"You think you can just waltz outside and ask for an audience?!" he asked in disbelief. "You're insane." In the meantime, the hawk snapped out of it as well, all whilst the schoolgirl was trying to regain some of her lost strength.

"Are there any underground tunnels, catacombs," the hawk asked and cracked her knuckles. "Anything that leads out of here?"

"Catacombs, but even those are swarmed by undead. But there's no other way." The schoolgirl lit up like a christmas tree and something started to burn in her hands.

"Then I guess we'll burn our way through them," she said. "Get it? Because people usually say cut, but we'll burn them instead! Isn't that clever?" And all seriousness of the situation was now gone. What a showstopper.

The deserter led them to a small hatch. Growls were immediately heard the moment he opened it. "Aim for the head and don't let them bite you," he said and looked at Lillith. "Or you'll really turn."

"I WANT TO GO FIRST!!!" Lillith pushed everyone out of the way and jumped down the hatch. Liela ran and jumped after her. "LILLITH WAIT!!!"

A zombie already leapt at her, its mouth aiming for the bite.

The schoolgirl leapt in and shot out a beam of pure light, annihilating the creature. Not even dust or ashes were left. It simply ceased to be.

This caught the attention of the horde that inhabited the catacombs, as evidenced by the mad howls, shrieks and the sound of many legs just around the corner.

"You my friend just earned some cool points. Freaking making things cease to exist. How eve-" Then came the noises of the horde. " They don't sound happy..." "Lillith what the hell?! You could of gotten bitten right than and there!" Lillith started to run again. "We shouldn't be staying in one place for long. We have to push forward or risk giving them the chance to trap us!" Liela ran behind her once again but this time took out her gunblade. Ready to shoot.

The schoolgirl went first, as she, by her own belief, held the most power. They plowed through the hordes like they were nothing at all, eventually getting to the point where the zombies ran away from them, instead of to them. The schoolgirl also burned every zombie she didn't kill to make sure it wouldn't rise again.

As she did this, her light got dimmer and dimmer. When they sent the horde running, she was almost completely tapped out.

"HA! RUN AWAY FOOLS! YOU ALL SHALL MEET YOUR MAKER!!!" Lillith seemed to be enjoying this a little to much. Liela on the other hand got worried for Ivona."You look like you need some energy here... Take some if mine." Liela tried to comfort her. Liela summoned a couple beams.

She absorbed the light off of the beams, but it barely did anything other make her shine just a little bit brighter. "Artificial light only does so much," she said. "I need sunlight or a bonfire."

The undead did not attack them for the remainder of the catacombs, even though they had the perfect opporturnity, seeing as the walls, floor and ceiling were all made of ashes.

They soon found an exit, but there was no sunlight to greet them, not even dimmed. The place also smelled foul.

The outside was murky, green swamp, covered in a thick fog. The schoolgirl felt her heart sank, as water severely weakened her and the moisture in the air waa enough to qualify.

The hawk, on the other hand, was furious, knowing she'd get her clothes dirty. She only had this one set. "A swamp?! Why! Why, of all places!"

"Don't bother making a fire," Ivona said. "I can't use my powers here." The hawk reluctantly went ahead to scout the area, only to underestimate a bog and end up shoulder deep in water.

The hawk started swearing profusely and when she got out after some trouble, she was completely soaked, her clothes covered in green algae. "I hate my life."

The hawk reluctantly went after them, trudging through the swamp, with the aquaphobic schoolgirl riding piggyback. In the distance, they could make out some sort of structure.

The group eventually came across this odd structure – a cabin that sat above the bog, supported by thick slabs of wood.

"Oh, look, a cabin in the woods," the hawk quipped. "That doesn't look ominous, at all." She watched and read way too many scary stuff to know seemingly empty houses in the middle of nowhere meant trouble.

There were no traps, but there was blood. On the floor, on the walls. It was dried and brown, but it was undoubtly blood.

A single note was pinned to the wall with a kitchen knife.

"Nope, don't care," the hawk said after she said the interior. "I'm not going inside that place."
