Horizon Reach corporation and the Replicant.

The H.R.C (Horizon Reach Corporation) began it's life as a small collection of Station Square scientists who set out to make radical breakthroughs in terms of science for the better sake of the planet, as the years went by the corporation began to expand, build wealth and also establish itself as a solid institution in the coming years, after a good track record and numerous break through's, the United Federation began to back and fund the Corporation building its stature higher and more powerful. Within a couple of years, Horizon Reach had gone from a small team to a massive conglomerate corporation. It would not be long till they shifted their attention towards more "military and defense research."

After several projects on new weapon types and equipment passed G.U.N's own military, the Guardian units of nations took them under contract as a new but sort of behind closed doors contractor, while the Corporation continued to climb the ladder, notable signs of change were coming about, most of the original founding staff had left due to conflicting ideas upon which direction to follow, those who voted for more research to be funded in more projects that did not involve the military lost horribly in favor of those who did.

With Horizon reach now under new leadership from more radical upcoming personal, they would continue to work for both the United Federation and G.U.N, however, it was only a matter of time before the oh so perfect and gleaming corporation took a serious dive. As more time went on the Corporation began to push its limits and boundaries, its massive successful previous projects and triumphs only pushed the personal to go further, deeper and more into the unknown.

The first of these great pushes was the infamous Project Arkgate. the desire for instant teleportation from one point to the next, H.R.C had been working undercover for years trying to develop a device that could transport either personal or equipment rapidly from one location to the next. During its tests, it was noted that objects made it through untouched but when live subjects were used, they either went insane or for some reason exploded. Work continued until a major breakthrough happened.  A lead scientist by the name of Dr.Novak discovered the way in order to get personal through unharmed, however, his sudden change in calculations resulted in another event altogether.

When the gateway was reopened it was seen that his sudden shift had instead ripped a rift into reality, the teleportation device became a portal into the unknown, teams were sent in to investigate the strange world, that made very little sense and had a disturbing and dark feeling, it is here they made contact with the "Dark Ones" the first inncident was a blood bath as the expedition teams were torn to shreds, thankfully however high-end security managed to either kill or subdue the creatures. These creatures were later experimented and tested on.

With a dark secret tucked away life continued as normal, H.R.C had been learning about these Dark ones and the world they came from, H.R.C even went to the extent of attempted cybernetic upgrades and weaponization, believing these creatures could be potential weapons. However, Project Arkgate would not last forever, as for what was referred to as the " Dark wave" threw everything into complete chaos. The gateways fail safe device failed and a massive influx of Dark ones entered the complex killing everything that was living in the base, all security teams were sent in to deal with the threat and contain the situation, however within 2 hours all by one had been torn to shreds by the Dark ones.

One soldier managed to survive being torn to shreds and with the help of Dr.Novak he was able to stop the invasion before it escalated any further. After the crisis was over, G.U.N black ops forces who were actually private forces of H.R.C were mobilized to clean up the situation, eliminating any and all evidence and witnesses from the event, but the lone soldier who was responsible for stopping the invasion managed to escape, H.R.C and G.U.N personnel sealed off the site and had a containment zone around the area, strangely, however, was the vanishing of the Gate way, the device had simply disappeared and was never seen again.

Two years onward the H.R.C continued its research into the unknown and its take on questionable ethics would take another turn into the realms of playing god. H.R.C began to work on another project commission by the board of directors called "Project Evolution" The project was set about creating a new breed of soldiers for both the military of G.U.N and those of the private military force of H.R.C. The reason for this was to create soldiers who could tackle more dangerous threats in the world, whereas G.U.N had been able to keep the peace, some enemies were simply too much to handle, these new soldiers would be the answer. 

The project once more went to the extreme's to create the ideal soldiers, H.R.C carried covert operations in capture living beings of both human and Mobian origin to use as test subjects with the project, once the said personal was captured most of their memory were erased. They were attempting to take the best of both worlds and effectively merge them into one, taking the abilities and unique traits of Mobians such as speed , agility, various powers and other attributes and combine it with the brute strength and psychical look of a human ( Where Echo came to be) 

The end result were super soldiers to no less degree, faster, stronger , more intelligent, superior reflexes and more, to save time, the soldiers were programmed with all the information about combat, armed with the latest gear and weapons, these troops would be loyal, take orders without question and carry them out to the very end. These troops would be known as the "Replicant" as each soldier were more or less the same as the one next to him. Within the next two years, Replicant soldiers were tested again and again with each and every time far outperforming regular G.U.N forces with little to no effort. As the times went on various types of these soldiers began to emerge, different classes and roles from the basic soldier to special forces with advanced  cloaking tech, to heavily armored troops who could soak up bullets acting as a spearhead. The program was an ultimate success, but H.R.C were not finished and wanted to go another step further.

Another project was established to work alongside Evolution.."Project Synchronicity" Upon discovering that some of the Mobian's they had captured had a very strong phsyic like ability, the Corporation wondered if they could give the Replicant the same Phsyic attributes. The project was set out to tamper with this ability and those who used it, Those unfortunate Mobians were brutally treated and experimented on with in a good few years. All subjects except for one died as a result of the process. Subject 292 who was a Mobian female managed to survive all the experimentation and pass to continue with the project, somehow H.R.C was able to transfer her Phsyic like ability to those of the Replicant soldiers, with was known as the "Synchronicity event" The soldiers were now directly linked to her and could have commands issued to them without the need of using a radio to speak to her. Tests were shown that whatever she told them to do in her mind they would receive and do straight away, this was a huge milestone. This breakthrough meant the Replicant soldiers with her at their command could change and adapt to tactics faster and quicker than any other force on the planet, even if she was miles away orders could still be received and carried out as normal.  However the project was not all perfect, Subject 292 had been experiencing terrible nightmares of the torture like environment she had been subjected to. Her anger and pain grew along with her psychic ability. 

The "Uprising" was an event where Subject 292 snapped and took control of the Replicant forces turning them on H.R.C personal, there sudden linkage to the soldiers meant that she had complete control over these soldiers, for 6 hours a battle between Replicant and H.R.C private forces waged, until Subject 292 was sedated and the soldiers shut down. It was concluded that after the event the Soldiers seemed unable to operate without her link, they were just standing there dormant unable to move. She was moved to a stasis zone to be monitored.

However it was not long till signs of her Phsyic power began to rise once more, in fear of another event, Subject 292 was terminated and left in her stasis pod. While killing her stopped another possible uprising, it was only the beginning of a grim and dark path,  Project Synchronicity was shut down, instead, they moved onto creating a type of leader who was already a subject of Project Evolution to lead the new troops but something paranormal was brewing.

Alpha was the name given to the leader of the Replicant forces, he was trained to be a type of commander who would use the same abilities as Subject 292 but with in a more controlled environment. His psychic entity was heavily increased so he could control them, but this was leading to dangerous territory, he to began to experience nightmares of similar origin. What was even more disturbing was that the spirit of Subject 292 was still around, she was psychically powerful enough that her ghost would remain to haunt the facilities of H.R.C, during one night she convinced Alpha to find the stasis pod her body was in..to set her free. Overwhelmed by the Phsyic power, Alpha snapped and took control of the Replicant soldiers once more, another covert battle began to wage as Alpha and the Replicants fought their way to the location of where she was being held...However just before he could release her, a bullet hit him in the head, killing Alpha and stopping the second event.

With Alpha dead and evidence that Subject 292 was still a potential threat, the facility of which project Synchronicity was conducted was shut down and sealed away, however Project Evolution continued as normal, with an estimated 2 battalion size of Replicant troops were produced, with the program cut they had to rework the Replicant soldiers so they could function on their own accord, this meant they had to give free will to them but of course very limited. This change in design would lead to another issue, however, an issue that sparked interest rather than a crisis, over time some Replicant soldiers began to show signs of "Self-awareness" events such as questioning orders, having attitude, unique personality traits and more began to grow from certain members of the force. While originally before, any Replicant that had a defect such as this was terminated, these were now being studied to see how far they could push the limits, a particular Replicant soldier designation Echo 508 was the more interesting of the cases, he seemed to act and function normal but had often wondered off on his own accord, spending time watching and learning others in the world when he was deployed, and sometimes marking his gear with unique quirks. Echo 508 still followed orders to the letter, but H.R.C were worried that these kinds of behavior could lead to another revolt, only this time there would be no way to deactivate them, 3 years pass and no signs of any revolt took place the questionable and highly dangerous experimentation of the H.R.C continues to this day..as its dark secrets are locked away from the world's eyes. 

Status

The H.R.C is an immensely powerful corporation, with some of the leading technology in the world, they are wealthy enough to own its own private military force and is being backed by various groups to continue its research, notable locations of facilities line the planet, with most being concealed or underground.

H.R.C has a private military force of G.U.N and its own armed forces to protect itself if threatened by external or internal threats, their military also uses Replicant soldiers who are highly trained, heavily armed super soldiers, they also employ a number of vehicles from Gunships to mech's

Deployment

H.R.C can deploy Replicant forces when either they need them or if G.U.N Calls on them, they generally deploy in platoon sizes via Gunships to locations. Replicant forces identity are concealed behind gear as not to give away any ID of public personnel who may recognize them, Speical forces teams are deployed in smaller teams and in more dangerous roles, backup is on standby in the form of mech's and gunships. Replicant forces are also used to do covert work for H.R.C, most notably the raiding and capturing of personal from towns for Project Evolution. 


Replicant soldier

The Replicant soldier is a prototype super human soldiers created with the merged DNA of Mobians and humans, they are far superior to that of any G.U.N military forces other than its special ops units, they are highly trained ( Programmed) and heavily armed, currently there are an estimated 3000 Replicant soldiers in active service, Replicant soldiers during the first years could not function without a leader, they would shut down and go dormant once the link was cut, however after the events of the two uprisings, Replicant units were given limited free will allow them to function without one, Replicant forces are still able to receive information from any psychic being that is close enough to them, however they still rely on typical radios to communicate from a distance among one another. Each Replica is given a military call sign along with a number such as Echo 12 , Zulu 9 , Bravo 97 and Echo 508 In combat Replicant soldiers are highly effective and adaptive, quickly changing tactics to overcome their enemy, it is estimated that given enough time Replicant forces can beat almost any enemy.


Training and development

Replicant training is only is carried out in tests, as each Replicant developed they are programmed with information, the reason for this was to speed up production of the soldiers, with in mere hours these beings who may of never had any experience will wake with all the combat training they could want, Tests are carried out time and time again to display if the new Replicant meets the standards, any severe defect in the Replicant resorts to him being terminated on sight, Replicant have under gone rather brutal treatment, staff at H.R.C be little them, look down upon them as nothing more then weapons and numbers and have subjected a lot to years of experimentation and development often at times H.R.C high ranks look at the Replicant as expendable weapons and not living beings. A Replicant is produced by mixing the DNA of a human and Mobian subject together called the "slice operation" once that is completed the subject is left to whether in a stasis tank until such time as the DNA merge and take effect, the subject is then moved onto programming but before that happens they are, checked for signs of defects. Subjects for Replicant development are often kidnapped from quiet isolated towns via the use of Replicant forces.  



Weakness

While having a psychic structure built into them is a huge bonus it is also a weakness, Replicant forces who suffer extreme overload of psychic energy can cause soldiers to freak out, shut down or simply die from the exposure, in some rare occasions it is almost possible for a being with a powerful enough psychic power to take control of them for limited periods of time which would be bad for anyone on the other hand.-

numbers prove to be the other weakness, While other military like factions have a huge range of forces, the Replicant are still small and limited to what they can deploy, often leading to smaller operations and basic quick missions rather then long drawn out battles. 

Behavior

replicants know very little other than fighting and combat, however with the newly granted free will a good few have been seen mimicking and learning as they are exposed to the environment around them, which has lead to certain individual's such as Echo 508 creating his own personality, It is unclear how much they can learn and develop but so far there has been no signs of a limit. In combat Replicants are determined fighters, almost unbreakable moral and often will fight till there is just a few left before calling in for backup, they have a very high sense of smell, sight and hearing allowing them to detect even the most stealthiest of beings and be extremely vigilant of the surroundings. 

Gear.

Replicant forces are divided into various units ranging from basic soldiers to elite special forces, Riot control , mechanized units and assassins, each unit is geared with various advanced equipment, regular forces are comprised both thick body armor, elbow , kneed pads, a full covering helmet, various headgear and camouflage patterns, they are armed with extremely dangerous and versatile weapons, Other units such as Riot control and heavy forces are fitted with thick padding protection allowing them to soak damage up and keep on moving, Special ops teams have the best gear, with some even having personal cloaking tech.

Aside from the troops they can call in robotic mechanised units and helicopter gunships to aid them.

I was wondering what you were planning with them. Were they inspired by the Game F.E.A.R.?

( They had some influence from F.E.A.R but they are really a mix of a whole bunch spanding various games, mixes like U.A.C , G.U.N , ATC and many more they more or less stand out as a unique faction but have similar ties to other ones.)
