>Examine the papers on the desk, reading over them very, very carefully.

Getting up from the floor and dusting yourself off, falling into a bit of a coughing fit from the amount of dust in the room which can't be healthy, you walk over to the desk covered in papers, seated in front of a shattered monitor which seems to be sparking every now and again, wired hanging out of the broken glass surface. You can even see some shards on the floor, scattered about. That can't be safe. Either way, perhaps these papers can give some clues to where you are. You really do wish your memory wasn't so stereotypically hazy.

The first paper reads:
"Day 1. Subject #23-B seems restless despite the unconscious state. They are periodically moving in their containment cube, similar to that of a child in a pen, yet brain activity is active and fluctuating as normal and there are no signs of abnormalities. The subject is recorded to have regenerative abilities through explosive combustion to the point of ashes. Tests have confirmed that water prevents the 'rebirth'." From a point on you see a mass of scientific jargon and big fancy words and you have no idea what it means. Science!

The second paper reads:
"For god sake, Steve. I told you to keep guard. Now I have to write a bloody letter to the Head himself explaining the damage because you were too thick to lock the damned thing in the first place! This is your second week on the job you god damned moron, and a few days ago you decided it was a good idea to give the serum before they were out-of-it. If you don't step up your game I swear I'll feed you to the subjects like the savage animals they are. Bloody hell. Do your job right."

The third paper reads:
"Well that twat's gone for now, thank god. Last thing I need is getting into more trouble because someone let them out, or someone did the order wrong, or god forbid they go for a damned bathroom break when they're supposed to mind the monitors for activity. I mean, they say there's rumours of people posing as staff to mess the entire thing up, and people just laze about and get paid for it? I didn't need them anyway. I can do this by myself and the boss is gonna love me."

You put the papers down, the others containing too much science-y stuff to have any idea of what they mean., and some papers have been outright torn. You can still here that infernal screeching in the air, and the red light continues to illuminate the room at a steady and eternal pace. That is, until power runs out.

There is an open door to the north. There is a closed door leading east. A bent and battered crowbar is by the entrance you came from.

What do you do?

You pick up the crowbar, though with the lack of pockets (like that'd be able to fit it anyway) or some sort of hammerspace, you're forced to hold it in your right hand. It's a little battered and looks dented in several placed, but a blunt object is decent enough for self-defense, especially with your incredible strength.

You wince in irritation at the closed door before you, feeling the foul thing is insulting your very presence. Carefully this time to not fall over the many wires, you inspect the door up close. Heavy steel. No gaps. Looks like whatever is behind this door isn't getting out any time soon.

You throw a punch to the door with your left hand, the other occupied, since you assume your fists are large enough and thick enough to cause some sort of damage to the great steel surface. Instead you find yourself with tears in your eyes and a very bruised hand as a loud BANG echoes through the room, louder than the beeping itself. You stagger back and fall on your rear end, holding your poor hand. You can't seem to flex your fingers without wincing. Great. And there's not even a dent.

There is an open door to the north. There is a closed door leading east. The entrance you came from is South.

Hissing in pain, you hold your bruised hand and stagger over to the buttons above a large shattered monitor. That damned door is giving you a headache, and there must be something inside since it's locked. That infernal beeping is still echoing throughout the room, and you also pray that one button will at least shut the thing up.

Your large fingers trail across the buttons, your mind wanders to think about what would be best tried first. Though you give all that up and you just end up pushing every single one, practically smashing the controls before diving to the side, dust covering your vision for but a moment as your body collides with the cold, steel floor once more.

You wait a minute. It feels like several. You slowly raise your head from the side of the control panel and glance around at the red-lit room, but find naught. No explosions. No door opening. No silence. It's rather underwhelming actually. Looks like the control panel doesn't work. Makes you wonder why. You curiously glance behind it and notice there's not a singe wire attached, despite the fact they cover the floor. If it's gonna be a guessing game on what goes where, you'll pass.

There is an open door to the north. There is a closed door leading east. The entrance you came from is South.

Deciding that nothing else can be done, since that damned door isn't opening any time soon, you step over the various wires on the floor and head towards the open door to the north, partially illuminated by the red flashing lights, that beeping still harsh in your ears. To the side of you is a keypad broken beyond repair, and the door itself seems to be lazily swinging from side to side. From this, you can conclude that this keypad used to be used to open this steel door. Looks like there's no need for that now.

You gaze into the darkness which is greeted before you beyond that door, and the darkness delves downwards as there is a long set of stairs leading to unknown depths below. The occasional red light flashes up the individual steps before fading into blackness for a few seconds. You wonder if there is any light down there. The stench of oil and smoke still wrinkles your nose, and your ears still ring loudly like a steady, throbbing heartbeat.

North are stairs leading down. There is a closed door leading East. The entrance you came from is South.

What do you do?

This is the only way to go, unless you want to try that hallway where you awoke, but if you want to get to the bottom of this, perhaps literally in this case, then it's best to seek the core of the situation. Stairs leading down into the unknown below seems like a good plan, and you have the utmost confidence in your physical abilities, bar your bruised hand which is still throbbing at a rhythmic pace. Like a heartbeat.

You take it a stair at a time, your body engulfed in darkness as you leave the room behind you. The throbbing beeping becoming more of a minor annoyance in the ear than an ear-bleeding headache. You cannot see what is before you, you can only press your hands against the steel walls beside you as you feel each incoming step with your bare feet. You can feel the gathered dust crawling between your talons.

You come to the conclusion that there are no more stairs as you walk forward for a few seconds onto metal flooring. You see darkness ahead of you, bar a singular lamp light in the distance that occasionally flickers from the faulty bulb. You can make out various silhouettes from that singular light, but can't make out what they are from where you are standing.

There are stairs leading up behind you. You see darkness and a single ceiling light before you.

What do you do?

You recall words in the back of your mind which stand out, words which you read a few minutes ago regarding a test subject and the ability to, well in the bluntest of words, explode. Caught in this dark room with naught but a single light ahead of you, you wonder if those papers were referring to you. And if they were, that would be freaking awesome. Like, blowing up? That's so metal! A grin spreads across your lips as you attempt to make yourself go boom like lit dynamite.

Nothing happens. You stand there, clenching your right fist as hard as you can and you hold a determined look on your face. If there were others here, they would be questioning if you really needed to go the bathroom. Your heart races a little, but not much happens other that an exhausted sigh out of your beak. Silence remains and you can still feel dust between your talons, as well as the stench of smoke that had been apparent from the start. The light flickers. Okay, so you don't really know how to use it, if you even did have that power at all. Great. So you can't make yourself combust into an explosive force.

There are stairs leading up behind you. You see darkness and a single ceiling light before you.

>Carefully shuffle your way along the wall and try and feel if there are any closed doors along said walls

You press your large hands against the left wall, next to the staircase where you entered from. The wall is slightly warm and smooth, like metal. Go figure, this entire place is made of steel plates. You breathe carefully, taking it a step at a time as you make it very slowly around the perimeter of the room. Your fingers bump occasionally, into dips in the walls and slide across several large outward croppings. You feel around it to be a large casing, or at least a box with little dents in it on the wall. There are quite a few, though you can't make it out exactly due to the thriving darkness within this room, bar the single flickering lamplight. You also come across a much larger indent, and from the feel of it you can include it is a closed door similar to the room above. There is one door to the west... one to the, ah yes, the north, and-

You trip over something in the darkness to the north-east corner, something cold and soft. Your crowbar falls from your grip from this surprise and clatters against the east wall. You body collides onto it, and you made the deduction extremely quickly that it's a person. From the chilling coldness, probably dead. You can't make anything out about this mobian, but what you can conclude is that you are now on top of a dead guy in darkness.

What do you do?
