The Roleplaying Timeline?

Well, I just joined like yesterday, and I've already got an idea for 2 characters I want to play with, but I want to establish what kind of timeline I'm working with...

Is this the Archie Timeline or the Video Game timeline? And if it's the Archie one, will it be Pre or Post Super Genesis Wave? And if its the Video Game timeline, which one? There's the Gaia timeline which occurs after the travesty of Sonic 06, and then there's the Adventure and Classic timelines which ran up to before '06, which both happen on a fictional Earth and not on Gaia.

I just need to know what the canon timeline is so I know what's already happened in world. Granted, I'm going to start out with a character who's dumber than Sonic Boom's Knuckles, so he can afford the luxury of not knowing diddly SQUAT, and I, as the player, can learn along the way what's going on and what's already happened. Still, I'd like to have at least an inkling of what's what so I can at least establish a background for my first character.

We generally don't really have a timeline that we stick to from canon. There had been discussions about doing so in the past or making a huge merging of everything in a logical way but it was decided against as it does limit a lot of players in the long run and might isolate those that do not know about certain timelines.

So best advice I can give is just go with the timeline you enjoy playing the most but also keep a certain open nature to it all.

That's fine. I'll stick with the Archie canon then since that technically bleeds into other universes already. Post Super Genesis Wave, here I come!
