Beginning of a Journey

"Well, we can look around for a while if you want to." Wolf replies.

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind. Walk off some of this food and just check things out," Reena said.
She smiled up at the waitress as she returned and gave her back the card she'd used to pay. Thanks and other pleasantries were exchanged and, once the waitress had walked away again, Reena pushed back her chair and stood up. She gathered her belongings again and looked to Wolf.
"Ready?"

Wolf nods to her.

"Sure." he says, as he follows suit and stands up as well.

"Alrighty, let's go then."
Reena pushed the chair back in, then started off back out of the restaurant. She paused once outside, looking around as she stood on the sidewalk.
"Hm... Which way...?" she mused aloud.

Wolf follows along a step or two behind Reena.

"Well, we could just walk in a circle and finish at the hotel." he says in response to her musing, "So we can just head away from the hotel for the moment, then loop back after a while."

Reena looked over to him, listening to his suggestion for several moments. When he finished, she smiled and nodded.
"Sure, that'll work!" she agreed.
Spotting the direction that they had come from earlier, she turned and started off in a different direction.
"So we'll start walkin' this way, then!"

Wolf nods to her.

"Yeah, that was the idea." he says.

Reena said nothing further for now, observing their surroundings as they started making their way down along the sidewalk.

Wolf falls into step off to one side and slightly behind Reena as they walk. He looks around as the various establishments that are still open at this point in the evening.

They seemed like businesses set up to encourage socialization between their customers. They appeared to be quite loud and active, even moreso then the restaurant he and Reena had just exited. He hoped that Reena wasn't interested in heading to one of those places.

There were many businesses in the area, but most of them appeared to be closed at this time of day, with only smaller convenience stores open.

For the time being, Reena seemed content to just looking around. Her face clearly showed her curiosity at many of these other places, though she made no move to go to any of them. She did mention to Wolf the idea of doing so, but thought it would be better for a time when she was less full.

In response to Reena, Wolf says that he isn't that keen on checking out those places. He didn't really like the idea of being in a large crowd where it was also fairly noisy.

Reena took a couple of moments to look at him as he explained his reasoning on why he wanted to avoid the louder places in the area that she had pointed out. She simply smiled a bit and assured him that she wouldn't make him go with her if he didn't want to, and she likely wouldn't be going there tonight anyway.
For now, she continued on past that general area to see what else was around in this town.

Wolf nods to her at the end of their conversation and continues to follow her along. There wasn't much diversity in terms of their surroundings as they walk. They appeared to be in the business area of the town.

Before long, the dog pulled out her cell phone again, opening the map there to track where they were going. She shared this with Wolf, pointing out the names of the streets they would be looking for to turn at to ensure they made it back around to their hotel.

Wolf takes note of the names as Reena mentions them. He keeps an eye out for signs that would indicate which streets are which as they walk.

Throughout the rest of their walk, Reena would make some conversation off and on, talking about things they saw or what they might do upon getting back to the hotel. They were walking for just under an hour before the hotel came into sight ahead of them again as they rounded a corner. The Klee Kai made sure to state the obvious and point out the building as they approached it, saying, "There we are! Almost there."

Wolf looks ahead to their destination.

"Yep. Feeling like you're ready to sleep yet?" he asks.

"Pffft, probably not," Reena replied, shaking her head, "Maybe have a bath and watch some tv. Check my sites and stuff."

Wolf nods to her.

"Alright." he says, "I suppose I'll have to decide on what to do as well."

Reena glanced over at him.
"None of those sound appealing?" she asked curiously, her tipping to one side slightly. "Other than checking my sites, obviously."

"Well... I should probably take the opportunity to get washed up." he says, "Other than that, I don't really know what to think about the other options."

"I guess we'll find out before too long," Reena pointed out.
There was a pause while the dog looked ahead of them.
"So..."
She looked at Wolf again. "Do you, like, bathe in waterfalls and rivers and stuff most of the time?" she asked, "Or wait for it to rain?"

"In bodies of water. You can't reliably bathe in the rain." Wolf replies.

"I dunno, I got a nice rinse in the rain before," Reena pointed out, "Not with, like, soap and everything, but it got the job done mostly."

"Guess it depends on how clean you want to be then." he says, "And how dirty you are when you begin."
