Ice to meet you

"Aim your hand in front of you; I'll try to put you in the right pose," he says. "The rest of you class, quit snickering and pay attention."

Viola did what he said. She didn't even care to look at the others.

The teacher gave her the right posture. Years of teaching made sure the process was as least awkward as possible.

"Now, a frostbolt is a concentrated jolt of magical energy with an affinity of frost, which in turn is a concentrated form of ice," he lectured her. "Focus on that. Imagine how you think the spell should feel, look..."

'its sounds like a lighting bolt but I want it over then that. She started imagining

"Now, try to hit the area in front of you."

The students in that of the arena cleared the way.

Viola tried to shot out something

A thick, black beam with a white, glowing outline shot out of her wand. Were it not for magic-nullifying enchantment, she'd have blown clean through the wall.

"No, that's definitely not it. Try again."

Thankfully, the next thing that come out of her wand was an ice bolt and not... whatever the previous thing was.

Whoa. That's cool. Is something bad going to happen to her?))

"Is this better?"

((She had the spirit take over her multiple times))

"Yes. I think I'll have to hit the books to find out what the other thing was."

True. That would make sense. Oh gosh I wonder what's going to happen when that teacher finds out she shot dark magic))

"No, I don't. It's a common misconception that just because we're teachers, we know everything," the teacher said and smiled in front of the class for the first time since the start of the class. "I'm not a loremaster or any other magical bookworm, so, no, I'm not well-versed in magic I don't use."

"Well, I suppose this is the end of our lesson."

And with impeccable timing, the bell rang, making the teacher smile with glee at this specific, non-magical skill.

"time for the next class"

Dem sighed deeply. "Alchemy..."

"sounds like toy don't like the class"

"I know it's useful, but I just find it boring and a snooze fest."

"what do you so in alchemy?"

"Mix ingredients, mostly plants, and turn them into things you drink that do things. Make you less tired, faster, things like that."

"so it's like better food?"

"Not food, no. It's more like something you take after or before food."

"well it should be food is you have to drink it or eat it"

"It tastes horrible."
