To Have a Purpose Empty To Have a Purpose

The moon hung high in the sky, though the day had yet to end. Station Square was having a break from the snow. The streets were neatly ploughed, much unlike the sidewalks, which seemed to receive all of it from the road. Those who didn’t drive had to either brave walking on the roads, or deal with walking through snow that went up to the ankles of the average sized adult.

Sora herself did not drive, but she also had few places to go. She did not personally mind the snow, and far preferred it over the dreadful summer’s heat. The drivers of Rush Hour seemed a whole lot calmer. Most of them were more concerned with seeing through the small spots of their windows they actually bother to clear off.

The young fox was surprised that, with the dislike for the cold that most people have, The Cone, the ice cream shop at which she worked, had received so many customers. It was only her and the shop owner, Bianca. She was tired from work, but enjoyed all of it. It was almost depressing when the day ended.

After all, she was still trying to save to afford a room to an apartment. For now, she’d be sleeping outside, finding a place clear of exhaust. The cold did not bother her, though. Manipulation of ice was her one noteworthy skill, after all. It was only logical that she would thrive. Yet she couldn’t help but wonder what it was like to lay upon a bed underneath a warm blanket fresh out of the dryer.

Such a life seemed distant, however, and she tried to think realistically. At this point, Sora was not sure what to do. She felt she had seen all the sights worth seeing. The walking had at last started to feel mundane. She had been here for a few months, but Bianca is so far the only friend she’s made.

Walking along the sidewalks, Sora came to a crossroad, and she wasn’t sure which way to go. She took a coin from her pocket and flicked it into the air with a near inaudible ring, and caught it in her palm. “Tails,” she said to no one in particular. “Then I’ll go east.” She at least did not have to cross the road. Being so close to those vehicles was still less than comfortable for her. She passed the constabulary, giving it only a slight glance.

One could smell mint ice cream from the fox, though she hadn’t a spot of it on her fur.

In your standard night setting he would have almost practically blend in with the shades that the night brings, be it a clear night or a cloudy one. But the snow spoiled that entire hiding spot. So now, the near black hedgehog stood out like somewhat of a sore thumb. He was not happy with this turn of events, he was tired, a lil cranky and just wanted to go home after working. Yes work was in all cases boring but at least it was warm. Warmer than this walk back to his house at least.

Yet despite all his mental complaining, his galaxy print coat had it's sleeves rolled up till his upper arms. Honestly one could question of they even could be rolled down at all or were like those fake ones just there for show, just like fake pockets!

To Have a Purpose Empty Re: To Have a Purpose

The blue fox had her eyes fixed on the coated ground. Her purple scarf flowed smoothly in the wind. Her green dress seemed to be rather thin for the winter weather. She paused with the sudden thought that she hadn’t done anything with her ice abilities recently. Working in an ice cream shop in the middle of winter had apparently not triggered any thoughts toward it. Whether it was to get her to do it or not, she had been told from very young that lack of control meant an impending disaster.

The fox was still shy, however, about practising such skills around others. Knowing few people, she felt she was likely to be judged. The fox glanced around herself, and when she felt that no one was watching, she paused and looked at the snow at her feet.

She exhaled as she brought a single hand up hip height. The motion was slow and gentle, but a hum in the wind was audible. A thin ring of snow uncoiled from around her feet and danced just barely off the ground. As much as it had felt like a burden in the past, at this moment, she found it strangely therapeutic.

The fox did not notice very quickly that a shadow was cast on the ground in front of her. When she did, she looked up to see a well-dressed hedgehog. She seemed to be in a daze before realising that the hedgehog was going in the opposite direction, and she was standing in the way.

“I’m sorry,” she said quickly, moving to the side, not sure if the hedgehog had noticed what she was doing.

To Have a Purpose Empty Re: To Have a Purpose

About two blocks far from where the two had been standing, a similar cyan colored fox quickly hurried along the sidewalk, holding his left fist, which seemed to faintly glowing a shade of white. He seemed in a hurry. "The source is just up ahead..." He muttered to himself. He stared intently at the glowing hand as he trudged along the snow with his new winter boots, all white with black laces. Otherwise his attire was his casual, a bit too thin for anyone else's average terms: blue jeans, short sleeve shirt, gloves, and accessory goggles. Though it made him seem silly, especially with the boots, all he focused on was this "source" that he found.

Hold up... behind him, small bits of snow seemed to lace around his feet before falling back into piles, and staying inanimately. Was he doing it on purpose...?
