Illusion of Success

The Void.

An odd, misunderstood dimension, the world betwen worlds, the place where not dying on arrival is considered a success. A lukewarm home for the banished, exiled and the twisted. 

A place where mortals take on the form of monsters and where monsters take on the form of mortals, for their true form cannot be grasped by their feeble minds.

A giant repository of forbidden knowledge, it's no surprise schools were created just for the sole purpose of sharing it, including things no one was ever meant to know, some of which sent curious learners down the path of insanity.

But as time went on and knowledge was shared and passed down into the mortal world, the schools became obsolete, as no one was willing the take the risk when they could learn almost everything back home.

One school, however, endured the trials of time – The Illusive Academia – and now, for the first time in over a hundred years, its student count has reaches double digits, as the tenth student arrives, a little ink demon by the name of Lillith.

Lillith finished the skip to the portal and arrived at the void.

She was greeted with a sinister, black spiked gate, with a similiarly spiked fence at the sides. Beyond that stood a building reminiscent of a castle, complete with towers .

"Well, what'd you think so far?" Azzar, who got her there, asked. "They renovated recently, but I have to admit I'm no fan of the style. Doesn't look very welcoming."

"I kind of like it but it's whatever. They could have pink butterflies for all I care. "

Azzar went ahead and opened the gate. "I'll do all the talking with the higher ups," he said as he walked into the courtyard. "Why don't you have a look around? Maybe you'll find some new friends."

"Maybe... though I doubt anyone would want to be friends with a demon." Lillith then wondered off in search for something interesting.

She came across a succubus of all things and it was really easy to pick her out of the crowd based on just what she was, or, in this case, wasn't wearing.

Almost nothing was left to the imagination

Lillith walked closer and greeted the succubus like if she was any other person. "Nice to see I'm not the only demon here."

"Hey," the succubus greeted her. "Haven't seen you around. You new here?"

"Yeah I'm new. Just got here like a minute ago."

"Speedy. Rare to see new faces around here," the succubus continued. "Thanks for not saying the usual things that get tossed around when people see a succubus. We're supposed to dress like this."

"I've just seen your kind many times so I know what you are doing is exactly how things are supposed to be. I wish I was a succubus but nope...I'm stuck bring an ink demon."

"Ink demon? Haven't heard of that. I'm sure you get that a lot," she continued. "Anyway, need something? Maybe a tour around?"

Lillith sighed. "Yes a tour would be nice. I'd like to see all."

"Not much to see," The succubus said and motioned her to follow her. "We only got the dormitories, a clubhouse and two classrooms."

"Smallest school I've ever heard of. Well at least that means the teachers have more time to spend some one on one help." Lillith followed.

"Yeah, about that," the succubus started. "I've been here for six months and they barely taught me anything. They don't participate in anything outside of teaching."

" Well at least they teach. I'm going to try and see if I can learn this fast. Make a record time or something."

"Good luck with that."

"I'm sure lady luck will be on my side this time. So, what sort of club is in the clubhouse???"

"It's just a big living room where students relax," the succubus explained. "Not really a club in any shape or form."

"Oh well how are your dorms?"

"Two mini-apartments side by side," she explained. "They both share a bathroom."

"eh? Could be worst"

"Classes start in about half an hour," the succubbus said. "First floor, far right room."
