Soleanna Revisited

Hey Hogs and Humans. I'm just gauging interest in a Sonic 06 retelling role-play. I can't believe it's been ten years. I feel so old.

Anywhoo while the Story of 06 was retconed by it's own ending there could still be an interesting story to tell in the Duchy of Soleanna. It's some years after Sonic the Hedghog visits Soleana's Festival of the Sun. Some sort of conflict would arise but one not nearly important enough for any main characters to come solve them.

Characters I'd like to see return:
Duke of Soleana- If Solaris never existed it's most likely he would still be alive. I would argue he was the villain of Sonic 06 as his obsession with his wife's passing led to the destruction of Solaris. I'd imagine he would still be pushing his scientists to invent a device that could retrieve his wife. Perhaps he even hires renowned Super Genius Doctor Robotnik to build him a Time Machiene.

Mephiles the Dark-
Mephiles shouldn't exist if he was part of Solaris, but Sonic 06 never explains how a small flame became a god that could be broken into a Lava Monster and Dark Entity. It's very possible he still exists and due to his non-linear nature remembers everything that happened. He's arguably Sonic's my menacing vilian and it wouldn't be Sonic 06 without him. It would be pretty embarrassing for Mephiles to survive Retcon only to be permanently banished by a bunch of Fan Characters.

Soleana Guards-
They're so bumbling and adorable.

Princess Elise-
If we set the story some time after Sonic 06 we'd have a much more mature Elise. Without Iblis we could avoid the whole "Don't Cry" part of her personality. I'd like to see return as rational thinking adult.

I think it'd be pretty cool. Frankly, I actually like Sonic 06 (I know, shoot me), and think that this idea would actually work, given time and effort. I just wish that the game wasn't so glitchy, though. That's what destroyed it, unfortunately.

I love this idea! Now don't backstab me but I didn't think Sonic '06 was THAT bad. Mainly because it introduced a telekinetic hedgehog. But I was hoping if this was an rp or rpg if I could join in because I really think this could be something awesome.

Well my d6 based rpg is roughly based on FFG's Star Wars rpg and the Paper Mario fan rpg. You take a class based on the Sonic Heroes wheel of Speed, Power, Fly which will give you some base stats and then use an archtype to finish it or build it yourself with skill points and traits.

Your base stats determine how many dice you get. If your base speed stat is 3 that means you roll 3d6 and a 5 or 6 on that die gives you a pass. Being trained in a skill however lets you pass on 4, 5, and 6.

Some tasks in the game are tests: a set number of passes will allow you to win. Others are compitions where two characters roll dice against each other to see who has more passes.

that seems like a really interesting system. I mean, it's probably good to have this as a closed rp, to prevent people from abusing the system (i.e. not rolling a dice at all, and saying they passed)

I would think it should also be noncannon so Emeralds can be used as part of the plot.

I agree and I like that idea of using dice/die/dies/dices. And we all need to take an oath to speak truthfully.

I wouldn't say it's completely necessary to use emeralds, but that's up to you.

Well remember Mephiles needed one to reform Solaris. I think they're important to an 06 story.
