[Short Story] Dark Sonic's Appearance

Clouds of steel floated high above in the darkened sky. Several hundred droplets of ice cold rain pounded down from the sky, crashing hard into the cold concrete floor far below. Cracks and black marks scattered all around, and many puddles were forming. Electrical wires surrounded a radius of only a couple of meters, preventing entry or exit from the fighting space for both Mobian or Robot... There was no way out for those inside.

Standing at three foot three, the sleek blue hedgehog stood, battered and bleeding, red droplets rolling down and forming a union with the puddles below. He uttered a few gasps and pants in physical exhaustion; Clearly he had broke his limits. He exchanged an ice cold stare with a shadowy figure, which was returning a soul burning glare into the hero's emerald green eyes. He shivered, staring at the metallic doppleganger infront of him...

Sonic groaned loudly, securing a firm grasp on his heavily damaged right arm. He held his ground, feet locked on the floor. His posture was balanced; The rain having little impact as it hammered down on his fur. "N-Ngh... darn it, Metal! I thought I was through with ya... l-long ago!" The blue hedgehog gave a loud cry of anger, fully directed at the look-a-like. The temperature was dropping to Sonic...

The piercing red eyes kept focussed on the blue furry one... metallic footsteps were heard, and increased loudness as the figure neared Sonic. All the Mobian could do was step back, until he reached the wires behind. His foot landed in a crack on the path, and the hedgehog lost balance, falling back. The metallic figure would have gave the most evil grin possible if it had a mouth. It raised it's sharp steel claws, and put them to the hedgehog's neck. It lifted him off the ground slowly, holding the real version of itself in a very strong choke hold. This was it. The hedgehog, in all his years would never have imagined going out in a way like this. Everything began to go dark... until suddenly, he fell to the floor with a gasp, holding his throat with the remaining amount of strength he had left.

Metal Sonic was grabbing and glaring at an orange figure that seemed to have saved Sonic, as there was a gap in the electrical wires.

Sonic seen the doppleganger's free hand rise, and form into a dagger shape. His eyes widened. He looked in horror at whatbwas happening. "T-T-Tails!"

...

The claw went into the young kitsune's body... a gagged cry escaped the boy's mouth. "S-Soni...c..." The metallic hand came out seconds later, now red. Sonic heard a thud, and came to realise the harsh reality of the situation... Tails had collapsed before him, dead... by the cold hands of his rival. His best friend... his brother. Gone. In such a small space of time.

The metallic head turned back to Sonic. "Now... where were we, my copy?" The voice said. The figure approached... but halted. Sonic wasn't laying half dead anymore. He was on his knees, the floor directly below him wet.
"Crying. The hero of Mobius. Pathetic." It He continued, and thrusted a hand at Sonic's chest...

It stopped.

...Sonic had the arm in a crushing hold. "Y-Y-...You bastard..." He said coldly. Even Metal Sonic felt the shiver behind the voice. The sky darkened, and the rain intensified. Metal's arm slowly began to bend and spark... Sonic was completely snapping it.

The Mobian's fur started to change to black, his spines going up, and his eyes remained shut, eyelids damp with tears, blood and rain. He began to radiate heat and negative energy, a purple flame began to form around him; a large aura of fire...

Suddenly... his rage exploded, and Sonic opened his eyes to reveal no pupils. Infact, his whole eye was a sinister white. A bolt of lightning struck down followed by millions of others. The right metallic arm was completely ripped out of the socket and on the other side of the street, half melted. "You're gonna regret doing that!!!" A demonic voice cried.

...Dark Sonic had officially made an appearance...
