Strings Of Fate & Falling

Max couldn't help but smile. He brushed her hair away from her face and smiled. "As beautiful as the day I met you." He muttered. "I'll never leave you roxy.... You and I... Are forever... Right?" He looked to her. He looked to the gloves he wore. The same ones he had gotten from her six years ago. He sighed as they floated on the water. He pulled out his ocarina and began to play.

Roxanne seemed to hear the music in her sleep and smiled before tiredly humming along with the tune. Since Max played it a lot around her, she became familiar with most of his songs. She hummed quietly as she curled in on herself further.

Max smile as he played the song through. Then once he finished he leaned in and kissed her gently on the lips. "Sweet dreams roxy" he said as he started to paddle for shore. A raft wasn't probably the most comfortable place to sleep

Another soft sigh came out of her as she rolled over onto her other side, her tail curling up around her body as if to warm herself a little. She inhaled and exhaled slowly, as a hand of hers reached out subconsciously, murmuring.

Max looked to her and stopped paddling. He wrapped his body around hers and heated his body up. The familiar warmth that he gave whenever thy slept in the same bed six years ago.

Roxanne hummed, nuzzling him subconsciously, but then she stirred as she opened her fluttering eyes. She grunted when her eyes widened, looking up at him.

She turned beet red as she looked between them. "Um...Max, what are you doing?" she asked, pulling away slightly.

Max blushed sitting up. "You looked cold and I couldn't lite a fire on the raft so I went with te next best option" he said as he grabbed a paddle and started to push them closer to the shore. "And if your gonna ask where kieko went you can ask him when he gets back"

Roxanne pulled away and looked down. "Oh, I see. Thank you, I guess. And I was wondering that because he was here with me not long ago. Wait. How long was I asleep?" she asked, looking up at him.

"At least a good hour." He said sitting there. "When I got here kieko left to do something and when I got on the raft you were fast asleep." He leaned back a little 'did she hear anything I said' he thought to himself.

Roxanne nodded before she started stretching her arms, groaning.

"I see. I hope he's alright." before she pouted at him, biting the inside of her cheek. "After what you did. I hope you apologised to him." she said, leaning in close with a slight frown, sticking out her bottom lip.

"I did and I told him I owe him big time." Max said looking directly into her eyes. "Anyway, anything you want to do roxy?" He asked. They were startig to float under some low hanging weeping willows. As it started to get dark fireflies started to light up around them

She hummed in thought before shaking her head. "I can't think of anything...though we could travel down the river a bit more, there's more we haven't seen yet." she suggested, bracing her arms behind her as she leaned back, looking at the willow tree and fireflies.

Max smiled. "A calm relaxing boat ride sounds fun with me." He said as he lay back in the boat looking upward. His eyes however floated to roxy.

She hummed, looking up as she closed her eyes, feeling a sense of peace. Roxanne heard several fireflies fly past her face but she didn't seem bothered as a smile appeared across her face. She stretched out her legs a little.

"I know for sure there's no activity down this part of the river. We've past all that." she assured, her eyes still closed.

Max smiled. Then he said. "Remember when we found that tropical cove together? You taught me how to swim" he said smilig. "And when you taught me you decided to talk all your cloths of. I wanted to be a gentleman and not look

Still with her eyes closed, she chuckled lowly. "Yeah, I remember that; it was a beautiful place." Then she snorted at his last sentence. "Though of course I didn't how big of a deal it was to do that back then. We were innocent kids after all, so don't worry, I won't be doing that again. Things are different now, and I have my dignity." she said.

"You might have to explain what's different." He said closing his eyes. "I'm still trying to wrap my head around it."

"Well I'm mature now, a teenager. So, I won't be doing that again, well, at least, not without so little thought." she clarified, blushing again before she shook it off, opening her eyes and looking at him.

Max looked up he sat up and hugged his legs. "That and I seem to be second fiddle next to kieko nowadays" he said "you seem to be spending more time with him."

Roxanne frowned slightly, looking guilty for a moment. "Maxus, I spent so much time with you recently and I didn't tell you this, but, I saw Kieko at his worst one night. I found out his father died from illness...and - " she sighed, looking to him. " - he was so lost and alone and he said that I was the only reason he decided to live on. I'm not trying to use that as an excuse, but, I've trying my best to spend as much time with him as I am with you and even three of us together. But, it's hard..." she said, her eyes lowering slightly. "I'm sorry if you felt that way."

Max looked up. Shocked. And then guilty. "Know I feel guilty for getting jealous. I had no idea." He looked down. He went completely silent after that.

Roxanne sighed. She really didn't want the atmosphere to change. "He asked me not to tell anyone else." she then leant forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "He's grateful to you too, you know. You're his friend too and that's what he needs right now, though it has been a long time since Asher's passing. He's full of life again because of us, and just focus on that, yeah?" she said, offering him a reassuring smile.

Max looked to her. "Some friend. I threw him into a girl mob" he said "though I guess I helped somehow."

Roxanne tut, shaking her head. "Of course you helped and besides, Kieko isn't that much of a grudging type. He's probably forgotten about it already, and no doubt he's already forgiven you too." she smiled, nudging him in the arm with her elbow teasingly.

Max smiled. "Why do I get the feeling your alway right?" He said chuckling. He looked at the time. "Good grief. Look at the time. It's getting late. I'll paddle us to shore and walk ya home"
