Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight Empty Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight

Now before the contestants were even brought into there arena, they were taken apart and dressed warmly, at least as much as they would let the staff do so that was. And then they set off, on a journey that seemed to take forever. And seemed to get...colder. All the way till ice crept along the walls and consumed it completely.

They were let straight into a cavern with branching tunnels and smaller pockets and dead ends. But they were dropped in the main area, a large clearing with ice and snow well about, the ground just covered in it. The walls and ceiling also covered with spikes of ice, some bigger than others. And honestly, a lot of them didn't seem that stable at all, better watch out with being too loud there.

Some of the pocket areas seemed to be of a similar set up with ice and spikes, but there were two different from that. One led straight into cold water that seemed to stretch on quite deeply. Though it was hard to see just how big this cold water lake was as the ceiling tapered off to be flush with the water after only a few feet.

The other pocket had steam already dancing through the tunnel that let up to it, a small hot spring that seemed to bubble endlessly with the heat under it, though the cold of the cavern itself being low enough that the ice and snow surrounding said hot spring weren't even close to melting or showing any plans on doing so.

It wasn't until a low bell sound was rang that echoed through the cavern that it was clear that this fight had started.

Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight Empty Re: Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight

Post by AdrianTheZephyr Tue Dec 22, 2015 2:07 am

After being sent off on the journey to the icy cavern, the white hedgehog had finally made it to the destination that was set for him and his opponent. Adrian had took it upon himself to look around to see what kind of environment they were going to deal with. His red eyes had began moving around to glance at the area surrounding him. "Interesting." He had thought to himself as his feet were trudging along the snowy ground. He had then turned his attention to the the walls around him, glancing along the icy spikes that were displayed all over. "Spikes, all around, and they don't seem sturdy at all." Just when he thought he had seen them all, he had looked above him and saw more on the ceiling. He knew then that he'd do better to keep a careful watch around this seemingly harsh area.

Though that would be easier said than done, for he had a feeling that he would have a really tough opponent in Twilight to face. And just by taking a quick look at him, he figured then that he was not someone to be taken lightly. Adrian knew then that he may end up doing battle with not one, but two opponents, Twilight and the icy caravan. After he had finished with his analyzation, he had soon heard the low sounding bell echoing around the place, indicating that the fight has now started. At that point he had turned his attention to Twilight while bringing one of his bandaged hands back to latch on to his short sword and simply said to him. "May the best man win.."

Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight Empty Re: Round 2; Adrian Vs. Twilight

The first thing about Twilight to note was that though he was offered the chance to change in to warmer clothes, his attire didn't appear to be much different. In fact, he had barely opted to wear anything different at all. He felt more comfortable in his usual wear, and found winter clothing to be much too restricting to his movement. Besides, he was already covered in fur that he deemed thick enough to keep him warm even as they moved towards the colder climate. Upon setting foot in the icy caverns, Twilight made note of the fact that ice would most definitely cause trouble if he was hoping to move at his usual speed. The ice, in fact, could cause him to lose traction and slip- and in a heated battle, that would be the difference between losing and winning.

The lack of stability of the spikes that covered the caverns did give him an idea, however, one that was a double edged sword. He wouldn't do anything about it yet, no, but if things got dire he always had that option unless his opponent took it from him first. He observed his opponent as they were taking a look at their surroundings. The low bell rung in his ears, and they flicked back as his opponent looked back at him. "Mmhh, of course." Twilight replied in a low voice, as his focus zeroed in on the hedgehog. He brought his wings in close to his back, as he wasn't planning on using them for this round. It was imperative that his wings get the rest that they need this round, he couldn't strain them unless he wanted to lose them for even longer.

Next, he tapped into the emotions that the air had held for him today, but his determination, his confidence on this day would not bring him darkness...

It would bring him light.

Glowing, bright energy burst from his body and he nearly stumbled back from shock. A clear window of opportunity showed itself in this moment as Twilight got his bearings straight, surprised at his own confidence bringing him a different energy. He wasn't quite used to this yet and not entirely sure of what the energy could do for him, but he just didn't feel bad. He didn't feel much negativity, not after the last round. This time, he could not go on the offensive, not yet.

Happy New Year! This topic is now closed!
Unfortunately, it seems that this battle came to a rather abrupt halt early on. As it would be otherwise rather unfair for an individual to lose out because their opponent hasn't been posting, progression to the next round has been automated as such, the victor iiisss...

Twilight

Congratulations! Hopefully next round you'll have a greater chance to actually participate!
