Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Uncanny-Illustrator Mon Dec 21, 2015 10:44 am

These two were each brought to a separate room. Each equally as dark in color as the other with a single bench for them to sit on as well as a wall lined with..harnesses? And really clearly fake looking guns that didn't even have the ability to be fired. Clearly just for decoration right? If anything else, there was a door that was shut tight with a light that was turned off right above the door.

Beyond the doors awaited them a few winding hallways that were of a assumed black color with white arches along them. Though the colors were appearing far more...purple thanks to it all being lit by black lights, leaving the bits that were bright, to be really bright. Along the walls between the arches were decorations that clearly were painted it and yet had tried to copy that graffiti style with bright colors.

At the end of the hallways lay the main area. An empty floor with more winding paths and hallways but with thinner walls branching off as well as two slopes that led beyond the walls towards more hallways and upwards to a small platform above that looked down upon the main area where every path led right back to in the end.

Bright graffiti inspired decorations all along those walls and even parts of the floor and ceiling, most likely done just because that was clearly the hippest and coolest thing ever. But what might be of note though, were that in a few spaces along those bright UV-lit walls were a few shaped holes to allow one to look from one hallway right to the next.

It was with a loud siren that the lights above each of their doors turned on and the doors automatically swung open. Sound picking up in volume and in a small build up of a few seconds, techno was blasting though the well hidden away speakers. The game had begun.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Mon Dec 21, 2015 7:01 pm

Maxie was sat down on that bench, her legs crossed and her spine arched forward. The signal to fight had not yet gone off, so she was taking this moment to think and prepare for the upcoming battle. Her first fight in the tournament, mind you, and she admittedly hadn't anticipated feuding with someone without much basic morals.

Envy. What had she observed about Envy? A multitude of things, but she had to reorganise that information quickly in her mind before the buzzer went off. Envy was capable of many skills and tricks; in particular, his skills lay with his weapon - a curved black sword. And that sword also doubled as a gun, and the ammo for that was hidden within his clothing somewhere. Therefore, it wasn't infinite, and he needed to manually reload it.

In addition, Envy used magic. He seemed to have control over fire to an extent, and could also shield himself in this dark purple magic. However, what was of note was that he named his attacks out loud. He had named several, but she cursed at herself for not being able to remember what was what. To make matters interesting, while Envy was certainly skilled and held no remorse, honour or respect towards his opponent, he was also hot-headed and easy to anger. Perhaps that temper could prove useful, provided Maxie here could manipulate his feelings to her own advantage.

The white griffon stood up and walked over to the harnesses on the walls, her finger tracing the fabric slowly. She wasn't one for armour - she preferred her own sleek clothing for agility needs. And these flimsy things couldn't possibly stop a bullet. They were utterly useless, but... she had a plan in mind. Maxie cupped her hand under the harness, raising it up and down. It was light, but not light enough. Would the risk be worth it?

Her hand went to her chest, once again playing with the fabric of the dress. Yes. It'd be fine. After all, she had her own trick up her sleeve.

So slipping the harness on, and adjusting it as need be, the woman huffed to herself. She jumped up and down, left and right, pondered for a moment if she was capable of her standard feats while wearing it. But it was fine. And with her plan, she wouldn't be wearing it for long anyway. She also took one of the guns, and tested it in her grip, throwing it hand to hand, contemplating if it was light enough to bother with. It wasn't real obviously, thank goodness (because she sure didn't want Envy with that sort of fire-power), and she tossed it over to her right hand, twirling it with her finger via the trigger. She could probably utilise this in some way too.

HOOOONK!

The sirens went off. Lights flickered on. Doors flew open. She'd only just collected her thoughts, and the round was finally beginning. It would be a lie to say she wasn't concerned or worried, that was natural of course against such an opponent. It was fine and well to put on a mask of confidence, but inside, her heart was pounding in her chest. She could feel it in her head, the thumping in her hands, her body... that, or it was just the techno music now blaring through.

She tapped her feet.
Clicked her fingers.
Swayed her hips.

The beat calmed her, and that subtle appearance of a frown melted away into a grin. One. Two. One Two. It was easy to move to a beat. Three. Four. Three. Four. While she could handle without, it calmed her nerves to dance hand-in-hand with the sound of music.

Five.
Six.
Maxie twirled the gun in her hand a final time.
She raised her wings, giving them a singular flap.
A flick of her head, a flick of her hair.

A one, a two, a one two three f-
She launched into the hallway soundlessly, bar a tiny whooshing sound from the sudden jerk of movement. First port of call? Finding that damned feline amidst this huge maze.

The only issue is, well, UV lighting lights up what is white. And I do note, mind you, that her feathers are as white as snow. Needless to say, this wasn't exactly the best arena for her to be in. It was rather impossible for her to blend with the darkness, when the darkness would only light her up further.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Thu Dec 24, 2015 12:59 am

Envy was lying down face-first, waiting for the noise of the siren  to ring out, but whilst he did this he wondered maybe if he should let Psycho out?

Eh, didn't matter, Envy's brain told him to go check out the fake guns, which didn't even fire! Of course Envy had little idea of what laser tag was so...

Maxie was his opponent, and Envy wanted payback for the griffon's insults, he wanted to melt her skin off.

Of course, he needed to at least try something different this round, otherwise Maxie could catch hold.

He also needed to stop his habit of naming out attacks like in One Piece...

....The sound, it rang out with a loud "HOOONK" and startled le Envy, causing him to panic and run into a door.

The sirens and lights didn't help AT ALL. They just messed with his mind, as he wandered for a moment...

Maybe he should let Psycho loose after all... She'd have a fun time in the dark.

He flipped a coin on that, "Tails." Envy called out, whether or not he'd let one side of his personality counted on the coin... And physics of course.

(Ay Spek, call it heads or tails mate, I'm a bad decision maker.)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Thu Dec 24, 2015 12:28 pm

((Ack, I dunno D8 Just go with what you think is the most in-character for Envy!))

Harness on, gun equipped, ready for action and victory. The griffon came to a halt mid-flight in the first hallway, a singular flap of her white wings allowing her to slow her movements to a snails crawl. Her feet tapped against the ground, and she stood and paused very briefly in thought. While this was a maze, yes, she was entirely capable of simply flying over and gaining the advantage. But with Envy having a ranged weapon? Well, that wouldn't bode well for her. The initial plan was to take her own battle to the skies until the foul feline was detected, and then she could do what she did best, but her hesitation confirmed that she now thought that it wasn't the wisest of ideas.

But right now, the chances of finding them were slim. After all, they were needed to cross paths or notice each other in some way. And she certainly wasn't going to win by standing around. Maxie began to move again with a graceful run, gun close to her chest. She dove in and out of the hallways, glancing at any holes that may prove his existence somewhere. Her flight, for the moment, was cancelled. And the hybrid had to rely on her keen senses and grand intuition to gain the advantage and surprise attack.

Heading up the ramp leading to the main room, she halted. He was here somewhere, but where? She didn't fancy this game of cat and mouse, when she herself felt like the prey. And wasting time to allow her opponent to plan was something to be avoided. She knew Envy in and out. She knew his mannerisms. His abilities. His personality. Perhaps it was time to set that into effect, hm?

It was better to allow him to be lured to her, than she take the bait to him. And so she raised that gun in her hands, and fired a beam of light into the air. Now, it entirely depended on how close in proximity Envy was, and if he was in the main maze at all.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Dec 25, 2015 1:20 am

(Well, since Envy really hates having Psycho scratching at his brain, and she actually WANTS to play hide-and-seek... Yeh.)

Envy was definitely in the main maze, and Maxie wasn't terribly far from him... Or at the moment her.

Envy wanted there to be a fun flare, he loved a game of hide-and-seek... But Psycho did more.

Psycho had been endlessly scratching at the walls of his psyche to play this, and Envy didn't like when Psycho performed this action, as she was ruthless...

...And Psycho also liked nightcore, for some reason. So Envy had created a small radio out of a nearby wall, loud enough it could probably be heard through-out the maze, as to appease the one inside his head.

Then Envy let it loose, shifting his body into Psycho's form...

...Maxie might have seen a pair of red eyes approaching shortly after, followed by a white fox shifting out from the dark in a black suit only barely fitting it's body, along with a pair of boots of the same colour. This figure was currently slipping on her gloves, with a pair of very large scissors in her mouth. Tail shifting slowly and her ears perked for any sound...

Any sound other than the song she was mumbling to herself, and had a temptation to put on the radio her host had given her.

Her voice, should Maxie hear it, was actually very innocent, and even high-pitched (She is able to sing most nightcore'd songs.)

..Of course Maxie should know this was Envy in another form, since they were the only two there, but Darkedge was not present...

...Whoever or whatever it was it was still approaching Maxie's position...

(I flipped a coin on it in real life and it landed tails.)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Fri Dec 25, 2015 11:56 am

First began the music. Now, considering there was already techno music blaring out across the arena, a sudden addition of new (and outright trash, in her opinion) nightcore music just caused Maxie to have a sudden splitting headache. It was less music at this point, but more akin to mashing pots and pans together in a sickening mimicry of a symphony. What beat she was tapping her feet to, caused her feet to simply... stop. Her head-feathers lay flat against her head, and a low hiss left her beak. This wasn't like the arena. This... disgusting abomination of combined music was due to another source. But Envy didn't show capabilities to create music in any way. It didn't seem to be something he could do, considering the darkness aura and the flames. And out of all music, he chose this garbage? No, he wouldn't be that trashy, right?

Well regardless, her gaze was cast to the side, waiting for the feline. And instead, she locked eyes with a white fox. Now, while the griffon didn't show any actual sign of being surprised, and instead simply blinked towards the newcomer, internally she jumped out of her skin. The only outside source that she was surprised by this was that her pupils diluted. But her heart? It felt like it stopped, and she held her breath. This, out of all things, was not what she was expecting.

Who was this? Where was Envy? Envy was incapable of transformation as far as she had observed from the last fight, and to change gender, voice, clothes, weapon? There was no sword on the girl's person. It was like they were an entirely different person. But that was impossible - her opponent was specified to be Envy. And she hadn't seen this face before. Had that monster been disqualified mid-travel? But... if this WAS a different person, it would explain the music: new powers. The girl even seemed to be humming along.

"Where is Envy, sweetie?" Maxie asked through the sickening headache-inducing mishmash of sound, juggling the fake weapon between her hands. She was ready to fight, ready to respond in any way, and her muscles were prepared to dodge if she happened to throw herself her way. But the white-feathered griffon did feel a pang of disappointment over missing the opportunity to beat up that bully.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Dec 25, 2015 2:41 pm

"Oh, that pathetic Kitty...? He left you in my care..."

She had taken the large pair of scissors out of her mouth 's grip and shoved it into the wall with strength Envy couldn't match... Hopefully stopping the other music, only leaving on her own favorite nightcore.

"My name is Lunaress... Or so you can call me that, Envy likes to call me Psycho... Boy doesn't let me out often."

She chuckled in an innocent manner, pulling her weapon of choice out of the wall. She also used her right hand to point a laser gun at Maxie as a joke.

"Bang."

Hit or miss, the Fox still threw down the fake weapon...

"Why... Don't we play a game of hide and seek...?"

Lunaress aimed her scissors towards the light portion of the wall, wanting to make the place fully dark.

The fox's expression seemed innocent at the time, though the eyes would more than likely stand as creepy to most.

Her tail stopped as she put on a slight joyful expression, "What'dya say...?" A sound of rattling chain could be heard as she tilted her head, allowing a view of the broken collar.

"Don't keep me waiting on an answer..."

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Fri Dec 25, 2015 2:56 pm

Unfortunately, Maxie didn't even wait or respond. A simple confirmation was all that was needed, and she jumped into action. Quite literally, in fact, as she leapt into the air with a single bound and a flap of her wings, narrowly avoiding the harmless beam of light from the gun they had. Odd, where did she even get that from? It wasn't on her person when she first looked - did they potentially have some sort of hammer-space ability...?

She dismissed her thoughts for now, and focused on the matter at hand. Currently in the air, just out of reach from the standard arm, and contemplated her options against this new individual. Her head was still throbbing from the clash of musical sounds, and she had trouble thinking clearly and analysing her opponent due to this. It was chaos. Gritting her teeth once more, Maxie held her gun out...

...And gave it a sudden powerful kick in her grip, forcefully catapulting the fake weapon towards the white fox to hit her square in the face if it were to connect. Of course, that sort of blow was nothing. A hunk of plastic wasn't going to cause any major damage even if it did collide head-on.

But that was only a mere distraction. Not even a second later, the griffon followed the path of the gun in a lunge forward for an additional blow. Specifically, a vertical blow of her foot with the intention to knock those scissors out of her hand. While some may consider close quarters incredibly foolish, Maxie had enough confidence in herself to go straight for the first attack.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Dec 25, 2015 3:30 pm

With a loud whack, the gun connected with Lunaress's face, making her hold the spot she hit in a small pain.

"R-rude!"

The Fox slammed her weapon into the lights, effectively shutting them down... At the same time Maxie swung, though instead of hitting the scissors, it brought a loud yelp from the Fox as the force from the blow whammed the arm of Psycho.

"Ow! That hurt!" Her pathetic voice rang out, since she was trying to make this a game.

But nonetheless, her ears flattened against her head and her tail was to her side as she tried keeping up her innocent act...

It was like she had no clue this was a fight, but more of a game.

However, Lunaress was visible in the dark, at the range the two were at... Her entire form was visible.

She attempting rolling to the side to grab her weapon and get out of sight, but she couldn't hide her red eyes... Those seemed to almost illuminate from the darkness.

Yet as if by voice activation one of her pieces of music came on... It was a nightcore version of hide and seek, yet the weak voice of the Fox was most likely unheard.

.,.However the girl ran around a nearby corner, taking different paths to try and confuse Maxie, doing her best to make it a game of hide-n-seek.

(I'm posting from my phone so I can't put the music here.)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Fri Dec 25, 2015 6:39 pm

Upon striking the fox in the arm, the griffon used that contact as a platform, bending her knee to launch away and back into the air in one swift motion. As she did so, her tail coiled around the trigger of the gun that originally struck Lunaress in the face. She pulled the weapon back towards it and threw it into the air with a flick, catching it effortlessly in her hands. If one was smart, they'd realise that it was a simple case of hit-and-run. If that was her entire battle tactic, well, only time and experience would tell.

The griffon didn't even seem to verbally respond to the girl's cries of pain, which was odd. It was like in combat, she was significantly less joking, and it was more like strictly business; even her facial expression had melted into a frowned seriousness. Perhaps that was simply due to who she was facing? But despite this, she was hesitant. This was Envy, they said that, right? But something was just wrong about all this. It was too...out there, too sudden and unexpected. It was catching her by surprise, and the griffon was playing soft. She was well and fine with new opponents, but something this bizarre, and to take the form of a young girl? It left a sickness in her stomach.

Now, as for the lights? Well, that surprised her too. After all, striking a single light and shutting them all off was impossible. If anything, she'd need to hit a generator or something to turn everything off. Did UV lights even work this way? Maxie was bad at science, it was always her worst subject. Regardless, despite this impossibility, everything shut off. Great.

But Lunaress was seen within the darkness. Her white fur was lightly illuminated, and her red eyes were piercing. Maxie too was slightly visible, but that was simply due to her feathers being white and just being generally colourful as opposed to anything supernatural or magical. If anything, this put Maxie at a significantly huge advantage.

The music changed.
It was still trash.
And weirdly fitting. So she could control music.
. . .
Okay, that confirmed it. No more guilt. She'd have no trouble beating face to anyone who willingly listened to nightcore.

Yes, that was an exaggeration. Yes, she was still going to beat face regardless. That hesitation still lingered, especially since the girl was running away instead of fighting, but she was in a tournament. So the griffon launched into the air, past the maze walls and into the space up top. Ah, sweet freedom. She was grateful that she wasn't so contained, and for a second, that frown twitched into a smile. The air, this freedom of space, it was hers and hers alone.

And so the aerial hybrid looked down, catching the sight of red and a hint of white fleeing the scene from the initial beginning blow. Her methods may have worked if she were confined to the ground, but with wings, and with her opponent being evident? Honestly, she just felt bad. What was supposed to be a move in stealth, ended up making the battle easier for the griffon.

But this was a fight, and goddammit she wasn't in the mood for games.

Although Lunaress was weaving through the maze, Maxie instead just flew right for her location. There was no messing around here, no teasing or messing with opponents. She was clearly going in for quick and efficient blows, and had no plans on letting her opponent have the upper hand or any time to plan.

She took her harness off with one hand and a quick, swift motion. Her fingers curled around the chest-piece as she carried it with her, raised it above her own head...
...and swung up down right at the fox, with the clear intention to trap her head in it. If successful, she'd yank it hard to try and drag her to the floor in a surprisingly vicious motion. If not? Well... that was a perfect opportunity to strike back in some way, wasn't it?

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Dec 25, 2015 10:12 pm

Needless to say, this hadn't gone as planned...

As the fox ran to hide she gasped for air lightly in the hopes that she'll be able to go on without the scissors she'd brought.

She bided her time, looking as innocent as possible trying her best to get a reaction, and her nightcore stopped as her head was yanked in a very painful manner, throwing her over with a weak scream...

Lunaress was lucky to be more physically flexible than Envy, as she tried to reach one leg back to kick her attacker in the gut, hoping to stun her long enough to get up, but she was only making a rough guess to where Maxie was, as the fox herself was holding her own head in pain, and might still have the harness trapping her.

Though she acted like a weakling as to make an opening for herself, if she landed this blow it'd still hurt, because gutshots always hurt.

Lunaress kept a frightened expression on her face, hoping to make the griffin take the harness off of her (if it was still on) and make an opening so that she could make a powerful counter-attack.

"L-let go of me! Please?" She asked loudly, entirely clueless as to WHAT this was, because Envy had forgotten to mention it was a fight.

But she kept on the act, resisting and screaming like the little girl she formed to be, as she kicked in various directions, flailing about in ways that would likely resemble being tortured, and since she was pinned she couldn't escape, as was her nature,

By now it was questionable if this was really Envy or someone else... Envy would've probably had been much more aggressive, but of course doubts are doubts... It also might have been obvious the girl was holding back.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Fri Dec 25, 2015 10:49 pm

The griffon landed behind her, successfully having secured the harness around her head. The screaming was no surprise, but the pleading and crying... was. There was that horrible sickening feeling again, and a slight hesitation once more allowed her grip to falter for a second. She was defenceless, weak, and above all else? Pitiful. Like a child. Maxie felt like the bully here, and she winced to herself, and her hands shook.

Still, she yanked backwards with the harness, and pulled poor Lunaress with it. However, this propelled the unexpected kick towards the designated spot. Well, not exactly her gut. A leg can't bend that far upwards. But her pelvis? Certainly so. An audible gasp left the griffon's mouth as one of her hands released their grip, and she staggered back. "O...h-hhah..." That was going to leave a mark. She was fast, but she bruised easily. A glass cannon, if you will. She could dish out hits, but her thin and lithe body was not built for taking them. How ironic. If she was still wearing that harness, maybe it could have absorbed the blow instead.

However, there was still the matter of beating up a child who may or may not want to be there. Although the music had now calmed to the techno beat, she herself did not calm. It was only a few minutes in, and she had a foul taste in her mouth for these deeds. This was not what she signed up for when competing. Was winning really worth this much...?

No.
That was not the way to think.
This was a trick. It had to be.

Wolf resigned from injury. Maybe Envy wanted her to resign out of guilt. But she was not going to fall for these illusionary tricks. She was not to be bested. She joined this tournament to be a role model. She wanted to stand up for the weak, she wanted to be an idol that others looked up to and desired to be. And she most certainly wasn't going to let this tomfoolery consume her. One two, three four. Just focus. Deep breaths.

"If you don't want to fight, honey..." she responded steadily, taking a step back from the trapped girl, "Then I suggest you resign the match. Darling, I don't want to hurt someone who doesn't want to be here." Her little talk, and her hesitancy to attack, was honestly more than enough time for her opponent to remove their restraint and return to a battle position. Hell, even while Maxie was speaking, they could plan what their next move was. After all, the hybrid would make no move until Lunaress did. She was on edge, however, and was anticipating an attack if her opponent were to strike out.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Dec 25, 2015 11:31 pm

Maxie was right afterall... It was a trick... Even with the harness strapped around her head and the inability to see, her other senses were more accute...

She was truly a wolf in sheep's clothing, only using her pathetic play as a way to make Maxie contradict herself, she couldn't smell or see Maxie, but she could hear her movements and smell her scent.

Lunaress felt her way around to getting up, as she turned back in a probably creepy fashion, as Lunaress couldn't have seen Maxie, not in the state she was in.

Without warning or a way of anticipation, the fox lunged, using only her feet to kick randomly in Maxie's direction, moving forwards with each one, and following her scent.

Too bad without sight she had no accuracy, but that didn't stop her from trying. but at the same time she was maneuvering her hands to try and remove the harness, which didn't help her situation.

Too bad she was more of a predator and less of a fighter, but despite that she tried to take down her opponent, and refused to give Envy back control.

Even through the restraint, it almost seemed like she was staring, though that was just the illusion of how she was still able to track someone without sight...

And then she began singing "Carnivore" matching her voice with the nightcore'd version by sheer memory, just as an atmospheric song for herself...

She stopped in the middle of the chorus though...

"You don't like games...?"

To be honest, Lunaress had no real plan at the moment, she was just kicking in the direction of a smell, at the moment.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Sat Dec 26, 2015 12:05 am

Well, the attempted kick confirmed this. It was all a ploy, a lie, deceit. What surprised her, before anything else, was that Lunaress made no attempt to remove the harness from her face, even with that brief moment of silence that she had every chance to do so. Instead, the fox opted out for kicking towards her direction. Which, considering she was expecting some sort of attack (and the simplicity of it was the only thing that actually surprised her), she managed to just casually fly into the air to avoid, raising her legs and tail to stop any sort of grabbing of her limbs.

This was.. almost too easy. Again, there was that pity towards the white fox. But she was deceptive and tricky, sly and rather creepy, and Maxie's guilt was fading very quickly through the course of the fight. But now? Now it was time to start taking things seriously. And she wasn't going to hold back, now that it was confirmed that she was a threat.

But her special surprise wouldn't come into effect while her opponent was standing there trying to strike up a conversation about... games? She had to wait for the right opportunity. As for now, she simply... allowed her body to sway. And didn't even respond to the fox's enquiry. How rude.

There was, once more, a clicking of her fingers.
A swaying of her hips.
Rhythmic flicks of her tail.

Her body immediately fell to the floor with a loud thud. And not even after the thud had resolved, did she launch forward with a powerful gust of wind from her wings. This gust pushed her towards her opponent, and mid-dash did she do that same kicking motion to launch the plastic gun she was holding towards Lunaress's face. It was in exact mimicry of her very first move. The only change? Well, there was certainly more force to it.

And speaking of, her body continued to move beyond the kick, giving a fast but elegant twirl as she dropped like a rock, using that attack as momentum to push herself. Her legs swept across horizontally, aiming a blow towards the fox's waist from the left side in order to slam her against the wall.

But again, her attacks for the moment seemed incredibly close for combat. They were fast, terrifyingly so, but even Lunaress could have seen this coming, and had more than enough time to plan any sort of counter-attack they may have. If anything, the fox's hand was close enough to grab that leg Maxie was kicking with... if it wasn't used to catch the gun first.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Sat Dec 26, 2015 1:09 am

After finally freeing herself of the restraint, she saw this attack flying directly towards her... And Maxie was just unlucky enough to have Lunaress near her arm.

What the griffon either didn't know or didn't remember was Lunaress's unusual strength, a reflection of Envy's psyche... If you will?

The gun was blocked with one side of her arm and it smashed directly again it, that's when Lunaress tried grabbing Maxie to slam her against the ground and beat her senseless...

Lunaress was...smiling as she did this...?

"Envy doesn't call me Psycho for no reason..."

Hopefully if she got a grip on Maxie's leg, she'd slam her down and maybe even break something...

Maxie would soon learn the fox was much stronger than she looked.

"I'd prefer you call me by my Mobian name, however... Darling."

Her arm wold definitely bruise from the gun, but hopefully this would all pay off.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Sat Dec 26, 2015 12:24 pm

Well, the gun smashing against her arm was the first sign that this was suddenly a very bad idea and that she'd underestimated her opponent big time, but her trajectory was already made and she was already moving. Before she had time to register what was happening, she found one of her arms grabbed, and her entire body slammed thoroughly against the ground in a powerful display of strength. She gasped.

One punch to begin with, and that was all that was needed for some major damage. The white hybrid turned her head to the side, and Lunaress' fist connected with her cheek. Now, I do remind you that she is rather frail, and for such a powerful force to connect to her face? Well, it left a vicious bruise within seconds, more so than what the fox probably anticipated. Not like she'd complain, of course.

The second punch? That connected with her left eye as she tried to move her head to get a slight look at her opponent. There was a small squishy sound and a resounding crack as the blow caused her eye to indent back into her head somewhat, causing another blatant bruise and a swelling of that general area. Oh god, the pain. The pain was searing through her face and for a second she was paralysed with a sense of fear.

But that was all she would allow.
It was surprising that she didn't utter much of a sound despite the merciless beating.

In an impressive display of flexibility, Maxie raised her legs up, using the fox's body to... 'climb up' in a weird sense, in order to wrap her thighs around her head and slam her down to the ground. What would accompany this would be an invisible gust of wind, that seemed to oddly work towards Maxie's favour. That being, pushing against her own limbs to add force, and push  Luna's head towards the intended attack.

She needed to immediately stop this beating, because a few more hits would shake her up enough to struggle to fight. The pain was disgusting. Her entire face was throbbing with agony, and her leftward side was blurred and hazy from the damaged eyeball. This fight needed to end, and she was making careless and dumb moves. But now she wouldn't underestimate, and now she'd be a lot more careful.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Sun Dec 27, 2015 9:22 am

Well, it was like fighting herself... Except Lunaress wasn't a griffon so...

Back on track, Lunaress took the blow to the skull, which hurt like hell, as she lie there, she thought she could see through Maxie, but not in a literal sense...

A small chuckle came from the fox, followed by a giddy voice saying; "C'mon, hit me again..."

It was like she WANTED Maxie to hit her, in an odd fashion... (Don't make this weird.)

Of course, it was her trying the same trick again, making Maxie feel bad... And if that didn't work well...

She had a final plan for this, but that'd have to wait.

Lunaress tried using her strength to get up and pile drive the griffon on her head.... With her head.

But of course, she herself was just as much of a glass cannon figure as her opponent... So that slam took quite a bit outta her, it was almost visible in her body language.

Yet in her head Envy was trying to get her to let him out... But she wouldn't do that, this was her prey.

(Sorry for short post, I'm not going to be able to be on long.)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Sun Dec 27, 2015 3:24 pm

Successfully slamming Lunaress down to the floor, Maxie used this opportunity to bring herself upwards. A flap of her wings gave her the momentum she needed, to go upwards, over, and land on the back of the fallen fox. Despite this, she was light. Light enough that her stance on the girl's back was hardly anything of note. Hopping off and fluttering into the air, she narrowly avoided the grab from her opponent. She wasn't going to go through that again.

The strength of the girl surprised and alarmed her, and even thinking this made her gloved hand instinctively go to the largely-swollen left side of her face. Close range wasn't wise - her reflexes were fantastic and deadly, and doing so anyway would allow her to throw her about again. But she didn't have much tactics on her, and seemed to be a brutal person with not much grace. Like envy, they had no respect towards their opponent.

A deep breath.

She'd been careless and brutal herself. She'd let her emotions get the better of her, and Maxie had been far too eager to aggressively beat face rather than consider this a battle. Although she told herself that she'd return to her standard way of fighting, instincts took over without her even realising it. It was foolish, and she scolded herself for it. She'd paid the price for her idiotic actions. Unfortunately, dismissing emotions was easier said than done.

Still behind her opponent, Maxie leapt forward. Her hand rushed to the fabric of her chest and dipped inside. A smile spread across her silent lips. She gripped the surprise she had been waiting for the entire time, and this was the perfect opportunity to unleash it.

The griffon whipped out a small but slender steel rod. It was nothing of note really, and it seemed to have a circular hole in the middle. Her hand lashed forward, intending for this rod to press gently against Lunaress' spine.

Regardless of if she moved out of the way or not, there was a slight...
...click, as her thumb pressed against a button.

And from this rod, both sides extended outwards to form a long metal pole, longer than the griffon's height in fact. Needless to say, if this WERE against her spine and she hadn't in fact moved, it would not only cause some serious damage from the speed, but also throw her forward.

Click. Click. Click click click.

Several sounds followed from the side that WASN'T intended to be against Lunaress. From that end of the pole flicked out several compartments that revealed large and sharp metallic blades. At the tip of the weapon? A spike. Perhaps it was lucky that Maxie chose not to shove this side against her, otherwise there'd be some very vicious wounds. A small mercy on the battlefield.

Ultimately, what she had now revealed was her weapon of choice in battle. A halberd. Or, as she liked to spell it, a halbird.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Mon Dec 28, 2015 10:18 am

Whack!

That was the first thing Lunaress heard as she started focusing her thoughts, then the pain came from her spine, shooting throughout her entire back as she flew fowards, landing on her face...

She had no response, and the pain that shrieked from her body was unbearable for her...

The fox only barely managed to swing herself onto her back, speaking only a few pathetic words: "T-that was ch-cheap..."

But despite the inner hate towards Maxie, Lunaress just put on a small smile, and wanting to say something...

But she wouldn't couldn't, her aching self didn't let her, so she was lying there, with a small hint of self-pity, which wasn't usual for Psycho, but she figured she was done with now.

As her ears lay against the floor, with her tails not even slightly budging, she just stared into Maxie's eyes, maybe her soul.

She was more than likely bruised up badly, maybe even bleeding from the sheer whiplash of the halberd's strike.

"Have I finally met my match...?"

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Mon Dec 28, 2015 12:36 pm

For a second, there was once again that sickening feeling of beating up someone weaker and more vulnerable than you. The bile taste of being a merciless bully who was harming the innocent. As Lunaress fell forward with a yell, the griffon's hands clenched around her weapon. Why did it have to be someone who had to act all innocent? Why?

But the searing agony in the leftward side of her face reminded her. This wasn't an innocent person, and they wouldn't hesitate to beat her up to a bloody pulp if they had the chance. Her eyelid closed, and she winced. Once this was done, it would be healed up. Once it was done, she'd look beautiful again.  But even if she did beat this girl up and win, it just... wouldn't be the same. It wasn't Envy. It wasn't who she wanted to fight and inflict rightful punishment on.

She took a small step forward.

Her finger flicked into the central small hole of the poled weapon. There was a slight gust of wind around her, and the weapon twirled around like a windmill, the blades now facing towards her opponent.

She took another step forward.

And finally, she spoke openly for the first time in quite a long while;
"I want to fight Envy, so give me him."
Her voice was slightly more... rough and deep. That cheerful and high-pitched girlish overconfidence had drained into something a lot more startling and serious.

And if Lunaress were to try to get up in any way? Well, Maxie would launch forward with an impressive feat of speed, enhanced by a forceful gust of wind from behind. And she would use the top spike of the halberd to skilfully insert itself into the spine where she struck with the blunt end originally. While it wouldn't cause any intense bleeding, that kind of action could seriously leave room for spinal damage and potential paralysis.
Of course, Lunaress appeared to be flexible, so if she was smart enough, and fast enough, she could end up using this thrusting motion to her advantage.

This would, of course, only fall into question if she decided to get up at all.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Thu Dec 31, 2015 6:21 am

Lunaress lie there in her position, the request brining out a look of horror... but she had to do this, or else Maxie could kill her, but Envy might do it anyway...

"A-alright, I-I'll do it, but I'm going to probably die for thi-"

The screaming began momentarily as her body burst in flames from the inside out, her never-ending pleading and crying could be heard as well, the flames began to turn from red to blue, then blue to white.

The flame seemed to be consuming and converting her body into Envy, in a crouched position... The scissors would also be unable to find as in Envy's hand appeared Darkedge..

His slightly high-pitched voice came in a wrathful fashion, yelling specifically at Psycho as she burned on the ground near him, as her matter became his.

"o,  'r e  y   C,  y o u   c o u l d n ' t  e v e n   b e a t   a   s i n g l e  M O B I A N ...

Envy got himself up and into the posture of a murderer, his wrathful gaze locking onto Maxie's soul...

His mind was clear of all thoughts except how to mangle Maxie's corpse, and what to do with pitiful Psycho, this cat was truly a cruel being.

Then he spoke to Maxie in a booming voice filled only with anger alone... If there was a chatbox here, those words would be shaking and maybe breaking the box.

"A s   f o r   Y U, I' m   g o i n g  t o  s e n d  y o u  t o  h e l l,  e v e n  i f  I  h a v e  t o D R A G Y O U D O W N  M Y S E L F ! ! !"

Envy charged with a psychotic stare as he swung relentlessly at Maxie's body, head, and limbs to main or kill, nothing else... He wanted her DEAD.

And he didn't have any plan, nor any plan to make a plan, as he just wanted to be done with this mobian bird woman.

(Sorrrrry, I didn't post because I don't like postin long posts or detailed ones from my phone, it usually exits out or some stupid crap... Also, Envy should be an undertale boss xD)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Spekkal Thu Dec 31, 2015 4:26 pm

Immediately as the flames began, Maxie leapt backwards and soared into the air. She pressed the spiked tip against the top of a maze wall, and perched herself neatly atop the blunt end of her halberd. It was quite an impressive balancing act. Although the darkness still tainted the air, and how irritating it was, the flames illuminated the occurrences below. And she watched on in silence as the drama transpired before her pink eyes. The griffon was... unamused. But that unamusement curled at her lips and oozed away, until there was a smirk. And that smirk twisted into a hearty giggle.

"Oh honey, honey, honey..." she began, raising her white wings wide as Envy approached in a feat of animalistic intimidation, "You really do love to make a fool of yourself, don't you?"

Despite her confident words, and despite that guilt quickly fading into a powerful desire for justice, her heart was thudding harshly in her chest. His form had changed, his old personality before the fight was nothing compared to now, and above all else? They were in perfect condition, as if they fight had never started. Everything she had done to this point was reduced to nothing, and that thought only intensified the violent throbbing of the left side of her swollen face.

However, he was angry and fuelled by blood-lust. He wanted murder of all things, and in the most brutal way possible. Now she could have easily called for the authorities to shut this down instantly and have him disqualified, but honestly? That was dull. And the audience wanted the drama, they wanted her to succeed. They didn't want a cancellation, no. They wanted the good to defeat the bad in an epic display. She took a small breath.

"But hundreds of thousands of viewers are watching you now. Your friends are watching you now. And, boy? You won't have any friends after this display."

While she originally was going to go mockingly easy on the boy, his blatant need for death made her consider otherwise. She was going to opt out from using the bladed side, but now? Going easy was laughable. She wasn't intending to kill, oh no, his sliver of reputation would be ruined after this anyway. Plus, murder is you know, not a thing people should do to begin with.

Her tail coiled around her poled weapon. A flap of her wings allowed flight instantly, and the woman just... flicked her fingers towards the demented feline. At once, there was a horrid gust of wind that curled outwards as a sort of... invisible orb around her opponent. While it was entirely harmless, as wind was, its intention was at least to slow his movements battling against the vicious air that was against him. As for her own being? Well, there was a certain aura to her. It wasn't a spiritual or magical thing, no. Rather, the air seemed to swirl around her limbs. Enhance them. Make the faster. Stronger. She didn't seem to use her powers actively, but Maxie preferred to use them in a... different manner.

She flew forward with an elegant and speedy twirl, landing behind Envy. And before her feet even touched the ground, the woman lashed out with a kick from one of her legs. Her placement was specific - Maxie's destination was for the heel of her shoe to dig into the spine of the place she struck earlier, just in case that wound remained.

And her weapon? Well, she used that to reach for and hook around the discarded harness from earlier. It pierced the fabric with ease, and a simple flick caused it to slide down to become loosely attached. Her intention for THAT however, would entirely depend on how Envy reacted to her movements.

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Envy the Jealous Fri Jan 01, 2016 12:54 am

Oh, the heel sunk in, and the cat screamed out in pain, he fell to the ground, but re-adjusted his body to be facing back at Maxie, and he had a plan...

Well, not exactly, but it was an idea...

The cat's gaze, despite still wrathful and angry, would show off a smirk that the rest of his face wouldn't, he twirled his tails for an appearance, and rushed out wih one hand open to grab Maxie's head...

He had planned to boil her alive, if he missed, he'd probably just do some severe damage to a wall, but if he hit...

Well, all the endless slashing and smashing took it out of him, not as sturdy when angry, it seemed, and he'd probably just pass out here soon enough..

But if he hit... He wouldn't be able to put enough energy in it to fry the bird, but definitely enough to cause a small overheating problem...

Either way, he'd just fall to the ground without fully succeeding at destroying the mobian...

Back to the matter at hand, Envy's grin almost became satanic as he kept getting closer, but of course only time could tell if Maxie would end up alright, but in response to her remark about friends, which was odd speaking his earlier behavior in the battle against Wolf; "A bit too late for THAT, but this will make up for it!"

For a finishing touch before he got close enough for contact, he made an illusion of him peeling off his own face, to reveal a void filled of staring eyes and gluttonous teeth, but this was just to torment his foe.

Of course, Maxie's move could change everything quickly, and Envy was about to collapse anyway.

(I'm drawing the end close because I might not be on tomorrow, at this minute I've been up about 35 hours.)

Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie Empty Re: Round 2; Envy Vs. Maxie

Post by Uncanny-Illustrator Sun Jan 10, 2016 1:18 pm

Entertainment
Maxie: First post and I already had a good hard laugh. -I didn't knew a siren/buzzer went -honk- Besides that though, I just really love your writing style in general and you know that. The thoughts of the character written down and all gave an interesting read. If any though, I was sometimes taking out of the posts because of confusion, which I will got in about in the clarity. But other wise, I dig. - 8,5/10
Envy: Where to begin. I just.. really struggled to get through your posts, mostly those first ones as I had nothing but questions and confusion about what and why and how. Though excluding that, I did find some entertainment in the small clear influences from popular media such as kill-la-kill, FMA:B and even Undertale in the end. Besides that though, your posts read away well enough and weren't bad in general. It was just the straight up confusion that ruined the fun in reading it for me. - 6/10

Creativity
Maxie:
If any, you really used the arena for a large chunk for the first bit of the fight. And then the lights went off and all fighting ended in one area, welp. You did use a lot of different attacks and even if you did repeat one, it was clear why that choice was made from a character stand point. Though it seemed the main creativity bursts were at the start of the fight and that moment after Maxie got bruised big time. Though I believe it has partly to do with restrain on the character and the actions themselves. - 8/10

Envy: From a writing perspective, you indeed were really creative with the general events that took place. There was a lot of variation in both the reactions and character itself. But maybe your creativity went a bit too allover the place? There seems no consistent rules for the how the character acts and behaves, or well more specifically Psycho. But oh yeah I forgot, I am supposed to judge Envy and not her but they are the same person so ?????? - 6/10

Balance
Maxie: You took hits, you landed hits, you dodged, all good. Even stat wise Maxie feels well balanced with the glass canon idea. You always gave a way out for whatever attacks she used and even gave possible scenarios. Though it seems that she does have a bloody ton of stamina considering her injuries. Adrenaline? - 9/10
Envy: Your balance is wack. I am gonna cut this into 3 bits since there is the writing in general to judge as well as both Envy's halves that we seen.

From a writing stand point alone, you do balance things well enough. You take hits, dodge and lands. Never forcing a single hit and always giving a chance to escape.you don't do anything wrong here except that magically woulds healed when transformed.

From Pyscho/Lunnares bits though; you say earlier that she's more a predator and then later on you say she is a glass canon? The glass canon saying makes no sense as the impacts seem to barely really hurt her bit time, which kind is why a glass canon is GLASS. They hit hard, but take hits even harder with much greater injury. Like if I look at the entire fight, the only time when she actually was injured like a glass canon would was when she was stuck in the back with the blunt part of the halbert. BUT the predator label was indeed a more fitting one in that regard, you seemed to have her much more planned to be stealthy and quick. But in execution she is fast, sly, agile, seems to have endless stamina, uses mind games AND packs in an insane punch? And that all the way till the end, the way end when suddenly she starts taking weakening so fast that she has to stop in like 2 posts.

And for Envy; Sudden wounds healed, sudden explosive anger, a shit ton of strength, though arguable because of rage and adrenaline. And his powers, how many does he have? He has magic, he can suddenly make radios out of the wall, he can use magic to make illusions, use fire...It all seems way too much if our also count that he is really strong with just powerless fighting.- 2/10

Clarity
Maxie: There were a few points where I had to reread actions a few times. Like the action you describe is really detailed, but at the same time it just seemed to lack the information that I actually needed to fully understand the fight move she pulled off. So besides some of the action moves that confused me, the rest was really clear on what was happened, why the character did what they do and their actions.- 7/10
Envy: Suddenly new personality that is an entire form shift, personality shift, everything shift? Sudden Radio from the wall? How could Psycho speak so clearly with scissors in her mouth? How did she pull a gun out of the wall? No really how does she? Neither Envy or Psycho have the power to do that as far as I can tell from the bio, is it sudden alchemy powers? How is she suddenly harder to see when she destroyed /one/ light and the entire arena went dark????? You say that Lunaress/Psycho can not SMELL or see Maxie, yet follow it up directly with a sentence that she can still hear and and SMELL Maxie??? You say Lunaress/Psycho(Seriously you start shifting between names) is a glass canon as well yet show 0 sign of that?Only a good full post later she shows any signs of bruising or bleeding? Why is Envy more psycho than Psycho? Isn't she supposed to be his entire 'psycho side?

Besides ALL THAT, I was able to at least understand your posts and what was going on. But there were just too many questions , way too many. Most which could've been explained at least in this topic. Like I shouldn't have to grab your bio to try and understand what is happening.

No but seriously, why the sudden new personality?- 2/10
