Saltwater & Brimstone - Page 2 Empty Re: Saltwater & Brimstone

Shadow's face seemed to show the slightest bit of irritation from the reaction from the fox, but at least Amy wasn't upset. With a huff, he turned away and ignored them, keeping his attention on the captain, as he thought he should. He didn't say anything more to express his suspicion, but it was clear on his face that he wasn't about to be fooled.

The surprise he got from the beard turning into seagulls caused him to sneeze a little, but other than that, he just stared as the birds flew away into the sky. Well... good for them, but was there some kind of sick twisted meaning to all of this madness? Perhaps Shadow would end up torturing himself trying to figure out what it all meant. Perhaps that was what the captain wanted from this trip... That sick, sick man.

Shadow glanced at the captain with a glare before allowing it to turn into a smirk. "So, fox." he said. "Are you gonna come down, or will you need some convincing with that too?" With that, he walked down the stairs, knowing that she would be a real fool to challenge him. Not that he didn't think she was a fool right now.

The girls were truly fascinated with the strange events the ship was under taking, and were eintirely in aww about the entire thing. It was something like magic, which both girls found it to bd an amazing wonder. They're eyes lit up when there beards turned into bids and flew off as if they had never been in the first place.

The captain shouted orders, and the girls were ready to follow suit. Allthough theorange fox was not particularly amused. "He calls me a fool? What a terriable insult." She rolled her eyes clenchin her fist and laying it against the palm of her hand in thought, a wie smirk plastered across her face. "Well you started it." Amy shrugged being quickly cut off. "I wonder if he likes water, I might just take him out for a swim."

Amy shook her head grabbing her hand and pulled her forward down towards the lower deck. "Just relax alright. He's being social, wich is a lot for him." The fox gave her a look that spoke of confusion, and she reqlly hadn't understood what she ment. "Huh?" "Ill explain later." She mumered as the two finally made it to the under deck.

The lower deck was full of assorted items, but most importantly, sabres of varying age, length and material, all neatly stacked on racks. Some of them even looked ancient.

"A'ight laddies," he started. "Fer our ferst trip, we gonna be needin' a trusty an' rusty ol' sabre! Fer protection and cuttin' through the jungle, nat fer any funny pirate business!" He laughed to himself and took a sabre from the rack. By the looks of it, it was probably the oldest in his little 'collection'. It was in a good condition, too, as some of the other sabres looked as if they would break upon a single swing.

On the far side of the lower deck, something long and tall was covered by a huge blanket. The captain pointed to it with a smile.

"Tis' be our party arsenal! Enough of gun pow-', ah mean candy, to ne'er eat normal again!"

Despite enjoying the torment he was giving this foolish fox, who was even too rude to mention her name, Shadow still had his priorities. If there was any proof that this guy was a fraud, he would see it eventually. He had to admit, though, when he reached the lower deck, he was impressed by the amount of weaponry that was in the ship. Then, he thought hard about something he had never really considered. If this captain really wasn't giving people a cruise, then what was it that he was up to? Why was he luring people into his ship with the promise of a cruise?

And another thing. If they are too far away to return to the dock, why is he keeping up the facade? This guy must be a real bully behind his friendly mask. Despite the fact that Shadow doesn't tend to show it very well, he knew that he'd feel sorry for Amy when she finds out the truth. He needed to make it very clear to the captain that despite the fact that Shadow has no friends, it would still be a grave mistake for this phony cruise master to hurt Amy's feelings.

The Ultimate Lifeform glared at the captain, still not buying his strange behavior. "So, I don't really care if it's to cut through forest. Why would we need sabers for a 'relaxing' cruise?" This was getting beyond ridiculous. This was getting flat out annoying. This idiot cannot expect any of them to believe this faker, can he? Oh, and that recover? That would not pass under their radar. Shadow had seen pretty weird weapons when growing up int the Ark. The male hedgehog thought- no he knew- that he could tell the difference between a weapon and "candy".

The fox and the hedghog were listening intently, though of the two started having the feeling that here was something off about the weaponry, and the 'party canon' the captaim had mentioned. She squined her eyes at th sharp object in his hands in thought. Perhaps this was more than just a cruise.....though she wouldn't wanna make false accusations, or ridiculous assumptions so she kept her mouth shut for now

Amy on the other hand was drool when he heard candy. She had a pretty big sweet tooth and would do anything to get szweets or candy. "Candy?" She repeated licking her lips slightly.

"Well, this an adventurous and relaxin' cruise," assured him the captain. "Did ya expect t' be sittin' all t' time?" He didn't give even the slightest notice that the black-and-red hedgehog, whose name escaped him, had any sort of suspicion. Seen nothing, he did. The fact that the blanket was hiding half a dozen usable cannons and barrels full of cannon balls was best left unexplored.

"Besides, tis' be an uncharted island, sabers be just fer yer safety." He turned to Amy and smiled. After looking through his sword collection, he took out one that was still in it's shipment box and tightly packed.

Upon opening it, he handed the oddly coloured fencing sword - a foil - to her. It was red and whie and smelled of strawberries and marshmallows. Everything from the handle to the tip of the sword was made out of candy. Nevertheless, even if it was a sword made out of candy, it was still pretty sharp.

The ship came to a sudden halt and the captain looked through the cracks in the ship's hull. How did these cracks not bring in water and sink the ship was a mystery.

"Land, we found!" he let out victoriously.

Shadow glared. "I didn't expect to sit all day. That's not what I signed up here for." he explained. "But I wouldn't expect a cruise to be dangerous enough for its passengers to need weapons, would you captain?" Shadow seemed to cross his arms, not really expecting an answer, but just really getting sick of his sad attempt at trying to trick them. Shadow just shrugged, reasoning with himself that this captain would have to tell them what was really going on eventually  if his little plan was gonna work at all.

Unfortunately, even though the fox seemed to start seeing things his way, poor Amy was falling for the captain's trick. This kind of disappointed Shadow, but deep down he probably expected such a childish behavior from Sonic's biggest fan girl. Shadow eyed the captain again, not feeling very good about the going along with his trickery, especially when Amy was actually falling for it, but the black hedgehog knew that he'd make the scum pay later.

The thump that Shadow felt next jolted him a little, but he knew that they had probably reached land. The tricky captain's next comment assured him of what he already knew. What seemed to stun him more were the cracks in the ship that didn't seem to cause water to spill in. After all of the other things that happened during this trip, especially with the beards, this actually didn't even bother him that much.

Amy laughed and grabbed the object from his hand and licked the handle, being careful not to lick the sharp areas. She was just going eat it she had a hammer to ward off any thing dangerous if she needed it. "It...It taste like...Strawberry's!!" She squealed out happily.

"Who Knew...a sword made out of candy." The orange fox chuckled scratching her head. Of course she loved sweets to , but probably not as much as Amy. No wonder Why Amy Joined this Cruise when she heard the word cookies.

The skies suddenly became a dark red colour and malevolent voices could be heard if one paid close attention to them. Perhaps the island was both uncharted AND haunted?

"I wholly understand your concerns," let out the captain in a much more collected manner, contrary to his pirate-ish speaking pattern. "But we must go fast. This island appears very rarely and so do the treasures..." During this, he was looking directly into Shadow's eyes, not even blinking.

"A'right laddies," he said, turning to Amy. "Land ahead, treasure ahead!" Before he could walk upstairs again, a red-feathered bird flew in through one of the numeroes cracks in the ship's hull, taking away the captain's fake parrot.

The bird tore the parrot to pieces and then croaked. "Liar! Liar! Island of Fire!" it let out, narrowly dodging a hit with the captain's guitar.

"Curse you, ungrateful parrot!"

Shadow seemed to ignore the pirate's comment, but if there was one thing that the black hedgehog had taught us, it's that quiet people know how to hide what they truly feel or know. Not a single body language indicated the irritation he felt about his lies. It wasn't so annoying just for the fact that the captain was saying them, but just the fact that he knew the truth. The fact that the captain realized he couldn't fool Shadow, and that he knew the truth, and still wouldn't just come clean even though they were far away from Station Square.

Perhaps the man could tell by the slight hint Shadow gave through his red eyes, but that wasn't likely. Even though the man was looking straight into the red glare, it wasn't easy to know whatever it was Shadow was thinking, though that never stopped some from trying. He looked down on the saber, glaring at it with determination to figure out what was going on.

The striped hedgehog smirked as he began walking to the stairs at some distance from the captain, but then was startled by the sudden appearance of the parrot. Of course, the only sign to show it was that the smirk turned back into a frown. Fortunately for him, the smirk formed right back again at the struggle the captain was having with the real parrot. "Well, I wouldn't be so harsh with the bird if I were you, captain," Shadow said walking up the stairs. "He seems rather smart for not only talking, but saying his state of mind." While his back was turned to all the passengers on the ship, a dark grin formed on his face, knowing full well that he was really going to enjoy this mission.

The two girls eyes lightened up. They were going to explore something new. Amy though would feel proud to visit some place uncharted far where sonic wouldn't have. She had secretly made it her missons to find one place the blue blur had never fisited nd this was her chance! She pulled the candy treet from her mouth grinning wide as this certain relization hit her. "What are we waiting for! Let's go exploring for treasure!" She shouted shoving her sword in he air with excitment and determination. She could boast about her treasure hunting skills later to rouge.

The orange fox tilted her head to the side as she tied her jacket around her waist and maded a make shift scabbard for the weapon that was given. "Well hedgehog hurry your tush up he stairs." She commented, directly towards Shadow without making eye contact. Amy just grabbed her hand and started dragging her towards the upper deck with much excitment moving through her feet. "We can be like pirates searching for burried tresure! Perhaps there is a cursed undead up there." Now Amy was just imagining things.

The red-feathered bird sat on a piece of wood and croaked, taunting the captain who couldn't reach it. "Curse me?" it let out, spreading its wings. "I'm already cursed!" The bird then shrieked and flew out of the ship through the cracks.

The captain merely let out an angered growl and then cleared his throat. "Tis way, me fellow buccaneers!" he instructed them and played a short melody in his guitar. Oddly enough, the side of the ship's hull opened and bent until it reached the beach. The captain then used the large chunk of bent wood to walk unto the beach. Despite arming both hedgehogs with weapons, he only carried his trusty guitar.

It showcased various supernatural abilities and thus, being used as a weapon wasn't that much of an ordinary. Whether or not using it as a weapon consisted solely of bashing birds was left to be seen.

Shadow purposely got up the set of stairs before the annoying fox could finish her thought, not that he ever stopped walking anyway. His facial expression seemed to change from a smirk to a glare at what the bird had to say. He was cursed? No, that's not it. There wasn't such a thing as curses. That's what Shadow thought, anyway. Sure, the guy who can distort time and space with one Chaos Emerald doesn't think that curses are real.

Considering that, he seemed to decide to ignore the possibility. He kept his mouth shut, allowing the sneaky pirate to lead them to their destination. The black hedgehog could see the large body of water that was left behind them. There truly was no turning back, was there? Whatever there was ahead, Shadow was sure he could handle. He could only keep himself thinking that Amy could do the same.

"Now who's taking their sweet time, fox?" Shadow mocked, when she walked up on the boat.
