Travis "Raven" McGable (Updated and hopefully finished) Empty Re: Travis "Raven" McGable (Updated and hopefully finished)

(Updated)
Name: Travis McGable
Nicknames: Raven, The Self-Proclaimed “James Bond” of mercenaries.
Age: 46
Species: Human
Gender: Male
Occupation: Mercenary

Base of Operations: Mobile

Date of Birth: June 7th.

Appearance: Raven, a tall, lean, Caucasian man, has brown eyes, and a masculine, rough, somewhat unattractive look to him along with a full beard, a dreadlock ponytail haircut style, and battle scars such as stab wounds, gunshot wounds, and cuts which always tends to make people feel very uncomfortable. While he has naturally light brown hair, he has purposely dyed his hair and beard to a dark brown color. When given the chance, he will take certain designer suits over his bland street clothes which include camouflaged pants, a white T-shirt, a black leather jacket, and green running shoes. It is also important to note that Travis intentionally wears any pair of gloves he wants when not on a contract. The reasoning as to why Travis wears gloves will both be revealed not only in here, but in his personality traits as well. When out doing a job, Travis has a fully customizable light, flexible, blood red exoskeleton suit that offers full mobility but little protection due to its thin layer of armor which covers everything except for Travis’ left arm due to the fact that his whole entire left arm is actually a modified robotic limb used for combat purposes. The exoskeleton suit has a wide range of customizable parts from armor shape, something which Travis seldom bothers with as to keep full mobility, to even the slightest of details like types of screws or latches used to keep the suit together. Travis has a collection masks which go with his exoskeleton suit. Unlike his exoskeleton suit, Travis’ masks have a thick layer of armor designed to stop bullets from piercing into his skull. Each mask has a decal designed on them such as a skull, a sinister, grinning face, and so on and so forth. All of Travis’ masks are the same in design, excluding the decals.

All of his masks have small, circular openings in the front to allow him to see as well as an opening in the back to allow his ponytail to flow freely since he finds it annoying to try and cram his hair in his mask.

Travis has only a few pouches for his ammo due to the fact that he likes to have as much mobility as possible. He will always have two holsters on his back, one being for a lightweight, metallic staff which can be modified to activated electricity to shock opponents, fire a single shotgun shell, or even fire small, specialized grenades. The other holster is for a high tech katana that he calls the “Answer”. Travis has a weapons holster on each hip as well as a large holster for whatever large weapon he wishes to bring. To add to his suit, Travis has a knife holster on the left side of his stomach.

Travis' second professional outfit, which he is going to gain in a future role play, consists of a hooded, long-sleeved, heavy, fur jacket, grey gloves, a mask with goggles sewn in which help him see at night, see heat signatures, and see electromagnetic fields or energy, grey thermal winter pants, and winter hiking boots. On Travis' left side of his stomach is a holster for his knife should he decide to take it. Travis has two holsters on his back for his customizable sword and a rifle of his choosing. On Travis' left hip is a sidearm should he ever become disarmed of his primary weapons. On his right calf is another holster for another knife.

(Because it's easier to just write instead of going back and changing info that's been a bit jumbled up, please ignore anything saying that Travis only has one arm). After being captured by the Slayer Squad and receiving a bullet to the skull, Gahiji Okonjo decided to make a sick, macabre decision and take Travis' other arm as a trophy. After being rescued and having a surgery performed on him, Travis now wields two, highly advanced, prosthetic arms capable of getting him through the day.

References: I ain’t got none.

Personality traits

Likes: Designer suits, muscle cars, penthouses, living on top, money, a special robot friend, Torque, old rock music, exercising, action movies, and blue lady helleborus flowers.

Dislikes: Being tricked, making rookie mistakes, people asking about his robotic arm, failing a contract to a rival mercenary, GUN, and leg day.

Personality: Travis is a complex individual just like everyone else. What makes Travis different from your regular mercenary is that he keeps almost everything in a professional manner and holds no grudges unless he has been done wrong by his employer. Travis shows no sorrow for his targets and if asked why he is doing whatever it is he is doing, he will coldly reply, “It’s business. Nothing personal.” Travis is calm, cool, and collected no matter what situation he may be in. Despite the fact that he feels no sorrow for his victims, Travis will sometimes have nightmares about the people he has killed. Although he is a mercenary, Travis does have some rather strange morals. One of his morals led to the termination of the partnership between him and GUN. The reason behind the termination of the partnership was because Travis criticized GUN for "masquerading" around as peacemakers even though they use violence against violence even though Travis will have no problem working with someone who is evil. There are certain situations where Travis will be more laid back such as being with a trusted friend or lover, but in the case of a lover it’s more different than that. When Travis is around a lover or someone he has a romantic interest in, he will be more sincere, caring, and protective of that person which is odd given his nature as a mercenary. Travis personality stems from the fact that he was involved in the now defunct Slayer Squad, an exclusive group of only about four mercenaries, including Travis, that recruits promising GUN agents. Well… promising in their eyes anyways.

Travis likes to minimize risks so as to be as careful as possible, so if he needs to take the roundabout way of accomplishing an objective then he’ll do just that. There are times where Travis’ greed will get the best of him and he’ll stay loyal to whoever is feeding his greedy side. Travis tends to wear suits, long-sleeved shirts, and jackets along with gloves to cover up his robotic arm. The reasoning behind this is because it isn’t “therapy hour” for everyone who’s concerned about his robotic limb. The only one he allows to be concerned about his robotic arm is a special robot friend of his. Travis does things even he doesn't know why he's doing them. Most of the time, despite being ruthless, Travis just wants to do the right thing or what he believes is just ever since he saw Sammie kidnapped. Although Travis still has his "it's just business" attitude, he is learning more and more away from the whole entire mercenary business since he thinks that the risks are becoming more dangerous than ever. One unknown side of Travis is his "Raven" identity. The Raven identity began to develop after Travis unsuccessfully tried to kill himself due to the physical abuse he endured during his time with the Slayer Squad. After completing his initiation mission, Travis was nicknamed "Raven" to symbolize that he was now a death-dealing machine. Travis didn't realize it at the moment, but he unconsciously nicknamed his other identity as "Raven." Raven is a sadistic, uncaring person who is only concerned with financial benefit and has an addiction of which I can't state on here due to PG-13 reasons. This explains the many girlfriends that Travis has had over the years and the fact that he seems uncaring about those he inflict harm upon. Travis doesn't realize this, but his Raven identity is often in control of most of the things that he chooses to do. Raven will often make up excuses for his attitude which don't make sense. This Raven identity was developed so that Travis could cope with all the pain and misery that he's faced.

Combat traits

Powers: None.

Strengths:
- Tactically sound
- Calm, cool, collected.
- Can repair anything due to his experience fixing tech with the Slayer squad.
- Acrobatic.
- Uses stealth to his advantage.
- Combat ready which means he has a lot of endurance.
- 20 years experience as a mercenary.
- Varies weaponry, technology, and tactics.
- Robotic arm can be used for various purposes and also aids in combat by stabilizing the recoil of a weapon if Travis uses his robotic arm to shoot with.
- Tries to upgrade his weapons and armor when not on missions.
- Resilient.
- Minimizes risks.

Weaknesses:
- Magic attacks (fire, ice, and etc.) can quickly end him.
- With the right equipment, his suit can become detectable.
- Thin layer of armor for protection.
- Suit is susceptible to hackers.
- Robotic arms are susceptible to hackers and if hacked, his arms will become very heavy to the point where he will be rendered immobile.
- Will make mistakes. Just because he’s a mercenary doesn’t mean he’s not prone to mistakes.
- Will match savagery with savagery in melee.
- His greed makes him easier to stab in the back.
- Technomagic will also take him down quickly.
- Limited ammo.
- Can be taken down easily if engaged in a firefight.
- Will sometimes overthink things.
- Weak anti-hacking systems.
- Can only modify his suit once before every mission and can only use one type of upgrade for each part of his suit.
- Upgrades will have a high chance to become faulty and may malfunction along with other systems.
- There will be days where he's off his game due to sickness or personal problems.
- Travis' rough look can make people so uncomfortable that they'll call the police on him. So when out in public, Travis has to cover up his battle wounds.
- Despite being physically healthy, Travis isn't the most muscular of guys and can get overwhelmed by someone who is heavier than him.
- When the adrenaline starts to kick in, Travis will start to make major mistakes and think less about what his opponent is going to do, leaving himself open to a finishing move or something that will damage him severely.
- Travis' rage will sometimes blind him from what's right and wrong and will leave him vulnerable to bigger, more deadly counterattacks.
- Travis has another side to him known as Raven. Raven can be sadistic and uncaring which can compell Travis to do things he normally wouldn't do.

Social information

Positive relations:
- Torque (Deceased): Torque is a cyborg human standing at 5'10, weighing 225 lbs, and deals in exclusive black market weapons and tech. Not much is known about Torque since no records of him officially exist. After being forced to meet Travis in person, they soon started to develop a brotherly bond after Travis took care of several tasks for Torque. Torque takes care of Travis and Travis takes care of Torque. Torque died in his home after several hired professionals broke into his hideout. Although Torque tried to fight back, his attackers proved to be too much and shot him 35 times in various locations.

- Bliss the Robot (Deceased): Created as a white-furred, anthropomorphic, robotic wolf standing around 5’7 tall, Bliss and Travis met when Travis was sent to destroy her as part of an initiation into the Slayer Squad. At the time, Bliss was badly damaged due to no one caring for her and just wanted to be left alone. Travis just barely survived Bliss’ attack due to pure luck since Bliss got herself trapped in Travis’ holonet. When Bliss started cry out in sadness, Travis was surprised by her sudden change of heart and for the fact that he never saw a robot show emotion. Travis investigated the cause and found out that she was sad because no one cared for her enough to repair. Travis, feeling bad for her, cut the net and repaired her to her original state. Bliss was surprised by this and asked why a human would help her. Travis took off his long-sleeved shirt, exposing his robotic arm and stated, “We’re not that much different, you and I. Only difference is our appearance.” This would become the start of a complicated relationship between Bliss and Travis. When asked for her name, Bliss replied that she had no name so Travis gave her the name Bliss for seeming so full of joy. After staying for so long, Travis returned to the Slayer Squad who questioned whether or not he accomplished the job. When Travis replied that he didn’t, the Slayer Squad took him and punished him severely. A few nights later Bliss came to visit only to find a silent, bruised Travis sitting in the corner. When asking what happened, Travis said, “If you stay here… I’m gonna do something neither of us will like.” With that, Bliss ran away. Nowadays, Bliss is a teacher at an elementary school at an undisclosed location. Bliss was killed in a car "accident" one day. Despite the medical team's best efforts, Bliss ended up shutting down and was unable to come back online. While popular belief points towards the work of a hit man, evidence still claims that the whole event was an accident.

- Randall the White Tiger (Deceased): 7'0 tall, 300 lbs, buff, this all explains wealthy businessman Randall who freed Travis from prison and gives him the best that life has to offer. The official story behind Randall's death is that his own security force killed him when he went on a drug-induced rampage. The unofficial story is that the Slayer Squad killed him so that Randall wouldn't try to protect his number one mercenary.

Serena: An ex-girlfriend of Travis, Serena is a wolf hitwoman who is capable of carrying out somewhat difficult contracts. After learning that the Slayer Squad was planning on killing Travis, she secretly followed the Slayer Squad and rescued Travis from a watery grave. Now, Serena gives Travis information on his surroundings, equipment, mission status, and enemy status.

Sammie: Sammie is Travis' sidekick and little weapons upgrader. Sammie is currently captured by the infamous Slayer Squad and Travis is finding a way to rescue her from a fate worse than death.

Negative relations:
- GUN: Criticism of the worldwide military force made by Travis garnered him an infamous reputation among the organization and possibly a bounty on his head. Keyword being possibly.

The Slayer Squad: Ever since being done wrong by the Slayer Squad, Travis has vowed for a way to get his revenge for taking Sammie and for betraying him despite having done nothing to wrong them besides leaving.

Lover(s): None.

Crush(es): Bliss the Robot.

History: When searching around the internet for Travis' childhood years, you're going to find a bunch of corrupted and scrambled up data. You will, however, will find that he was born somewhere in the United Federation, but as to where exactly, no one knows. Travis had dreams of becoming something of a military hero for his country so when he was out of school, he found a professional to forge his birth certificate and personal identification card for a good sixty grand since the legal age to join GUN was 17. Travis was only 16 at the time and how he managed to get sixty grand is anyone's guess. Despite being physically fit from playing football in high school, Travis' attitude, usefulness, and combat skills were beyond awful. Travis snickered uncontrollably after every insult directed to others, become cocky and tried to lead squads he was a part of despite being a lower rank, and even though they were mock battles, he put himself and all of his teammates in harm's way, and could not even shoot properly. A lot of people thought he was the worst GUN recruit ever. Tedious chores and extra hours exercising seemed to do nothing to change his personality. When Travis turned 17, the infamous Slayer Squad, a group of mercenaries who signed a five year contract with GUN and, even though all the members were GUN operatives, does things the way they see fit and aren't held down by the rules of engagement and regulations like GUN operatives are, visited the training grounds. Despite the best GUN operatives finishing an intense tryout with flying colors, the Slayer Squad took a special interest in Travis. A lot of people didn't understand why since they didn't see anything special in Travis, but the Slayer Squad saw incredible potential in him. Unfortunately, they wouldn't take him in until next year on June 6th.

Once the time arrived, Travis travelled to an undisclosed location and started training with the Slayer Squad. When Travis made his usual mistakes, his mistakes were rewarded with pain and suffering. Through this, Travis' personality changed and he made sure not to make the same mistakes again. After going through a grueling 7 year and 7 day training process, the 25 year-old Travis was ordered by the female leader to eliminate a berserk, feminine robot created to entertain guests of whom he later befriended and named Bliss. The job was to be his initiation to become an official mercenary. After a long battle with Bliss, Travis repaired her and stayed with her for a long time. After he revealed his robotic arm, he was asked how he came to obtain one. Travis explained that he was involved in a mock battle set up by the Slayer Squad. To serve as a lesson to always be on guard, the leader of the Slayer Squad threw an actual grenade towards Travis' position. Mistaking it for a dud, Travis went to pick it up and lost his entire left arm once it exploded. As a result, Travis learned a lesson and gained a robotic arm since the Slayer Squad medic refused to sew Travis' arm back. After staying for so with Bliss, Travis went back to the Slayer Squad and told them that he couldn't finish the job.

For his failure to carry out an order, he was tortured for a very, very long time before finally being released. Bliss knew where Travis stayed since he told her and snuck in to see him. A bruised and bloody Travis was sitting in the corner of his room, refusing to let anyone touch him. He sent Bliss away for fear that he might hurt her and now knows nothing about her whereabouts. 3 months later, Travis was ordered to eliminate a resident of Knothole along with her family in any fashion he pleases. Once the night came, Travis got the job done. It didn't matter how he did it as long as he got it done. The job was put up to see if Travis could handle doing unspeakable things and he could. Once he returned, he acquired the codename "Raven," a common symbol of death. Travis was now a weapon of death and had exclusive access to the exoskeleton suit he wears today along with his katana. He went along with the Slayer Squad on several missions before finally having permission to complete his own contracts. Most of the contracts involved Travis working alongside GUN to bring peace to hostile nations.

After a few years of seeing how GUN operates, Travis criticized the organization for "masquerading around as a peacemaker but use violence against violence which just leads to more violence." Travis then left the Slayer Squad, which was later disbanded due to teamwork issues, and refused to work any further with GUN because he refuses to work with people or organizations that say they're one thing but are actually another. Over the years, Travis gained experience as a mercenary from being highly recommended by the people who hired him. You can also find him on the Dark Web if you want to risk it. By the time Travis was 33, the top GUN agents began to either disappear or were forced to retire after tragic, suspicious accidents. Whether or not this is Travis' doing, no one knows for sure but it is highly likely. On June 7th, Travis, who just turned 45, was setting up for an assassination contract on the United Federation's President for 1 trillion. Torque, Travis' cyborg friend whom Travis met in his earlier years, provided the blueprints to the hotel where the president was staying at. Travis almost ended up succeeding were it not for the fact that government agents were already alerted to Travis' presence since the exoskeleton suit he was wearing could easily be picked up on specialized radars designed to pick up things like Travis' suit. Because of this, the government agents were able to disable Travis' suit and robotic arm as soon as he stepped inside the President's bedroom and became immobile. After a few months in a maximum security prison, Travis was freed thanks to a wealthy businessman, Randall the White Tiger, who paid just enough to free him. Now, Travis is living on top, going to fancy places, living in penthouses, and more, but he'll only stay on top if he protects Randall. One day, Travis was called in to commence what he and Randall have called as the Parasite Conspiracy. Travis was to sabotage drinking wells in Mobian villages with harmless parasites that cause stomach pains so that Randall would hand out placebos to scam Mobians out of their money. The event, however, took a different turn as Blitz got involved along with Malware, an extreme anarchist. Travis attempted to evade Blitz only to have been outnumbered by her army. Malware and his adolescent army of brash anarchists took advantage of the situation and stole Travis' staff that was armed with the parasites. Malware planned to use the parasites to infect politicians, lawyers, and anyone else he deemed corrupt. With the help of Wolfgang, a wandering wolf, Travis attempted to gain back his staff.

The mission, however, went south despite Travis destroying his staff. Blitz somehow managed to get samples of the parasites to modify them, and a lot of unnecessary deaths occurred which garnered the media's attention. Travis went back home in defeat. When confronted by Randall, Travis learned of a robot that was to replace him and of the mainstream media catching wind of the events that occurred. The mainstream media dubbed the event the "Deathclinch" due to Malware sending a warning that the government was going to pay for the deaths of his followers. No attention was paid to either Blitz or Travis.

Construction of Randall's robot ceased after he was killed by his "own" security team. Travis had no knowledge of the event since he left months before Randall's death, believing to have already been replaced by a machine. While wandering around in the many cities that he visited, Travis encountered a then desperate Sammie Lapp who had stolen one of his weapons to sell off for money. Travis cornered and caught Sammie Lapp and regained his weapon. Sammie, through deception, had placed a homemade flashbang grenade right under Travis' feet. Travis became stunned by the grenade and had to hunt Sammie again since she stole his weapon once again. After an exhausting chase through the back alleys, Travis caught Sammie only to find that she had somehow disassembled his powerful sniper rifle and reassembled it with rare, powerful upgrades. Impressed by her knowledge of weaponry, Travis took in the orphan and raised her as if she were his own daughter.

Through Torque's lessons, Sammie was able to learn how to craft professional, nonlethal gear for Travis. Eventually, Travis took Sammie along for a contract and found out that she would make for an excellent sidekick. A month later, Travis was contacted by his old mercenary team, the Slayer Squad, to rejoin their ranks. Travis politely declined but offered to help them with any favors that they ask of him. One favor asked of him was to set up mines around a numbers station of theirs. Travis completed the task through Sammie.

Sammie was kidnapped by Barbas, and Travis went looking for her at her last known location. There, Travis met Blitz and the wandering wolf, Wolfgang, once more. He also met Envy and Washon'Jour for the first time. Mistaking the group for Sammie's kidnappers, Travis very nearly engaged in combat after being joined by Gahiji who told him that the group was the one who flood an entire village. Were it not for Wolfgang's silver tongue, Travis would've fought the group. Instead, Travis learned that he was betrayed by his former teammates and attempted to kill Gahiji. Lin, a member of the Slayer Squad fired upon the group and knocked Travis out. After completing a lengthy journey to the sea via helicopter, Travis lost both his arm to Kelly Wilson, his old boss, after being captured by the Slayer Squad. Shot in the head and left for dead, Travis fell into the sea and later washed up on the nearest beach. Fortunately, he was found on the verge of death by a Mobian couple. He was then transported to a European style hospital and fell into a six-month coma. He awoke to remember nothing about what has happened to him and his friends. The doctors decided that it was best that Travis not find out about recent events. After a few months of rehabilitation and exercising, Travis was deemed well enough to once again go out into the world. He tried to search for his friends and old boss but soon discovered that they had all died under suspicious circumstances. Devastated by the loss of everything he ever came to know, Travis needed a few hours to go through his emotions.

After Travis had mourned the loss of his friends, memories of what had happened to him came flooding back into his mind and he set out on a quest to bring back the only person that he knew in his heart was still alive. That person was Sammie Lapp. Travis once again took up his arms and began to wear his iconic winter outfit. Now that Travis is awake, he is solely focused on rescuing Sammie through any means possible.

Extra Fact(s):
- People who know about Raven's complex relationship with Bliss tend to wonder how a romantic relationship between a human and a robot will work out. When asked this, Travis will simply try his best to move on to the next topic.

- Travis tends to avoid the subject of who all he's killed.
