Guiding Light

"I suppose so. I guess there is a lot to see and like out there." Wolf replies.

He glances towards the television, resuming changing the channels.

"It seems like I'm keeping you from that." he says.

Flame turned her gaze over towards Wolf. She was quiet for a moment, then proceeded to ask, "You really wallow in guilt, don't you?"

"When trouble follows you around, you feel a sense of responsibility for the damage it causes. What's a little extra for something else not nearly as important?" he replies.

"Kind of annoying, honestly," Flame said, a bit bluntly, "Don't blame yourself for little things like me not bein' outside and don't blame yourself for stuff you can't fully control. It's not like you knew some jerk was gonna show up and pick a fight when you asked me for directions."

"Maybe I should just stay away from places with other people. I could avoid that problem entirely then." Wolf says.

"Yeah, and then you'll also probably be dead. Or... a prisoner, whatever they want," Flame pointed out.

"Am I really worth it though?" he asks, "I don't know the answer to that."

He sighs softly.

"I don't know you well enough to say," Flame admitted, "Don't think that means you should just banish yourself, though."

Wolf glances down at the floor.

"Sometimes I think it's the best option." he says, ""I just wish that something could be done that didn't hurt the people around me..."

Flame was quiet for a couple of moments. Finally, she smirked a bit. "You're a real ray of sunshine, Wolf," she said.

Wolf glances back at her.

"It's what I do." he replies.

"Clearly."

Flame shifted her gaze back over to the television.

Wolf turns away from Flame and returns his attention to the television as well. He continues to flip through the channels.

Flame offered no further conversation for the time being as the subject at hand wasn't one she was good at being tactful again. Then again, she was used to being powerful enough to handle her own problems so it was admittedly more difficult to put herself in Wolf's figurative shoes...

Wolf decided the remain quiet as well. So, he sat there quietly with her going through channels on the television. There wasn't anything there that really caught his attention. He glances back over at Flame, then slides the remote over towards her.

"I don't see anything too interesting. Maybe you'll have better luck." he says.

Flame looked down to the remote. She shrugged her shoulders a bit. "Maybe not," she admitted, "Daytime television can be a bit dull." Regardless, the hedgehog picked up the control and started to flip through the channels as well.

Wolf climbs off the bed. He glances in the direction of the window, then he starts walking towards the bathroom.

Flame slouched in the bed a bit once Wolf got up. Once it was clear he wasn't paying any attention to the television, she let it sit on one channel and instead turned her own focus back to her phone for the time being.

Wolf heads into the bathroom, pausing only long enough to glance at the main door leading out of the motel room. He closes the bathroom door and makes use of the facilities there. Several minutes later, he exits the bathroom with his business there concluded and glances over towards Flame.

Flame hadn't moved from where she'd been on the bed. She'd changed the channels a couple more times and stopped on what appeared to be a crime drama where fictional murders were solved by a team working together. She was watching it a bit, but mostly just listening to what was going on while playing a game on her phone.
When Wolf emerged from the bathroom, the hedgehog cast him a glance, but had nothing to say at the moment.

Wolf says nothing in reply either as he starts making his way back towards the bed. Again, he glances towards the main door of the motel room as he heads to the bed.

Without glancing up from her cell phone, Flame commented, "You're gonna make me paranoid again if you keep lookin' at the door, y'know."

Wolf glances at Flame.

"Something caught my attention when I walked past. Don't know if it means anything." he says, "Just another feeling I guess."

"Do you have weird psychic powers?" the hedgehog asked, "You did... somethin' out there when you were fighting earlier. Sparks or somethin' like that?"

"None that I have ever been made aware of..." Wolf replies.

He sits back down on the edge of the bed.

"And I don't know what that was... I thought it was something that coyote did." he adds.
