The Tail of The Sweet-Toothed Bat: When the Moons Bleed

Amber was at home fixing up a pie as little Lena was working on some homework.

By now, several years later, the two lovebirds rebuilt the house on the cliff. Lena was on the move from being homeschooled to public, possibly private, schooling. 

After the 'nightmare', they haven't heard from Jasper or vortex. This family was on their toes the entire time, wishing for them not to return. 

"You sure you can do this?" Amber asked. Sliding the pie in the oven.

"Yep" Lena said doing her home work. "Hey when is dady coming home from work?" She asked.

James walked in to the station with another criminal. "Hey raz got another one" after Jasper's nightmare. He asked raz if he could join the force.

"What he-" he looked up to see that it was a female he had captured. ".. She do?" He said looking back down at the Blank reports he was about to fill.

"Not until late sweetie.. Maybe tonight he'll tuck you in." She said sitting beside her.

"She was stealing from a jewelry store on the south side." He said. "She had the mark of the new gang. They left her behind"

Lena sighed. "Daddy hasn't been home to play in a long time... Does daddy hate me?"

"No baby... Never." She said rubbing her back. "He's working hard so we can keep going. And with you going into school, it's a little extra work both of is have to do." She said looking to her.

"That's the third one this week.." He said sighing. " they're dropping then as they pick them up." He spat. "Just.. Throw her in the cell, I'll deal with her later."

"Have you found out who's organizing them?" James asked throwing her in.

Lena sighed. "Alright but at least he doesn't have work on my birthday this weekend"

"That's right." Amber smiled. "Wee got something special planed for you." She said messing with her hair.

"Umm. No. But  they're clever." He looked over to the clock. "You headed home?"

"Ya promised Lena is be there to play with her before bed" he said. "That and Lena's birthday's coming up. Amber sent you an invite."

"Mommy not he hair" she said smoothing it out.

"Yea." He said picking it up between his fingers. Flipping it a bit. "I'm going."

"Oh Le." She kissed her forehead. "You finish up your homework," she sat up and went to the oven. "Then you can have some cherry pie."

"Thanks se ya then" he said going to his car starting to drive he called amber. "Hey baby on my way home

"Alright"

She picked up the phone a soon as she heard his voice. "Hey hubby." She said pulling out the pie. "I made desert. And dinner of course.. This time it isn't candy." She said rolling her eyes, a smile on her face.

Very funny Hun. How's our little scholar?" He asked

Amber looked over to her at the table as she continued working on her homework. "She'll pass with flying colors." She said with a smile on her face. "You close?" She said turning, her hand cupping the phone.

Right in the drive way" he said smiling 

"Daddy's home" she dashed only to have her tail grabbed by her mother

"Calm down Lena-lee" She said letting go as soon as she calmed down. "I'm sure he hasn't forgotten about you." She said with a smile on her face. She then hung up the phone as she went by the door. She then opened it up.

James walked in. "Now where's my baby and little princess."

"Daddy" she hugged him.

"Hey Sweetheart." She said going up to him and kissing his cheek. "Dinner is set up for you, still nice and toasty~"

"Thanks baby" he said smiled kissing her

"Ew" Lena said

"Oh kiss attack!" James picked her up kissing her

"Yuck daddy kisses. "She teased

Amber giggled. "Too cute!~" A large smile on her face. "Alright, Alright. Hurry to the table, food will get cold." She said gently pushing Lena's back towards that direction with a careful hand.

She then looked up to James. "Don't you dare take off that uniform." She said adjusting it. "You know I love a man in uniform." She said smiling.

James smiled. "Careful ma'am I may have to arrest you" he said kissing her going to sit with lena

Amber smiled ear to ear as she went back over to the table with her family.

Family.

Something she had. And a home. Who wouldn't want this? 

"Anything exciting happen at work today?" She said moving Lena's finished homework to the counter.

Not really the new gang in town has been pretty stealthy about their attempts. But the one I caught today looked different."

Amber gave a confused look as she sat down at the round dinner table, round being that everyone sits by one another. "Don't all Bad Guys Look.... different?" She asked

"I mean vampiric different."

Lena tenced hugging her dad. 

"It's ok Lena"

Amber looked down at her chicken that she had cooked. She played with it for a second. "Well-" looks like someone is building and Army.... is what she wanted to say. Though, he probably already knew that. SO no need to repeat it in front of Lena. "It's okay Lena." At time's She wished that Jasper was still around.... The good side of him. The one that gave glorious dreams and nightmareless dreams.. though that was highly impossible. 


She wished that she could have his power so that Sweet Lena could sleep soundly instead of having to relive that horrid moment. 

"Nothing is going to happen." She then looked over to James and mouthed 'we'll talk about it later.'
