Chaotic Clash

It was quiet. 
As one would say, too quiet. 

But that's a little cliche, isn't it?
The day was clear, the sun was shining, the sky was blue and clouds were few. A forest clearing was surrounded by a ring of trees that spread out to the forest beyond them. Shrubs, flowers and other things were scattered around on the ground- the grass grew to a rather average height. Everything was fine and peaceful... and quiet. 
That is, until a certain being descending from a strange portal in the sky. The portal closed immediately upon the being's exit, his black shadowy wings carrying him gently to the ground. He had the appearance of a raccoon, rather, he really was one. A fluffy black and red ringed tail swayed around sporadically behind him. A strange pitch black ring with red and white markings fit around his left wrist and seemed to emit a strange, chaotic energy.

His feet touched the ground, and hell followed. The grass ripped up from the ground, the trees and shrubs seemed to transform- stripping themselves of their leaves and shriveling up until they were bare and black. Flowers died, it was horrible really. Thorny structures jutted up from the ground on all sides, creating a sort of arena like structure. For 200 feet on all sides, everything was dead. Straight up, absolutely dead. His wings seemed to burst out of existence, and he could no longer fly. He stood there, observing his work and waiting. Waiting for something to come close enough to qualify as 'easy prey'.

Trudging through the thick forest came a white hedgehog, going on his usual walk. He donned a high-collared, grey and red combat jacket, along with pants of the same color, and finally black combat boots to finish his wardrobe. His hands and arms were covered in white bandages, showing little to no skin whatsoever.

No more than a couple of seconds later, he began to notice a huge change within the forest the further he went on. "Well this is new." Observing the dead flowers, the leafless trees. and the depressing grass around him, It became clear to him that someone was nearby, someone dangerous. The speed of his walking increased a bit as he went further within the now dead forest to investigate.

Moving quickly and silently through the dead forest, the raccoon looked for anything or anyone that was unfortunate enough to find their way into this now dreadful section of the forest. His eyes, bright red in color on black sclera, shifted from side to side as he scanned the area. His movements were swift and coordinated, as if he's done this before. As he moved, a thick fog trailed behind him, it went from sunny to seeming like good rain weather pretty quickly. 

The raccoon scurried up a tree and spotted the hedgehog. A wicked grin stretched across his face as his eyes focused in on the creature. Judging from the combat apparel, this wouldn't be an easy one. Ark didn't care, Ark never cared. With a flick of the wrist, he sent a small blast of darkness in front of the hedgehog to get his attention. "Look at what we have here!" Ark exclaimed. "A... lean one, you are."

Continuing on, the hedgehog kept investigating through the darkening forest for someone who could've been responsible for it's sudden deterioration. "Hmmm...this is far different from anything I've seen. It'd be wise to keep my guard up." He thought within his head.

As he kept walking, not only a couple of seconds later he was treated with a sudden explosion of darkness that appeared right in front of him. Taking a small leap backwards, he looked around the forest until he was heard a sinister voice from above. Looking up, he saw the raccoon in a tree. 

"That some introduction. Who are you?"

"That doesn't matter, does it?" The raccoon responded, a scythe of a strange energy that appeared to be a mix of light and dark appearing in his hands. "All that matters is that you stay still while I do this!" He jumped from the tree, the same creepy and wicked grin on his face. 

He swung the scythe down at the Hedgehog as fast as he could manage, using such a big bladed weapon could be a little clumsy, but the scythe was coming down fast.

Acting on instinct alone, the hedgehog then responded by jumping backwards while backflipping and landing on the ground sliding back. Getting into a more serious mindset, he then glared at this sinister raccoon.

"First you kill all off a huge chunk of the forest, and now you attack me out of nowhere? Well if it's a fight you want, then I will be happy to indulge you."

The hedgehog said as he then reached behind his back and grabbed his red oak bo staff an got into a fighting stance.

"A fight?" The raccoon questioned, looking at the Hedgehog with his oak staff. "Oh, that's even better than I imagined!" He exclaimed, ripping his scythe from the ground. The energy on the scythe diminished until the blade was gone and all was left was a staff identical to the staff the hedgehog was using, only made out of the weird energy. 

"Let's fight like this!" The raccoon said, sweeping the staff of his own under the Hedgehog's feet in order to try and knock him down.

The hedgehog's feet were suddenly swept from the ground as the raccoon used his staff to knock him down. The hedgehog however was able to regain his balance as he was able to jump from the ground into the air and flipped backwards and use his bo staff to try and deliver a big swing towards the raccoon's side.

The raccoon raised his eyebrows at the Hedgehog's swift movements, matching them with his own as he ducked under the hedgehog's swing. He pushed a foot forward lunged forward with as much speed as he could, staff outstretched. He thrust the energy staff towards the Hedgehog's chest when he got close enough with as much force as he could muster.

The hedgehog saw the staff heading towards him and kicked his feet in front of him in order to use the air around him to push him backwards in order to gain some distance from the raccoon, only to use his staff to hit the raccoon's to direct it upwards, followed by a spin kick aiming for his gut.

Ark reeled backward and almost hit the ground as he attempted to dodge, making the Hedgehog's spin kick void. As the Hedgehog spun, he dispersed the staff and this time shot a blast of light at him. The light was bursting and blinding if the hedgehog were to look directly into it. Besides that, it seemed to have similar properties to the darkness.

"Light..?" The hedgehog thought as he sensed a shining blast coming directly towards him. As he landed on the ground, he then began to run away from the blast in order to gain some distance away from it. As the blast continued to follow him he suddenly jumped a great distance above the ground in order to dodge it.

"Yeah, so what?" Ark called out from where he was, aiming his fingers like a mini gun and shooting another small blast of light at the hedgehog- this time in the shape of a bullet (although it didn't actually possess the properties of a bullet). He waited to see what the hedgehog would do next. Whoever he was, he was skilled. This was going to be more fun than he had ever imagined!

A little after he dodge the first blast, Adrian looked back over to Ark and became alert as he then fired the second blast. Adrian thought to himself. "One attack after the other...seems I really can't afford to drop my guard in this battle." As the bullet-like blast was approaching him, he quickly pulled his arm back towards him, forming his fingers back into his palm and used his force to strike against the blast, using the air to push against the blast, sending it to the ground.

"Your moving around is starting to get tiresome!" Ark stomped on the ground, and chains of darkness broke through the ground- headed towards him at a fast pace. The chains curved upward into the air, aiming to pin him down and restrict his movements.
As the chains moved towards the hedgehog, Ark raised his hand and sent another blast of darkness towards him to try and distract him. He hoped it would work, as he really wanted the hedgehog to simply stop his movements.

Adrian was still in the air when he first noticed the chains moving very quickly towards him and used a bit more force in his legs to kick the air, pushing himself backwards away from the chains to prevent himself from being restricted. But what he didn't notice was that there was another blast heading towards him as well. Unable to dodge it, the hedgehog's quick thinking made him use both arms along with his bo staff to guard against it to prevent major damage, thus him being hit with the blast, sending him flying towards the ground.

The raccoon smirked as the hedgehog flew towards the ground. He started running towards the hedgehog, letting the chains disperse, and materialized a staff of darkness in his hands. He jumped up, and swung the staff down at the hedgehog- trying to get a hit in on him before he was able to recover.

Adrian fell fast towards the ground when he was guarding against the blast, the sleeves on his jacket are now charred just a bit and his bo staff now cracked in half, all from the strong impact of the energy blast. He landed with his back on the ground and rolled backwards to regain his footing and quickly saw that the sinister raccoon was heading straight for him with his staff coming straight down towards him and stepped to the side in order to avoid it.

Adrian then took a look at his bo staff which was now obsolete. "Well it looks like I can't use this anymore." He said as he threw the staff on the ground. He then took another look to the raccoon. "That was my favorite weapon as well. So why don't we skip the warm up and be more serious." He said with a glare.
