Ah ha, I don't really expect anybody to read this babble, but shoot, I meant to post this before the tournament started. Oops! Better late than never! Pansy-hog, go!

Nicknames: Fro (It should be noted this is what she introduces herself as, like, 90% of the time.)

Appearance:

Froshana is a bit of a scrawny sort. As far as hedgehogs go, she's average in height and carries a small frame with only a little muscle on her. Her fur is somewhat dark in color, appearing to be a shade in between red and purple. In sunlight, the red is more visible. The only break in this color is the pale-colored fur on her muzzle. Her eyes are pink.
Her quills aren't exceedingly long, coming down to about her shoulder blades, then curving back up slightly at the ends. This curve isn't as exaggerated as on some other hedgehogs, though they do sway and bounce with her movements more regardless. She also has spines on her back coming from around and between her shoulder blades. These aren't very long either, but when Froshana tenses, these spines and quills can become quite sharp and dangerous. (Let it be noted that despite spines being the accurate term for hedgehogs, I use quills to indicate the ones on her head and spines to indicate those on her back.)
Her clothing typically consists of relatively plain jeans and tennis shoes. She typically prefers sleeveless shirts so that they don't get burned as easily while manipulating her powers around her paws and arms. And despite her abilities, her clothes are not at all fireproof. It is not uncommon for her to ruin an outfit in a fight as a result.

Personality:
Froshana is a quiet sort, shy at first with most people she meets. Her low self esteem can generally be seen in the way she carries herself and speaks. She doesn't think very highly of herself and takes very little pride in her pyrokinetic abilities.
However, after getting to know people for a little while, if she does feel like they have accepted her, she lightens up quite a bit. She is a bit of a jokester, often preferring inside jokes amongst herself and her friends and often using gestures and body language to make her friends laugh.
Froshana is also a hard worker, though sometimes hard to motivate. She can be very lazy a lot of the time and is begrudging about doing household chores, which can be a point of tension between her and her two roommates. When she puts her mind to it, though, she can give her best, even if that may not always mean much.
She is sensitive, though, dealing with quite a bit of paranoia that others are always watching and judging her, despite this most often not being the case. As a result, she clams up in public sometimes and tries to adjust her behavior and responses to be as 'normal' as she can. It makes her awkward to be around, though, and sometimes can be a little off-putting to others.


Combat traits

Powers:
Pyrokinesis: Froshana can summon and manipulate fire at will. However, it seems she can only accurately manipulate flames that she's created. Fire that was started by someone or something else is much harder for her to get a grasp of and, if she fails in a dire moment, it's highly possible for her to end up just burning herself. And while her control over her pyrokinesis has increased in recent months, she still sometimes wavers and has trouble manipulating it into finer displays or attacks. Her only source for learning how to use them is simply experimenting on her own, which is something she doesn't like to do too much, or trying to imitate things she's seen other people do with powers similar to hers.
Abnormal strength??: While this isn't really set in stone, Froshana has on occasion displayed abnormal levels of strength, particularly unusual for someone of her size and build. Despite her being on the scrawny side, she can sometimes throw down a blow with a considerable amount of power behind it, such as when throwing a punch or something else similar. However, it seems to happen most often when she is tensed, such as when angry, upset, or in a fight. She can't make it happen at will and, after more than a couple of accidents, it is an aspect of herself that worries her.

Strengths:
- Although she is shy and can recoil from certain social situations, Froshana can't stand to see someone in need and not either help them or get help for them. It's in some of these situations that she can summon up some courage to stand up for others and try to do what's right, even if it might be more than what she's prepared to handle.
- Physically, Froshana is much tougher than she actually realizes. While she considers herself to be more on the fragile side, she can actually take quite a beating before succumbing to whatever effects her injuries may have on her. Fortunately, this hasn't happened enough that she is aware of it yet.

Weaknesses:
- Her fighting abilities are not very refined, including her pyrokinesis. In times of great stress, it isn't uncommon for her powers to 'short out' or for her to lose control of her powers in some way. She has only learned how to use her abilities from toying with them herself and sometimes trying to imitate things she sees elsewhere.
- Rather easily intimidated and put down. She takes insults to heart and it doesn't take too much to discourage her unless it's something she just isn't willing to back down on, such as her friends.

Note that these two characters were not originally mine and are subject to changes and revamps if they ever appear on the forum.
- Xander. Froshana's roommate and best friend since they met in their early teens, this monkey is bubbly and cheerful. She is often the one to help bring out the best in Froshana and tries to encourage the hedgehog to step out of her comfort zone and try new things. And other times, rather than encourage her, she just tosses her in headfirst...
- Vengeance. Also Froshana's roommate and best friend. He and Xander were friends before meeting Froshana and the trio have been together for a few years. He is sometimes more thoughtful than the two girls and can often be the voice of reason in the group. He's plenty content to let Froshana decide for herself what she does or doesn't want to do most of the time, though Xander will make a good point now and then and he might help a little...

History
Fro's history has been very heavily under construction, if only in terms of its beginning so this is prone to change as I work it out!
Froshana's history is a bit on the rough side and, in her opinion, has too many questions that still remain unanswered. She was found wandering on the outskirts of a small, impoverished town at the age of perhaps 3 or 4. With not even a set of clothes to keep her warm, no one could understand why such a small child was just walking around alone. When asked about where she came from or where her parents were, it seemed that the little hedgehog was more than a bit confused and uncertain. In the end, it was assumed she simply didn't know. One thing she could answer, however, was her name. She knew her name and could often be heard quietly repeating it to herself, as though trying to not forget.
Her circumstances were unfortunate, however, as among those who had found her, none could really afford to keep her all the time. As a result, the child was passed around from one person to another as they did what they could do try and maintain her. It was tough, however, and she grew up in general poverty as the rest of them all lived.

Her childhood was dreary and grim and, despite the efforts of a couple of those who cared for her, she was aware that she was more of a burden on these people than anything else. Around 8 years old, during a particularly cold winter, she noticed a spark while wishing to be warmer. It was from this point that, little by little, she discovered her pyrokinesis. At first, the idea of being able to create fire at will excited her. More than a few accidents, however, and the scoldings that followed, removed such a feeling of excitement and replaced it with wariness of not being able to control this newfound ability.

Somewhere along the age of 13, she chose to leave this life behind and no longer be another mouth to try and feed or anyone else's burden to bear. She took off on foot one spring day and never looked back--Oh wait. No. She looked back. Several times. After all, she had never really been on her own before. She had no job, no money, no skills. It was more than a little daunting. But off she went.

Life had already been a struggle, but it became even moreso as the hedgehog traveled alone on foot. Her only means of getting any money was simply through begging and this went on for a couple of months. One day, though, things went very wrong, then took a sharp turn back to being right again...
While making her way through a larger city, Froshana accidentally wandered into gang territory. A confrontation was had between her and a trio of gang members, followed by a chase through the streets and alleyways. This was the first time that Froshana she used her pyrokinesis in a fight. While in the middle of running, though, she had a collision with another hedgehog who was walking along, hurling both of them down onto the concrete. After recovering from their impact, this hedgehog took note of the situation Froshana was in. He wound up helping Froshana out as they managed to fight off and flee from the others now after both of them.
Once safe again, the stranger introduced himself as Vengeance. Although a bit taken aback by his strange name, which he later admitted he had given himself due to not liking his real name, Froshana stuck with Vengeance. He took her back to where he was meeting with his friend, a monkey named Xander. Despite the overly-friendly monkey intimidating the much more shy Froshana, the two girls hit it off fairly quickly and very quickly became friends.

Conversation ensued and Froshana learned that Xander and Vengeance were also on their own. They had been luckier, however, and found the owner of a restaurant who was willing to let them work for her in exchange for a small living space above the restaurant and a very low pay. Upon hearing about Froshana's circumstances, the pair urged her to join them and try to get a job with them. It wasn't easy work and the hours were long, but it was certainly better than begging on the streets. After some initial hesitation, Froshana agreed to give it a try. The trio has stuck together ever since. They did, however, eventually move to another city farther south after gang activity spiked in the city they were in.

Now still only 17 years old, Froshana and her friends continue to work to maintain themselves. They rent out a small apartment for the three of them. While Xander somehow has the boundless energy to work two jobs, Froshana only works one at the moment after some issues when she attempted to work a retail job. Vengeance works one job, as well, but he works full time. Together, they manage to make a living and are as decently comfortable as a group of teenagers could really be while trying to support themselves.

Even now in the present, however, there still seems to be something... off about Froshana. She reportedly has dreams that she absolutely insists feel too real to just be dreams. She also has a recurring nightmare in which she always dies, but she has no idea what it means. On occasion, certain things will trigger in her mind, as well, even if it's something as simple as a certain sound or smell. When these occur, Froshana admits it's like having déjà vu, but she can't really explain it fully. But in the meantime, she has no way of finding out why these things happen. Perhaps the answers will become clear one day...
