The Dystopia

"Why do you think I was pointing my gun at you a second ago? What part of 'people' taking my children hostage don't you get? Ohh no, don't tell me you never blasted a person before." Grief said as he put his gloved hand on his forehead.

"I've hit someone with an entire island before... but um... I try not to do that much. I've been told I get scary. If push comes to shove I'll just... Uh... Gee... I guess I'll just use my powers the scary way.""

"You hit someone with an island? How did that happen?" Grief asked.

"Let me guess, you want me to do this the 'heroic' way too?"

"Well I just thought "Im sick of you pushing me around!" and next thing I knew I was holding an island... And no... I can't ask you to do things my way. She's your daughter. I couldn't imagine how you feel so why should I tell you how to handle it."

"You must have some latent psychic potential, perhaps your brain is just hardwired to be more psychic than smart or something. It happens. Anyways my powers would be virtually useless in a situation such as this." Grief replied.

Silver shrugged, "Well I knew you wouldn't shoot me... and you didn't. Gotta give me points for that."

"Then you're lucky you've got me, eh?" He gave a proud dopey grin.

"I'm only fifteen and I already have grey hairs because of you Silver. Try not to make any more."

"Riiiight. Anyways, let's get moving. Put on that hood and try not to make contact. Follow me and act as I do. Can you play monkey see monkey do?" Grief asked.

"Yeah... I got this far, didn't I?"

Silver flipped up his hood as instructed.

Grief hid the guns in his holster and covered up his jacket as he proceeded to move slowly outside to the city street. He acted like he was loitering and had not place to be as he acted bored and scanned around for anyone else. When the coast was clear he calmly nudged for Silver to follow all the while looking like he had no place to be.

Silver did just that. It's not like he knew where he was going anyway. He was pretty good at playing innocent. So good it was scary.

Once the coast was clear Grief proceeded to move down the walkway towards the south. The rain had eventually subsided for the most part, but there was still drizzle and now a dark and spooky midnight's fog picked up. While a lot of the citizens have gone into their homes for the night there was still an substantial amount of nocturnal Moebians wandering about. Unlike human cities it appeared that the dusk hour had not set the 'livelihood' of the inhabitants of Siag, on the contrary a nightlife was in full swing.

Silver rubbed his hands together. All this wet weather was soaking his clothes and making the ends of his fur freeze. He wished for a nice blanket but knew better than to voice this. 

He wondered if his guide had nice friends. He knew Moebius was supposed to be opposite of Onyx city... or "Prime" as he'd heard it... but they both had government issues, his with the Council who he'd pretty much assumed was this planet's "Order." 

He couldn't just assume everyone here was evil. They were too much alike-- granted a lot darker.

He kept his thoughts to himself.

Gold didn't like the quiet but she made due.

Meanwhile Grief on the other hand was moving, while he moved at a average pace and made sure that Silver could keep up he nevertheless kept on the move. He tried to not bump into anyone again for fear that he would meet more 'unsavory' people. All the while he was fortunate that the density and crowded pathways had cleared up to one or two people taking a midnight stroll every so often. Most of the activity in the city had ceased in terms of all the media on the screens and instead the monitors shows various graphs and forecasts for the day. Apparently the rain would be lasting all week.

One thing however did complicate matters, every  so often Moebians in helmets, armor, and with larger caliber weaponry would be patrolling the streets that night. If the two were careful they could perhaps avoid these patrols, but this is a risk of looking suspicious even more. Every so often also a flying aircraft would hover by, the vehicle looked as big as a human made helicopter and it hovered instead of rushed past while shining a spotlight down from above.

I'm probably going to regret this... but if I dont ask I'll regret it more.

"S'cuse me? It's Silver. I'm speaking with my mind so only yo can hear me... How come there aren't any hedgehogs here? And... What will happen if I'm found?"

Silver did his best to pretend his head didn't feel like splitting. He'd eye a shop window every now and then then rub his temple in pain when he was sure nobody could see it.

"They will send you to a camp." Grief replied telepathically.

"Yeeeaaaah... I'd rather not. I didn't bring a sleeping bag with me cross dimension."

Silver was joking but that uneasy feeling he had earlier kept gnawing at his mind.

"Oh they'll make sure you sleep well alright, they have excellent ways to put you to sleep." Grief replied in a rather dark tone.

"Be my guest. I don't want to get my head blown off over something as trivial as species. Luckily I don't look too much like a terrorist, right?"
