Sullivan the Fox Empty Sullivan the Fox

Post by Funkydude527 Thu Oct 02, 2014 2:25 am

Name: Sullivan Al'diin Fox
Nicknames: "Sully"
Age: 24
Species: Fox (2nd Generation Shamari)
Gender: Male
Occupation:
Financial Investor, Politician

Appearance: For a short, gangly fox with a broken nose, Sully looks rather nice. Many suspect it is the smile. Winsome, glistering, frequent, and possessing only one fang on the right side, it is the kind of smile that pulls forth unmade memories of an impish, yet beloved younger sibling that has been through the wringer and come off better for it. That smile has earned him quite a bit of pull with many individuals on sight. If the smile hadn't suckered them in, then the grey eyes arcing with a proverbial electric energy, the knappy stubborn hair, and business attire around his thinly muscular frame usually did the trick. His face can shift from innocently impassioned in a bout of unfettered excitement to a foreboding smirk of confident guile in a flash, and his expressiveness is only enhanced by his tendency to gesticulate.

Personality:
Approachable, friendly, jovial, witty, and charming are all things that can describe Sully. Backstabbing, relentless, venomous, smug, and terrifyingly devious are also quite accurate in describing him. Dexter is an excellent friend and a monstrous enemy. He is not unadulterated evil pretending to be an hope-exuding leader in an age of despair, nor is he a saintly monarch who can switch to a darker half on occasion. Sully is both a grinning charmer and a smiling deceiver, a man of genuine heroism and abyssal deception, a loyal friend who will betray that friend in a heartbeat if it the greater good demands it. He is not one to deal or be damaged by verbal trifles and insults, yet he orates like Antony and sounds inhumanly genuine. He is Machiavelli's ideal, even to his core.

Combat traits

Powers: None, barring a significant natural gift for planning, foresight, and leadership.

Strengths:
Cronies
This is pretty self explanatory. As a prominent businessman and politician, bodyguards are the norm. Security, at least of the mall-cop variety, is typically a button press away. If you are unfortunate enough to catch him in his office, an automated defense system of some variety will certainly be present.
Fencing
A competitor on the collegiate level, a rapier is Sully's best friend when in a scrape. While this is fairly specialized, his frequent haunts usually have at least one lying around. This only comes into play if the Cronies do not. His fighting style in these cases is best described as 'scrappy', and he is not afraid to cheat with a swift kick or a sidearm if his life depends upon it.
Getaways
This is how Sully deals with most conflicts. When the cards are not in his favor, or he has not had a chance to stack the deck, Sully doesn't bother to stick around. His behavior follows the pattern established in his schooling years, where squirming out of a local bully's arms and coming back later with his older siblings tended to work out well for the fox. By the time the brothers were absent, a cadre of diverse friends tended to come to the rescue following a speedy getaway. To wit, he has become very good at climbing walls, vaulting fences, and hiding. Nothing supernatural, but he is, indeed, skilled.
Intellect
Sully plans. He has plans within plans. He has plans within plans within plans. He has multiple backup plans for his plans within plans within plans. He plans for the plans of others. One of his most famous exploits among the corporate world was a quintuple-cross during a combination "Short-n'-Distort:Pump-'n-Dump" scheme, the use of this constant side-flipping as a way of acquiring blackmail from his manager, and got away with all of this by using a planted triple-agent as a fall guy. Sully, in fact, takes great pleasure in getting away with his shenanigans. This also makes him a formidable tactician, and fittingly, his encounters with foes rarely place him at a disadvantage.
Leadership
Sully has a knack for inspiring confidence in others. This extends naturally from his glowing, measured speech as well as his meticulous planning. He also tends to adapt quickly, or at least appear to do so, and this lack of flustered confusion makes him a steady and decisive leader. Furthermore, he craves new information and advice, and internalizes it quickly, making team exercises a cinch.
Legal Flexibility
Sully finds the definition of 'legal' to be personally flexible. The law has not stopped him thus far, and he draws the line at outright murder, but his flexibility is increasing. This can serve as both a blessing and a curse depending upon the situation.

Weaknesses:
Height and Weight
Short, scrawny, and often given to running rather than fighting, Sully tends to not be the most physical of guys. That does not mean he is sickly or inept, but he is not a hand-to-hand master in any capacity, and even his basic competence in anything other than fencing is tenuous at best.
Cowar-I mean Intelligence
Being a rather bright guy, and considering his ability to flee is one of his strengths, Sully tends to lack a certain combative fortitude. If things start to go south, and one does not have something to keep him there, then chances are he has already surrendered, fled, or hidden somewhere entirely unhelpful.
Firearms
Yes, he can pull a trigger, and knows what a safety is in theory. Is he a marksman? No. Has he ever held a gun in his life? No. Will he most likely injure himself if he attempts to use a firearm? Yes.
Legal Flexibility
Sully finds the definition of 'legal' to be personally flexible. The law has not stopped him thus far, and he draws the line at outright murder, but his flexibility is increasing. This can serve as both a blessing and a curse depending upon the situation.

History
Sully grew up in a hectic, five sibling immigrant household, with a female twin, three older brothers and one older sister. Busy parents and the sheer size of the family meant most rules went unchecked, and the need for a thick skin and a quick wit made it so in Sully, with a broken nose as a battle scar . Fluently bilingual and brighter than the average joe, Sully quickly found his role as the brains of his sibling's shenanigans. His short stature and his slight Shamari (Arabic) accent got him in trouble more than once, but his siblings bailed him out more often then not.
By the time he got through his education, his winning personality and his ability to navigate the intrigue laden hallways of private schools has gained him a group of loyal friends and dismantled enemies. His siblings had scattered across the globe from their frantic apartment in Station Square. Alhazen and Adabi left to work on the radio telescope in Downunda, Jamie became a minor celebrity on the Shamar boxing circuit, Helena worked as a GUN cultural expert and translator, his twin Sue was running a biological expedition in Soumerica, and even his blue-collar father and working mother retired to a contented life of leisure in Station Square at the sibling's combined financial backing. However, despite all the success, one thorn always stuck in his side. At every turn some accursed, cheating idiot with powers beyond reckoning would ruin something. A telepath stealing his essay from across the room, a hyper-reflexive cyborg beating him in fencing, a mage mugging him on a trip back to his dorm with a fireball. It was a minor bigotry, but a nagging one.
Then everything started to crumble.
Chaos was bad, but survivable. Then the destruction began. Wave after wave of foes and friends alike, all simply adding to the wonton destruction. No reason for it, just anxiousness of undeserving demigods. It sickened him. Finally, the straw that broke the camel's back was the crystallization of his father's leg. His parents stuck it out in the city, unwilling to leave the home they had transplanted to, and his father payed for his crime of nostalgia with his limb. Now the already ambitious and devious stock broker had an even more fiery drive.
One way or another, he was going to even the playing field. One way or another, he was going to take back station square. And as he amassed influence, prepared to run for election, he found allies in the inhabitants of the city. They too were weary of the fighting and the crossfire. The city was rebuilt, yes, but not yet tamed.
That taming, he determined, was his role.
