Gorge-ous views

Once Zephyr came out of the cave the last of the group, he kept a close look to the inside of the tunnel. Nothing was wrong with it. He was a bit dissapointed for running when it wasn't really necessary, but better be sure. No one wants to end up trapped underground. At least, no one he knew.

Then, he turned around letting out a little sigh. When he saw Deux's frenetic breaths, the avian became deeply worried. But, seeing how Aries helped his friend, his worries faded. Maybe the wisp's friend did have some fear, but he didn't want to trouble him with this. Better ask him later. For now, he would wait for them to be ready to keep going.

In and out, very slowly, soothing and calm...

When Deux seemed calm, Aries hovered a little closer to Zephyr to indicate that they were ready to move again. "Alright, everything's okay now!" Aries assured. "We didn't get far, did we? What's next?" 

As Aries talked for them both, Deux fiddled with his scarf behind him, seeming quite guilty at causing a panic for nothing.

Even though he was a little angry for the sudden hurry, he thought it was good to have such survival instincts. As such, Zephyr smiled softly like he didn't mind rushing out of the tunnel.

Then, the avian looked around him. Here, the terrain was much easier to traverse than in the gorge, mainly for the lack of abrupt ups-and-downs. They seemed to be in a different kind of forest. The trees were lined up, each line filled with oranges hidden beneath the leaves. The land outside the path had a thin layer of grass where some flowers painted the scenery. The road was still filled with infinite small pebbles though. It seems like they are nearby a farm.

Remembering his own words, Zephyr pointed to the path to their left. "I think we aren't too far away from our destination now. We just go this way..." He says proud of himself. "And then take the South-East path." He is pretty sure about it. The map's recent so it couldn't be wrong. Back to his normal pace, Zephyr leads the way giving a sign to follow him.

Deux looked around at the scenery, inhaling the forest air and exhaling slowly to be sure his nerves were calmed through and through. Aries nodded at Zephyr's statements, following him with enough distance to still be comfortable but not detached from their travelling party. Unlike before, he seemed a lot more calm and less impulsive. The two were still kids, but it seemed like the panicking made them considerably less energetic- or at least more capable of controlling themselves in some way. 

Deux stepped forward and began to follow them as well, walking behind Aries at a comfortable pace and putting one hand over the other and rubbing them slowly as if he were massaging them. This seemed to keep him calm as he watched the trees go by as they walked.

The road kept going in an almost perfect straight were one could see in the distance a statute in the middle of the crossroads. The lined-up fruit trees made Zephyr believe they were nearby some farm. But there were no barn or anything farm-like in sight. Anyway, it was pointless to think about it. He wasn't interested in the fruit. After all, he was going to eat soon.

Zephyr took a quick look back to check on his companions. It seemed to him that the scenery has made them be more calm. Happy to see them good, his steps looked more fluid, almost rhythmical, without influencing in his speed.

The sound of their footsteps and the gentle breeze that moved the plants, along with other sounds of nature made it a relaxed place. Here, it would be easy for him to want to stay for some time but, as a traveler, he would encounter other places like this, so there was no need to stop.
