Hunting for Light Blue

You must have a good reason to be able to know about the emerald such as an actual radar, or bumping into someone who actually has one. No random "Just happened to be there" entries or you will be kicked from the topic.

I control the environment and when the gem is found, hazards, and things like that.
Do NOT try to find the gem straight away. Do NOT godmod. Do NOT control environmental features unless your character is able to do so. To join, simply reply below in character. Easy as that.

Strong signals of chaos energy is detectable by any of the specially designed radars. They bleep quietly so far, but the beeping gets more intense as they get closer to the big volcano.

(No idea how to start this so leave me alone. >_>)

Welp, since we agreed Chaos is a living emerald radar. this might be a good rp to use him/it, Oh who care]

Moving along the ground we find a small puddle. For most people this would seem strange. Though some might recognise this puddle as chaos zero's preferred traveling form. The liquid being continues on his way,attracted by a spike of chaos energy.

*kzzzzzzt*

Chaos wasn't the only person who could detect chaos energy naturally without a radar. The almost electrical sound of a warp ring opening prevaded through the hot air and out stepped a white furred echidna, cloaked in black and with bandaged hands and feet.

Even without the cloak everything about the echidna screamed 'evil person' from the back eye whites and glowing yellow eyes, to the sharp teeth beared in a grin that just screamed that he felt superior to anyone else present.

Then again he had yet to note the chaos creatures pressence.

"No time to waste, this should prove to be a quick errand if all goes well" The good doctor quipped to himself, extending his senses and following the faint trail of chaos energy prevading the air

Rustle rustle. There was something moving in between the trees. He had heard about some sort of emerald lodged in a volcano. That was his mission-- to find out what this emerald looked like and what powers it contained. He was already on the move, and his mission had just begun...

And so the blue blur himself was dashing about, emerald radar in hand. Man, his buddy Tails sure did know how to fix up something useful faster than he could run. Good thing he was on his side. Couldn't imagine Tails being an enemy. Eggman and Tails would sure be able to wreck a lot of things...

But that wasn't so, and that was good. So, the hedgehog glanced around. Beep beep beep went the radar, and he looked ahead towards the giant Volcano.

"...Eh, Red Volcano? Real creative place for an emerald to end up." Sonic said, stretching a bit, before dashing towards the giant, once mountain.

"Voooooid! Are you even leading the right way!? It seems like were lost!" Techno said following Void through the evergreen in which the sun shone bright on the omochao's metallic blue and black face his yellow 'eyes' looking around at the surrounding forest. 

Void muttered holding the old radar which seemed to be wrapped up with tape "Yeah, yeah i'm sure of it, and we have to find the emerald before anyone else does...if it gets in the wrong hands it could mean BIG trouble..." The little dot indicating the chaos emerald blipped on the screen every 5 seconds and the built in compass turned them around if they got off track "It seems we are heading southwest..." he turned it over "No, wait northeast..." He bumped the screen hard making the radar sizzle before going back to normal.

"This radar is, literally, an old piece of cra- I mean! Its just stupid..." He pointed it in front of them and groaned. Techno spoke up "Maybe I could fix i-" Void cut him off "No, Stop i got this..." He was frustrated. Techno glanced at him "O-ok..."

Beep.

It was close, so close. The little gem of unfathomable power. Little bitty diamond full of raw, chaotic energy, how it fizzled and popped and caused this little robot's calculating, logical mind to spin and flare with all sorts of greed and thirsty thoughts, hungering its metal belly for more. Great circular red eyes cast over the base of the mighty volcano which loomed up above, the sunlight casting a harsh sheen across the blue metal which covered its body from head to toe,bar the red feet and the large steel claws for hands.

Beep.

Metal Sonic stood on the edge of a large boulder, carefully examining the group from afar, slowly calculating the best solution to do this in its head. For now, it simply decided to wait and bide time. After all, it was always wait until all others were dead before claiming the prize before the survivor.

Were they all not simple-minded flesh-filled peasants? It was laughable.

"Of ALL the places in the world an Emerald would be, a Volcano. Of course, Why can't it be somewhere easy like a kiddie pool or a grassland with no traps or monsters or anything." Is what Sparknish thought as he held a Radar up to his face. Almost comically. "Why does Metallic send me to get it?! Why won't he do it.." He sighed in exasperation.

The Brown Hedgehog trudged toward the Active Volcano. He stopped as he stared at a Blue Blur racing up the mountain. "Great, Sonic's here. I wonder who else could be here.." The Electrokinetic sighed again. He's going to have to speed it up if he's gonna get that emerald so he could help upgrade the H.E.L.I.O.S.

He's going to need a Plan. Assuming Sonic is there's gonna be more bigshots. So he'll have to keep to himself and hope for the best:

And so the blue blur immediately skidded to a halt upon reaching quite literally the very top of the volcano, peering down. ...Active. VERY active volcano. Not good. "...Darn, if only I knew how much time I had before this thing blew..."

He scratched his head a bit, before quickly jumping and getting into a spin, soaring down the side of the 'mountain', immediately searching for another way in. He did not have any method of actually getting inside of the volcano through the top. ...Did the others?

Not from outside the volcano, but rather from within it then. The Echidna frowned, seeming midly disconcerted at the prospect. Walking into active volcanoes was not exactly high on his to do list. Ofcourse.. he he had a sure fire way to get inside the volcano with his warp rings. the question was weither he wanted to risk it.

After all it would be just as easy to let someone else get the chaos emerald out for him and then simply take it from them. Ah but there were just too many if's and maybe's surounding that, no real certainties, too many variables. No reliables. He clacked his tongue, no he would have to go in himself.

His eyes caught a familiar flash of blue and his eyebrown twitched ever so slightly in annoyance. He opened a warp ring and steped through it, ending at the very top of the volcano. Observing the inside of the cone for a good place to set up the exit of his warp ring. When he found a likely place he opened the warp ring and stepped through...

...straight onto an overhanging ledge close to the lava inside the crater. He winced lightly as the hot air assaulted him. Closing the warpring and tucking it away. It was hard to focus down here and he didn't want to remain here longer then nesicairy. He reached out with his senses, trying to pinpoint the emeralds location.

Clash stood at the mouth of the volcano, holding a scrap of paper in his hand. He unraveled it and took a glance "Light Blue-Volcano, Silver-Mount Möbius, Green-Unknown." He raveled up the paper and put it in his pocket.

"I don't even have to look... I know this place is active. I probably can't do much here... It's not like I can fly, shoot lasers or be straight up invincible like most other mobians... But what have I got to lose?"

When Jayne had gotten the Purple Emerald, she told Clash of the other locations, as payment for his help. He looked around,hoping to not be the only one crazy enough to be here.

More and more were travelling up the mountain, towards the gaping maw of the active volcano, the bubbling and hissing of hot air audible to anyone who neared to the entrance. The metal menace observed each of them one by one - the blue copycat, Finivitus, a brown hedgehog and a green one. Too many runts and weaklings getting in his way to glory and power. As they neared the mouth of the mountain, Metal Sonic followed silently behind the group, motors gently put-put-putting away as he hovered towards his goal behind the others.

The location was inside, that much was obvious. He could feel that beeping inside his chest, that delicious emerald pulling him towards it instinctively through his thirst for power and energy. It was difficult to pinpoint, the beeping remained a constant no matter how close the robot got, or in what direction the robot moved. He waited, behind one of the large spires which protruded from the surface of the volcano, for the group to enter the fiery hell within. They were taking their sweet time. That was irritating. Could they not jump into the lava and burn alive already? It would make his goal easier to achieve at least.

Clash kept looking for a friendly face, hopping he wouldn't have to be all alone in this Hell hole. Yet deep in his gut, he had a sense of absolute terror. It was as though he could feel a cold, insidious aura at the volcano, and he felt like there were more like it. He had never felt such a state of fear before, here he felt truly help-less. 

He sat down on a rock and rested his head in his hands. He let out a mangled sigh, the smell of sulfur and ash was waaay too strong here. He had a headache from the climb up here, and all the ruddy air was definitely taking a toll on his health. "I just wish I had some company...." He croaked. 'I sure ho-" He stopped, and his ears perked up as he heard the small whirring of engines, he prayed it wasn't what he thought it was.

Hot, tired and coughing at the ash and embers dancing around in the air yet oh, so curious.
An average sized blue raccoon, standing at about three feet and two inches, stood before the volcano. He looked up at the others that all gathered here. Were they also looking for the.. thing that emitted this awesome amount of energy? Deux flattened his ears at the sight of so many others, if they weren't searching for that amazing thing then what would they be here for?

He looked down at the cuffs around his wrists, the little red gems inside them were glowing as they picked up the chaos energy. Would this be like a game of hot and cold? Would he just have to wander around blindly until he found the thing? Either way, it wouldn't be very easy with all these others around to try and claim the thing for themselves. Deux looked back up at the others and started to run up the Volcano, if he found a way in before the rest of them then that amazingly amazing thing would definitely be his, right? With a twinge of curiousity, he tried to make himself run faster. Now's not the time to give in, full speed ahead!

Suddenly, the hedgehog skidded. He saw and heard a familiar sound. "...Warp ring..." He frowned. That meant either Doctor Octagonapus or whatever his name was was here. 

He quickly turned, and dashed up the volcano again, going really high up, before entering skydiving mode in almost a splitsecond, and landing sleekly on the ledge, his knuckles digging into the rock slightly upon landing. He glanced around the heat filled area in which was the volcano. 

No going back now. He quickly spindashed through an open gap, and got up again, looking around. Lava, lava and more lava. Wonderful. He squinted his eyes looking for a way to cross...

No one had entered the vulcano besides him yet. Either very smart or very stupid, but he didn't plan to leave by convetional methods so the emerald could be easily taken from him should he manage to get a hold of it. The odds to that however, decreased drastically as something blue came hurtling down into the vulcano, not to far from where he was standing.

There was only one person both blue and stupid enough to risk such a move. His lips twitched in distaste, briefly flashing his sharp pointy teeth. Fool of a hedgehog, not his problem...yet. He hoped he'd burn alive, but luck always seemed to favor the idiots.

Focus finitevus. It was to hot in here to let his thoughts wander, already he was perspiring heavily from the heat, staying too long might drain any moisture from his body and the dehydration might kill him if the elevated body temperature did not. He shook his head a little to clear it. Instead focusing on the tugging at his awareness, the pressence of a source of chaos energy.

Hone in on the direction... find a good spot to land and go there... easy enough. He opened a new warp ring, taking himself closer to the emeralds location. Small jumps, but he'd rather go slow and steady then to accidentally plunge himself into the firey abyss below. No time for mistakes..
