New skin vote

After a bit of fiddle we have at least two mock up skins. They do need some fine tuning but generally didn't want to put more effort into these mock-ups them needed.
Neither of these is the final product. Both can have things adjusted such as colors to a degree.

Rather stick to the old or have a suggestion for a completely different zone?

And before suggesting; Multiple themes sadly isn't an option due to needing the creator's account and password and since scythe is never here or able to get contacted... yeah.

Digging the Mystic Cave one a lot more than the Chemical Plant one. ...It also isn't broken on my monitor. So that's a plus.

Mystic Cave has wonderful colours and I love'em <3
For some reason the orange colour in it puts me off though??? But that might be just me

But if that didn't work out, I would totes love a Sky Sanctuary background with those light greens and blues, yes please

I really like the Mystic Cave one, although I'd rather have 3D renders of characters instead of their archie versions. I don't know. I just like them more, looks somewhat more professional instead of 'just another Sonic Forum'

The 3D models are harder to come across for other characters without getting into issues with artists on DeviantArt potentially. I mean, seriously, the only 3D models that are really rendered are pretty stiff and hard to really work with. The archie sketches are... not my cup of tea, but they're definitely easier to use in the long run. Trust me, I know what I'm talking about. XD

I personally find the Chemical Plant more appealing, though seeing I'm in the minority. I dunno, something about Green, Purple and Orange together as the prime colours feels very... Idunno, it clashes a lot.
Chemical Plant I really like - only thing I'd suggest is maybe blurring and/or desaturating the background a bit, so the focus holds to the forefront of the site whilst it acts as reasonable backing.

And I'll admit, the forum is kinda my favorite default page to keep up because it's pleasantly dark, which makes it great when I don't want my laptop to be blindingly bright while I'm gaming and don't want to adjust the brightness back and forth. -w- Good stuff.

I love chemical plant due to its music and (despite being frustrating on act II) was one of my favorite levels to play with super high speeds.

Just to clarify Envy, we're not voting on our favourite levels from the games, rather, we're voting on what we think is the better forum skin (the skins being based upon those levels). May wanna check the links to see which layout you prefer visually.

The Mystic Cave layout looks awesome. Though I guess I got ahead of myself in already voting because after going back and looking at both of the layouts again, I realize that we don't really have a layout that represents the classic sonic look. 

You know, like green hill zone or some first level from any sonic game. The usual green grass and blue skys or beach themes. 

I feel like something like that would best fit the forum in general, seeing as how we are a Sonic RP forum afterall. Out of the two layouts that have been done though, I like mystic cave better. Elec's suggestion of Sky Sanctuary was nice too.

To be honest, I don't think green hill zone would be a great option, because it's a bit too...bright. I actually like the black-grey pattern of this layout, it's calm to your eyes. I remember that other sonic rp site where the color pattern was blue. It kinda annoyed me. I've already voted for 'something else'. Otherwise I would vote for Chemical plant xD

Although Sky sanctuary could be okay if you use the right colors on the right place.

Personally liking the Mystic Cave one best! I don't really find industrial backgrounds very appealing but that' just my opinion

I also really do like the change to the comic style of characters as opposed to how it is now with 3D models and such, looks really nice to look at

I am definitely in agreement with this, Sky Sanctuary could be amaaazing, has a really nice colour scheme. There are probably various ways you could approach it and still have it lookin' geewd.

Though I will ask this since I have gotten quite split options on this; Should we use the 3d renders or the archie stuff?

As long as it doesn't get the forum into any trouble, I personally think the archie stuff looks great. 3d renders are nice and all, but they tend to stick out a lot more... at least, in my personal experiance. The archie stuff just seems better suited for the purpose.

Archie or 3D renders?

I vote for 3d renders because I simply like them more aesthetically or however you spell it D<

I'd vote for 3d renders as well.

I think the 3D renders would be better, or maybe sprites if we wanted to go there even. But 3D renders keep it closer to the games and while I do like the archie artwork, Sonic is mainly a game franchise. I just think it fits better that way.
