Asphyxiation Empty Asphyxiation

Fire. Oh, so much fire. Enough to produce ridiculous amounts of smoke. How lovely. So much that even the best pyro in the world had no chance of moving it all. Toxic clouds surrounding the whole ceiling, and getting lower and lower.

How the whole thing started was a mystery, but someone had to get to the bottom of it all. This was the fourth building fire in a single week. If that's not suspicious then what is? Now, for the worrying part. People were still inside of the building.

It was inevitable that it was going to burn down completely soon. Of course the fire wouldn't be the main killer, it would be the thick smoke. So much of it everywhere. No exaggeration. Stuck on the top floor, and all of the elevators are completely out.

How could anyone make it out of the blazing inferno?

---

Coughing and spluttering came from the corner of the room as the red hedgehog that once lay unconscious awoken, taking a glance around the area. Okay, this much fire was out of his league.

Although he could be burned by fire, the smoke didn't have as much of an effect as you'd think, due to the balaclava which covered his mouth and nose. Glancing around for survivors, keeping those goggles on, he shielded himself, and hopped across a few desks trying to get to a figure he seen laying on the floor. Please don't be dead.

Upon getting to the one laying on the floor, he shook them lightly. "Hey! Hey!" Ever so slowly increasing how vigorously he shook them. Nothing. Damnit... he lifted them up and slung him onto his shoulder. He couldn't just leave a dead person to be burned alive. A glance to the windows. Many people had just started to jump out.

Burning alive or that.

...That would be a better solution, but the firehog would prefer to avoid death altogether. "Is anyone still alive?!" He called out into the flames, narrowing his eyes and coughing a bit, glancing towards the thick sheet of smoke.

''Any-*cough* Anyone still alive? *Cough* A voice calls out from behind the rubble that is blocking the doorway. ''If someone is still there *cough* stay calm and try to stay low below the smoke'' The same voice calls out as some of the rubble starts to move slightly as the one who the voice belonged to attempts to move the rubble out of the way.
''al *cough* almost there'' the voice mutters,a bit clearer to understand as it comes closer.

The firehog got down a bit lower, and made his way towards the rubble, coughing a bit, at least the balaclava provided some protection against the smoke. Step step step, man this guy was heavy... but respect must be paid to the dead, not just tossing them aside and letting them get burned to ashes. The firehog gently placed him down, before helping move the rubble out of the way, coughing some more, before finally, the one inside of the rubble was freed.

Quickly the firehog picked up the person he placed down, and looked towards who was in the rubble. "Glad someone's actually alive... you alright? C-can you-" A cough. "Walk?" The firehog asked, before ducking down a bit lower again. "We have to get out of here, now." He offered one hand regardless. Not just going to leave someone that's dead, never mind someone that's living and breathing.
