Illusion of Success

"Yeah brat the crap out if him!!!!" Lillith cheered on.

He kept beating and beating and beating, all while the students and the teacher watched in silent disbelief. When he Wizard finally gave way and died, the Devil just revived him and the cycle continued.

He wanted the fool not to beg for his life, for that was already gone, but to beg for death. The sweet, sweet release of death. The merciful way out.

Lillith enjoyed the show. She didn't really understand why nobody else did.

After the wizard died for the fourth time and was brought back for the fifth, he started begging.

"Please, just let me die! Let me die!"

"You took something; I want you to give it back."

"He took something?" Lillith wondered what the devil was talking about.

The Devil aimed one hand at the Wizard and at the other at the dead student, who was already rolled up in a body bag.

He channeled life from the Wizard with one hand and restored it to where it belonged with the other. Here, the wizard finally responded to the pain and screamed and kicked like a dying animal.

"Whoa..." Lillith was amazed at what she was seeing. She didn't even know life could be transferred like that.

He wizard being turned into a skeletal, shell of a man and the worst thing was, that he alive throughout the whole thing. The screams went higher in pitch, even when limbs could no longer thrash about.

When the Devil was done, the student was freed from the body bag and was completely okay, while what remained of the wizard just laid there motionless, occasionally breathing.

"Big boss you're Soo amazing!!!" Lillith went closer to him.

"Would have been more amazing if violence wasn't neccessary," he said as he finished off the Wizard for good. "Very little you can do when someone has their mind set to something. Kept going on about some books."

"Well not like he's going to get the books now. Well I guess no one can... The Library's wrecked."

"Which he admitted to doing due to not being able to find the one he was looking for," the Devil said. "Supposedly, you and Liela have them."

"The book of dungeons or the book of summons because we have both of them."

"Doesn't matter," the Devil continued. "I think the two of you having them is enough protection."

"Protection? Protection from what?!"

"I meant that I couldn't ask for better safekeepers," he elaborated. "Those books are quite rare."

"Rare indeed, even though master and I found them both in the same week.*sigh* But there's a wizard that's started a war for those books. Probably going to trap master in a gem and kill me if he finds us. Are the books really that valuable?"

"Um... This is the wizard," the Devil said. "Rare? Yes. Valueable? Not really."

"That was the wizard?!? Aww man I was kind of looking forward for master to get trapped in a gem and have this cool boss battle but I guess thats not going to happen. If it's not valuable than why did he want it so badly? "

The devil shrugged.

"Well glad he's dead. Thanks for that. I owe you."

"My pleasure," he said with a smile and walked over to the principal. "Now I'd humbly ask you to fullfil your part of the bargain."

But he refused. "No."

Lillith backed away nervously."That's not a good idea principal..."

The Devil sighed. "I don't have time for this," he said, creating a portal. "See you later."

"Bye!" Lillith waved goodbye.
