Legion started munching on a candy bar. "Going left you encounter a group of vicious bandits! What do?"

"I was joking. Bring me the drink, sweetie." Legion's mirror image came back with a glass and a bottle. "Know how to play pool?"

"I kill them of course...I kill them all" "Like I said before I don't really know now..."

"Seven bandits; seven rolls. Seven, fourteen, three, nine, ten, one, and eleven," Legion said. "Four bandits killed, two wounded, one unharmed. They counterattack. Roll three times to see if their hits connect."

Ris sighed. "Okay, okay. What are you good at?" She drank some.

"i hope im able to kill all of them...." Wendigo nutted rolling the dice. "Nothing really..you don't real play games when you live alone.."

"Twenty! Four, thirteen. Stanley gets a large gash over his chest, a small wound on his shoulder and a cut on his sword-holding hand," Legion announced. "You rolled a ten, a thirteen and a nineteen, killing the remaining bandits. You should search their remains to check if any of them had any healing items; the gash is bleeding."

Ris smiled. "You mean alone or alone alone? Did you at least have someone come over once in a while?"

"oh no please find something Stanley!!" "Yes Alon alone. All of my friends died trying to capture wild mystic animals...yeah...I only go to visit Wendigo when the books start talking to me...."

"Bandages. Since your first aid skill is rather mediocre, you need to roll ten or higher. Fail and you'll waste it."

"How did a wizard like you befriend her?"

"How could you waste a bandaid?! You just wrap it around.." "i don't know...I just treated her the right way and not some sort of tool..."

"Told you dice rolls determine everything." Thankfully, she rolled a fifteen and Stanley patched himself up succesfully. "I just hope you don't encounter a bear or a sabrecat along the way."

"Uh-huh. Never thought nice talk would work on people eaters. Any idea what you wanna play?"

"Don't jynx it....." "I have zero clue..." Recin said as he waved his wand and turned himself I to a nymph.

"The unforgiving tundra slows you down and makes you cold. A cave nearby may warm Stanley up a bit."

"Did-did you do that on purpose?" Ris asked. "Like, for real?"

"This cave better not be fill of traps..." "He waved his wand again and turned into a dwarf. "Oh yeah you don't know...I'm able to turn things into other things..."

"It wasn't full of traps; it was full of bodies. Broken, half-eaten..."

"Oh, okay. Can you turn back?"

"a Wendigo is here!!! Good I can go and sleep here!" Wendigo said excitedly. "You don't like me in this form? Is that why you want me to change?" He turned into a small dragon.

"...except that your character, Stanley, is human." Legion was quick to remind her of that.

"No, I just think you're showing off," Ris said. "I don't like when people do that; makes them seem petty and pathetic."

"Really? I can't just change that? L aren't humans able to turn into anything under the right conditions?"

"I'm not showing off...I just do this when Im bored..sorry. " recin turned back to his Normal Mobian self.

"Yes, they are, but the right conditions usually mean said human is a mage or has a magic scroll that allows him or her to change. You have neither of those things, unfortunately."

"I can show you how to play pool, if you want. It's not as complex as poker."

"I'm going to have to find someone to change me later on the way..but I have no choice but to go into the cave."

"sure... I don't mind learning a new game."

"You go deeper into the cave and at the very end, you find a bonfire. No wendigo is sight." Suddenly, a growling sound came from the game's speakers.

"Okay, so you have these sticks – pool cues they're called – and you have to use them to hit a while ball and have that ball hit any other ball into a hole. Whoever puts more balls in holes wins."

"that doesn't sound good. I'll hide." "Seems simple enough"

"Stanley hides behind a convient rock, but in the corner of his eye, he can see the wendigo. It knows he's there."

Ris went over to the pool table and demonstrated how the game is played. Meanwhile, Legion's mirror image offered them some soda.

"ok all I have to do is stay still" recon took a soda.

"The wendigo passes by, growling and doesn't notice you." Legion then scratched his head. "That doesn't make sense; you can obviously see as well as you can smell, so, I'm guessing they added this in to give players a fair chance."

The sode was C&C brand; good stuff. Fizzy. "Wanna give it a try?"

"Recin says when I go full Wendigo, I can't see things that aren't moving. It's weird....but true..." "I'll give a nice try..."
