In the Middle of Summer

"Maybe, or you'll end up vulnerable to a tickling." he says, glancing over at her.

The Klee Kai lowered her camera back down.
"Oh ho no," she replied as she started to laugh, "If you put me over your shoulder to tickle me again, it's on! And I won't rest until I do find where you're ticklish!"

"Huh, okay." Wolf replies, "We'll just have to see how that goes for you then. You'll probably be breathless and sprawled out before you can do much to me."

"I dunno, we've only duked it out a couple of times," Reena grinned, "I might still be able to surprise you!"

"And I will likely be able to do the same." he replies, "I think that still gives me the advantage."

He smiles down at her.

Reena squinted her eyes at him in playful frustration. "I guess we'll just have to find out!" she shot back, "We got all the rest of today and at least tomorrow to do it!"

"Okay... but you're not allowed to complain if you pick a fight and I leave you hanging from a hook somewhere." Wolf replies, smirking at her.

"I don't think you get to decide when or what I complain about, actually." Reena stuck her tongue out at the wolf in response. "If you do hang me up somewhere, I'll be sure to make as much noise as possible until someone gets me down!"

Wolf continues to smirk as they keep walking along towards the beach.

Reena didn't take too many more photos as they walked along. She'd already been through this area on her first attempt to get to the beach and gotten plenty of pictures then. For now, she was content with making small talk for the rest of the walk. With the pair moving at a slower pace than when it had been storming on them, it was a longer trip. But the before too much longer, the vast open sea came in to sight up ahead as they finally reached the boardwalk again.

Reena paused to look around and glanced over at Wolf. "So! Now that you're not just passing through, did you see anything interesting out here earlier that you wanted to check out?" she asked.

Wolf seems to enjoy the light banter between them as they walk. At Reena's latest question, he glances around then looks back towards her and shrugs slightly.

"Nothing really comes to mind." he replies, "I don't really do very much exploring in places like this."

"Then it looks like it's strollin' time!" Reena smiled.
The dog turned to head off to the left, but as she did, she also reached out and grabbed hold of Wolf's right paw with her left. She didn't say anything about it and just started walking, glancing about at things around them. On her earlier excursion, she hadn't gotten over to this side of the boardwalk, so everything here was new to her.

Wolf glances down as Reena takes hold of his paw and then starts to walk, guiding him along behind her.

"So do you have any sort of plan in mind then?" he asks.

"Nope! At least not until we get hungry," Reena replied, "But I had a snack right before we met earlier so I'm alright for now." She glanced back at Wolf. "What about you?"

"Oh... I haven't eaten in a while." he replies, "But I did eat a fair amount, so I should be good for a while."

Reena's ears perked up. "When was the last time you ate?" she asked him. She pulled forward on his paw, trying to urge him to walk beside her so she wouldn't have to keep looking back at him.

Wolf takes her hint and falls into step, almost beside her, but not quite.

"Uh... hmmm... some time before midday." he replies.

"Oh, phew." Reena let out a breath of relief. "I thought you were gonna say a couple of days ago! I would have had to just start shoving food in into your face!" she commented playfully, "What'd you have?"

"Some fish and fruit mainly." he replies.

"Stuff you caught and picked yourself?" the Klee Kai asked curiously.

She was still looking about as they walked, noting several gift and souvenir shops. The smell of food was heavy in the air as well with many food stands and small restaurants around. It did make her feel rather snacky already and she was taking note of options as they passed by.

Wolf nods in reply.

"That I did. Catching took some time. Finding at least was a lot easier." he says.

He sniffs the air as they walk, catching the scent of food there.

"How do you do the catching?" Reena asked, "Do you just like, wham!" She made a quick grabbing gesture with her free paw. "Snatch 'em out of the water? Or do you have a collapsible fishing rod? Or do you use your sword?"

"Using a sword can work. I use a long, pointy stick if I can." he says, "Catching them in my paws is usually a better option in deep water where you can swim. But that is really hard most of the time."

"Man, I bet that'd make for some great photos," Reena sighed out, almost a little dreamily. She seemed to snap out of it fairly quickly, though. "We so have to plan a camping trip together in the future!" the dog urged, squeezing his paw briefly and looking at him again.

"I don't know about that." Wolf replies, "You really sure you want to be out in the middle of nowhere with me, where any sort of crazy things could happen?"
