Alarms.
Everywhere he looked, fire alarm were ringing. The tiny trilling of a thousand tiny hammers, upon a thousand tiny bells. Soon, so soon… it was almost time.
The building was aflame, and spreading quickly. In the time it took the fire services to arrive, two small houses besides the shop had ignited, casting earie shadows on the street. People were running, screaming as they fled from the devastation the hungry flames wrought. It had been confirmed by a few firefighters that a handful of people had already been lost to the sudden fire, and an unknown number was injured. The flames themselves seemed almost alive with delight, fighting back against the torrents of water, with a sinister efficiency.
With the flames spreading so quickly, a secondary alert has gone out, requesting that everyone stays away from this portion of the city. Evacuations are beginning to take place, and are working quite effectively.

One figure, however, has not left. He’s been caught on camera a few times by frantic onlookers and television crews, standing in full sight. He’s a human, but just barely. His skin is red and raw, lapping down his body in a way similar to lava rolling from a volcano. His right arm is a mess of ruined flesh and tendrils of fire, working hard to manipulate a strong, purple-furred arm that begins half way down. His left arm is charcoal black, as is scorched. His clothes barely cling to him, embers glistening between large rips and tears in his clothing.
The worst part, however, is his eyes. They swirl like broken fragments of rock, caught in a pool of fire. His iris and pupils are completely destroyed, adding a crazed look to his face. They glow lightly, like dying embers on coal, casting a dark shadow over the rest of his face.
He laughs quietly, his voice sounding as bad as he looks. It’s raw and angry, yet strong. Whatever damaged his flesh also damaged his vocal cords… ‘And now… The eyes of Ignesian are upon us! Come forward, children of Mobius, and face your fate. Your worlds death screams will be the food source of my lord, and all your weaknesses shall be purged!’
‘So step forth, and face your death.’

----------

It seems like a challenger has emerged in the world, with the mind to set it aflame! Will anyone step up, and fight the figure? Or will he be free to do as he wishes, without opposition?

Fire. Fire fire fire. Oh man, so much fire. Smoke and all kinds of horrific displays of burns and destruction, the whole city practically igniting.

The remaining water from the firetrucks that was desperately trying to stop the flames suddenly - stopped? They literally halted in place, and went to the top of one of the non-burned buildings.

On said top of it was a raccoon, glancing down, with cyan coloured fur.

With a simple leap, he dropped down off the top of the building, slowing his descent with a jet of water which he quickly absorbed back, and the raccoon stopped in front of the display. He was quite small, actually. He looked no more than 11. It was against the rules for him to interfere. He shouldn't be here. But he wasn't standing back when this happened.

"...I'm not going to let that happen. You'll have to get through me!" He spoke, with determination, his voice being a smooth and almost soft in contrast to the distorted excuse for a voice that the other had.

Spreading his arms, he stared down the mysterious fiery figure... standing his ground.

The firey figure slowly turns their face to study the small child. Their face is a mask of burns and scars, their bald head glinting darkly in the shades cast by the fire behind them. 'They send a child to fight their battles? pheh, foolish...'

Slowly, he takes a few limping steps forward. He doesn't.. look to be much of a threat. Infact he looks like he should have collapsed long ago. The fact he hasn't is rather... surprising.

'Still, I will do you a favour, and kill you swiftly. I do not have time for games here, child.'
