Dark pink hair that reached her rear, with a lighter pink heart ribbon upon it. A bright pink dress littered with hearts. Pink gloves. Pink high heels. Pink lipstick. Pink eyeshadow. She stood out like a sore thumb with this mass of girly pink clothing, and she revelled in that attention fondly.

The woman had her hands on her hips, giving a bright and amused smirk. She'd just wandered in, noticing that another person was planning on utilising the training dome. And she had been meaning to herself for a while! After all, fighting was her forte! Sadly, this cute hedgehog had blundered up the technology with his own confusion, and she couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh you've made such a biiiiiig mess, you naughty boy!" she teased, pressing a finger against her own chin as she puckered her lips, "Do you need any help from a gorgeous, strooong woman like me, handsome?~"

Vega's attention was certainly caught, looking over his shoulder to be met with probably the pinkest, girliest attire he had ever seen. Before he could even question the outfit choice, he eventually got up to his feet, standing ankle high in the water, his spines still ringing and his clothes damp.

"I'm... fine I....Uh." Vega wasn't entirely sure how to react, the combination of humiliating himself, the shockingly pink garbed griffon, and the... over the top flirting left him a bit dumbfounded.

"Erm... I'm guessing you're another guild member?" He would say, still shaking water off of himself, his spines eventually flicking back up to their natural position, honestly, he would have said anything to get off the topic of his own mistake.

"Oh you can bet your cute face that I am~! OHOHOHO!" she shrillfully responded with her signature laugh. Maxie gave a dramatic twirl with her arms outstretched, finalising it with an aggressive CLACK of her heels against the floor and a smug grin on her face. This was clearly a person who just loved to show off. "The name's Maxie, sweetie - don't forget it! And I'm ONLY the most fabulous, most talented, most adored girl in this entire building! Bar! NONE!"

Walking around the pool of water, with a sultry sway of her hips, she stopped before him yet still uncomfortably close. Raising a pink gloved hand, she gently booped him on the nose, "Now hon, since you're here and I'm here... alone..." her voice lowered, hands raised to rest lightly against her shoulders, "...how about we..." her half-lidded eyes fluttered seductively, "....fight each other? I haven't sparred with a cute boy like you in sooo looong~"

Vega's expression shifted, hearing Maxie go off on a self-appreciating little rant. His eyebrow couldn't possibly raise any higher than it already was, he had met some colourful characters in his time, and she was definitely up there.

"Well, I'm Vega, and I.." Before he even had a chance to say much else, he was being approached, his right foot shifting back a little, as she kept getting closer... okay....Why was she getting closer?? He then was booped upon his nose before... wait... alone... that tone...oh no. His face turning from the bright white of usual to a red, flaring colour... he was never good with these situations... "W-Woah I d-..." Oh....fight. Yeah, that's, totally what he was thinking too.

"Uh... fight. Yes, uh, right!" He shook his head some, trying to get back in a reasonable state of mind, eventually managing to get a smirk on his face, he did enjoy a good battle after all! "Alrighty, don't take me lightly!" Hah... yes he totally made a light pun on purpose, even chuckling to himself under his breath.

"Fantastic~!" She casually raised her wings.

And then the woman exploded.

Okay. She didn't explode. There was no smoke or fire. It was more the air around her immediately pushed outwards in a loud, forceful gale, blowing back everything that was around her. As soon as she'd flapped them, this unnatural burst had occurred around her. Now Vega was a big boy, and it certainly wouldn't knock him clean off his feet and send him flying. But there was still the possibility of being staggered - perhaps more from the immediate surprise of it more than anything. After all, she'd been up close and personal - she wanted him to get a teaser.

On the plus side, this gust of wind would get rid of any excess water on his fur.

She stayed in place, her sultry smirk still refusing to leave her face despite her immediate action. Flirting was all good and fun, but she loved to fight. This person had obviously entered the training dome to initiate combat, and Maxie had leapt at that opportunity. Let's see what this boy is made of.

"Alright, Vega, honey..." she took a tiny hop back. Despite now being in a fighting situation, her body wasn't tense and prepared - it was loose and elegant. Her wings were raised, her lion tail swayed, and she swung back and forth on her heels, "I hope you won't go easy on me just because I'm a giiiirl~!"

Odd, though. She didn't seem to have any weapons on her. She didn't look like a physical fighter either.

Vega was instantly met with a big burst of wind, his eyes widened, the initial shock pushing him back a good few feet. However, he kept his feet planted on the ground, helping him stay upright and strong.

"Alright, its been a while.." He took a glance up, seeing the environment around them provided a perfect source of light, all be it artificial. He would grin, the bright light from the sky flowing down onto his body. "Haaah!" He would let out a small battle cry, his body being enveloped in a bright white aura, his eyes turning determined as he looked ahead at Maxie.

"I never go easy." He said, grinning as his aura gave a small burst, sending his own gust of wind from his body, or, it more more akin to an aftershock, the atmosphere catching up with the shift of energy and light.

As light enveloped the room, Maxie took another hesitant step back just to observe. Normally, she'd rush in and attack immediately. After all, giving your opponent a chance to rest and set-up is a no-go when you're trying to take victory. But she at least gave herself the pardon that she wanted to watch what his abilities were - it WAS a sparring match and she didn't want to be too brutal on him.

So he was capable of manipulating light? Before she had time to ponder what that could entail, a shockwave of aura was sent her way. She partly shielded herself with her wings, raising herself up and finally taking flight after having stood for so long.

"Mmm... like a true gentleman~" she purred at his challenging words. Maxie was a close-combat fighter, and she planned to quickly close the distance made between the two! With another flap, she twirled her body in a corkscrew motion, immediately flying towards him with a loud THWOOM of wind behind her! It was clear that this amount of speed in such short time was unnatural - she had her aerokinesis to push her body to move even faster. As she approached, as her body twirled, she angled herself to launch a forceful momentum-powered kick right into his rightward shoulder.

A kick with those incredibly sharp high-heels, mind you, using the heel itself as the piercing needle. She wanted to get a good strike in there to disable one of his arms early, and her plan was to shut him down as quickly as possible. Whether that would succeed was another matter entirely. After all, the griffon still didn't know of his capabilities.

Now Vega, was not a skilled close combat fighter. He looked up to see Maxie fly towards him at breakneck speed. He gritted his teeth, he didn't want any part of that. He had to move. But she was travelling FAST. He had little room to make more distance, instead managing to step to his left in order to just barely miss the intimidating kick.

This would leave the two in close quarters, and Vega had to do something to make a gap here, he clasped his right hand, raising it up in front of Maxie's chest as his palm began to glow in a bright light, before quickly unleashing a small wave of energy generated by light, he could only hope that her speed wouldn't out-do his attack here.

As he fired off his attack, his feet grounded into the floor, hopefully, her could back her off, and maintain some sort of position, of course, if he fails, he could be in for a world of hurt.

As Vega's beam fired off, thankfully Maxie's momentum was fast enough to fly past it... mostly. The blast managed to singe her tail as it trailed with her, earning a rightfully deserved wince from the hybrid. The little pink heart bow that was tied onto her tail fluff was torn off in the attack, slowly drifting to the floor.

However, that little step to the side did allow Vega to be free from her immediate attack. That vicious indent of her heel wouldn't be happening so early on, it seemed. Her forward movement continued... until it didn't. She raised her wings, using them as a buffer to halt her speed a small distance away from him, though the force of the momentum continued past her in a blast of wind.

A blast of wind that she manipulated like putty. Upon landing with a single foot, the woman gave a graceful pirouette. Like the tides of the ocean, the invisible force then receded and followed her movements, flowing around her form. And with this came the all-familiar sound of the howling wind.

That continued, and expanded outwards from this twirling woman... until she started picking up leaves from the arena, rocks, twigs. Around her was a small tornado.

She stopped spinning and fell into an elegant handstand, her legs kicking towards him. Which, in turn, threw this tornado right at him in one big push.

The thing was, despite being a close-combat specialist, she equally couldn't afford him to land a hit on her. She was a small, fragile thing. A glass cannon. She was fast, she hit hard, but when things struck back it hurt. If that blast had connected with her chest, he would have easily been able to take the advantage in the brawl. Maxie had to be careful - one wrong move and this fight would no longer be hers.

Before Vega could even revel in his slight connection of his blast, he was met with the sight of Maxie starting to kick up a tornado with her movements. His eyes widened, a tornado?! He quickly took a breath, taking a leap backwards as the air current generated from Maxie's dive towards him pushed him back firmly, using the time she was whipping up this massive obstacle to his advantage..

"Haaaaaah!" Vega began charging more energy, absorbing more and more light into his body, his aura bursting and building higher and higher until the tornado was flung directly at him. He extended both arms ahead of himself, his palms open and releasing a much bigger beam from both hands, directly at the tornado, hopefully, to either stop the attack, or pierce through, depending on the tornado's power.

However, he was focussing a lot into this attack, not only was he using a lot of energy for this beam, but he was also locked into this position as he was firing.

As soon as she threw this twirling mass of wind at him, the woman immediately took to the skies. She couldn't stay in place for too long - she was an active fighter. Staying in place meant the possibility of your opponent getting the upper hand. As such, she immediately flew at him again to nullify the distance between them, her body cutting through the tornado she had created like butter.

She reached into the fabric of her chest and pulled out a small metal rod, roughly the length of say, a book. There seemed to be nothing special about it, bar a single button upon the surface of the metal. Gripping it tightly, she thrust it forward like a rapier, intending to press the blunt end against Vega's head.

Now she wanted to do a specific set of moves here.

What she was planning on doing was to click that button as the metal end pressed against the head. Whether it connected or not, she was still going to press it. And from that rod would come a series of clicks and fast extensions. Click click clickclickclkclkclk until... it was a pole. A long, extended metal pole. And, of course, both sides of the pole extending outwards mechanically? That'd certainly push him backwards for some quick cranium damage. It was one of her favourite moves to unveil her weapon and usually caught people by surprise. She called it an extension attack.

In addition, she also wanted to continue moving her body as her weapon did this, her heels then pressing against Vega's shoulders. As it extended, she'd kick off him and launch herself into the air once more, using his flesh body as a platform for her agile moves.

Of course, this was her getting very up close and personal. And being that close allowed counterattacks if he were prepared. It was the perfect opportunity to strike back, but she hoped that the beam he'd fired off would negate that potential.

Not to mention, there was a chance this may all not even work. It was a risky attack, but she was going for it.

As for the beam itself? Indeed, the attack had sliced through the tornado like it were nothing, though not quite hitting the one responsible for it. Leaves, rocks, all those tiny projectiles were eradicated by the light blast. And while the tornado was vicious, it was short-lived, for his attack had managed to dispose of it by cutting a 'hole' right through the trajectory, allowing it to disperse and pass through him as if it were nothing. Maxie gave a tiny grunt of frustration.

Vega, was of course caught off guard, more focussed on defending himself from the oncoming tornado, only realizing there was a metal object being driven towards his head after the tornado was dissipated. 

"Nh!" He would move his hands, his beam finally cutting off as he grabbed hold of the stick-like weapon, holding tight as it stopped right before making contact with his head, making him breath a sigh of relief.

Although, he was still wide open, and should the attack continue, he would probably still be in trouble, his grip remaining firm as he quickly tried to charge up some more energy.

"How rude!" Maxie playfully exclaimed as Vega caught her attack, a loud huff escaping her beak. Despite that, she was still grinning from the adrenaline through her sistem, "Don't you know that you should NEVER grab a lady by her weapon?"

Still holding onto her metal pole and being a few inches from his face, the griffon raised her foot and threw it forward to kick him square in the face.=, if only to stun him a little and also to have him let go. Saying that, she was just using the flat side of her heels. She had no intention of actually lodging the piercing heels into his skin.

And kicked he was. Right between the eyes, sending him reeling backwards. He would grunt in a short burst of pain before shaking his head. He managed to keep grounded, not being knocked off his feet quite just yet as he regain his blurred vision, looking up to the rather intense griffon.

"Manners have never been my strong suit." He said, a grin on his face as he realized, if he was going to stand a chance, he had to at least try and do what he could in close quarters, slowly focussing his energy with what little time he was given, his hands glowing a bright white as they were coated in a bright burst of aura, almost like boxing gloves of sheer energy.

"Let me show you what is my strong suit!" He said, hastily jolting back forward, only just regaining his vision and composure as he swung a hard right directly back at Maxie's face.

With the kick allowing a space between them, the woman regained her position, turning her body to face him, her weapon prepared and ready in her hands. She grinned, cocking her head as her opponent approached. She remained on the floor, and her body swayed side to side, that blade twirling in her hands. 

If he wanted to fight in close quarters? Then so be it! The griffon raised her wings as the hedgehog rushed forward with a light-infused punch. The sheer magnitude of the energy caused her to blink and take a step back. With it coming her way, she raised her halberd with both her hands, just barely catching the path of the punch with the pole. She wouldn't want that hitting her face.

With the aura, and with the force of the swing, there was a resounding groooaaan from the metal of her weapon. her eyes widened with surprise. With both her hands occupied preventing the first attack, the realisation hit her in that second that she wouldn't be able to defend from anywhere else. A stupid mistake on her part.

Vega's fist connecting with the pole, the noise, and of course, the resounding shockwave caused a brief pause, the air around them bursting out into different directions, the ground even slightly cracking beneath their feet as pebbles and clumps of earth would blast off in different directions.

It was after this brief pause, that Vega's left leg would ignite with the very same light of which his hand did, after the ignition, he would viciously swing his left leg towards the side of her abdomen, seeing as that area was under the defensive position of the pole. One could only begin to ask though, how much of this light power does he have? And how much has he used already?

Vega's light-infused kick struck the avian woman with a resounding WHAM! The breath was immediately knocked out of her with that single strike to her stomach, and her grip on her weapon lessened. A loud gasp left her shaken lips as she staggered back, heels clacking against the ground with each firm step to balance herself.

One step. Two steps. A hand fell from her weapon to grasp her stomach, gripping at the pink fabric. Breathe. Breathe.

"H-hahh.. hah... ahah... you... ruffian..." she mumbled under her breath, gulping away the sharp pain to force herself to keep going. It was only one hit, but a few more and she'd be down for the count. This boy was tough, and that wasn't even a proper hit. The collision with his fist and her weapon caught her off guard, and she wasn't prepared to take that to the face. 

"Mmm... I can see why they accepted you into the guild, honey..." she purred, taking her hand away from her abdomen. She twirled the weapon in her hands again, forming a small gust of wind around her feet, billowing her dress lightly. Despite her tone, there was a playful smirk on her face. He'd won her respect, now she had to not make a fool of herself to have him lose it for her. She took another step back, her head raised. "Think you can... hh... keep it up?~"

Vega took a minute to let his attack sink in, regaining his footing as he looked over to the woman as his lips curled into his own confident smirk. He would pause himself completely, feeling his own power draining from the barrage of light attacks he had been using. 

He looked over, noticing the avian was still recovering from his last hit, thus he took a glance to the sky, noting the bright sun above them as he silently began to recharge his energy, small particles of sun rays flowing down into his body as he looked up, hearing her speak.

He would instantly raise an eyebrow at her, Keep it up? Was she, mocking him? He grunted, his feet practically breaking through the ground under him. "Me? I'm perfectly fine, you however? This is only the tip of iceberg, don't tell me I've pushed you over the edge already hm?" Okay, where did THAT come from. Sure, he was confident before, but he wasn't taunting, or brash, it seemed a good fight brought out this side of him. 

He grinned after his statement, the particles of light still slowly draining down into him, filling his energy at a slow pace, he wanted to draw this out for as long as possible, so rather than attacking again, he lifted his right arm, giving her a 'bring it' gesture. "Your move, love." He would taunt again, his eyelids lowering in anticipation for the next collision.
