A Fearful Path To Redemption

Rain.
Nothing but constant raining.


The dark clouds formed above the city, which then became drenched in what seem to be a never-ending torrential downpour. The tone of the atmosphere gave off a sense of hopelessness and depression. The within the city, all you could see were umbrellas everywhere you looked. Of course there would be. Everyone wore coats, scarfs, along with their umbrellas, rushing as fast as possible to get out of the powerful rain. 

Well, everyone except one. A certain grey hedgehog walking along the sidewalk, to whom most people gave small glances to. Probably because he was one of the few who didn't have an umbrella hanging over his head. Instead he donned a blue shirt with a black trench coat, along with black pants. along with black combat boots to top it all off.

Drenched in the heavy rain. The grey hedgehog pulled his hair back and tied it into a short ponytail. He kept onward with his walking along the sidewalk, thinking, contemplating. But about what exactly? Whatever it was, it had made him tearful.

Raining?
Hopelessness?
Clouds and darkness?
Sounds fun enough to her!

  A beam of sunlight shot through the thick clouds, making a pretty, almost perfect circle around an orange female who seemed to be a hedgehog. Yeah pretty much, just, hair instead of spikes, because I highly doubt that spikes could be as curly and flexy as that orange-and-turquoise mess on her head. Who needs an umbrella when you have powers you can show off, ey?

  But yes, aside from the orange fur with blue highlights, the hedgehog wore a black poncho, kinda short for a poncho but no maaatter, a black skirt, and black boots. Maybe she tried to drown out the neon colours of her fur and four big turquoise bracelets she had on each limb that way. Didn't work. Oopsie.

  And so, the thing looked around, walking down the street and observing the people running around. Then, she stopped mid-step, her eyes focused on the gray hedgehog. She twitched a smile before bouncing over, "You," almost bumping into the poor guy, or more his chest, the thing was rather short, "sir," raising her arm, "could", flicking her wrist!, "catch", and creating another hole in the sky so that the rain would stop around his feet, "a cold."
A grin.
"No need to thank me."

The grey hedgehog was deep in his thoughts as the heavy rain came down heavily on him, not noticing the the sudden shift in the dark clouds and a sudden beam of sunlight shining down in the distance.

As the single tear had flown down his cheek, the hedgehog quickly rubbed his eyes to wipe them away. It was not only a couple of seconds later that he notices that the he does not feel anymore raindrops on him. He looks around and sees that it's still raining all around him.

What's going on? He then looked up into the sky and squinted his eyes as he felt sunlight shining down on him. He then looked to his side and noticed a orange hedgehog. Was she she the source of the ray of light?

The grin slowly faded, and the 'source' puffed her cheeks, resting her hands on her hips. "Well, I don't need a thank you, but at least some sort of reaction would be nice!" She eyed the hedgehog up and down before noticing that he's actually looking at her, rather puzzled. "Oh there we g-...What? Don't look at me like that, if I have powers I may as well use them!". And was she happy she could finally use them. The chill of rain wasn't the same as the nose-biting, finger freezing and dry aired winter cold. And. GOOD.
...Goddammit this guy looked quiet. At least not grumpy, yet.

A pause. And a slight prod at the gray hedgehog's side. "My name's Electrisa. But just call me Elec. What about you?" Another pause. "..Oh, are you mute? Oh, uh, sorry if you are!" She shuffled away from the hedgehog, raising her hands slightly. Help. Awkward. What do. Help.

The grey hedgehog had finally snapped out of his deep thinking after only seconds later and became rather puzzled when she assumed him to be deaf. Soon after he began to feel bad for unintentionally ignoring her.

"Oh! My sincerest apologies." He said to her. "I didn't mean to stare. I was uhh...in deep thought. And thanks." He said as he hoped he had not offended her in any way.

Elec swayed back and forth on her feet, her hands behind her back. A pout. "I know that walks and fresh air help with thinking, especially DEEP thinking, but, don't you think it's kinda cold and.. wet, AND crowdy for thinking outside? Without an umbrella?" She raised a hand to the hedgehog's forehead. "Good that you don't have a high temperature yet! You will soon though, you ssssssilly. And, like I said, it's nothing! Wait 'till you see me clean all of this weather mess up!" She pointed at the sky with a smile.
A longer pause. "..Are you one of those people who don't like giving away their name to 'strangers'? Please, tell me you aren't. It's annoying, not knowing who you're talking to."
Andddd she folded her arms, waiting for his answer.

The hedgehog gave yet another pause for a moment as he scratched his head and then explains.
"Well...I guess I wasn't really thinking about the current weather predicament when I was out walking. Hehe...silly me. And as for my name....." A longer pause occurred as the grey hedgehog then stood more straighter and took his hands out of his coat pockets, looking towards her. "......It's Avior."
