=[SRN]= Minecraft Server

Yep.

Minecraft. THAT game, the one we're all (I hope) familiar with.

Recently, I've been quite addicted to playing it, and since I have some money and I get a monthly allowance... I was contemplating getting a Minecraft server.

The main poll for this is "Would you play on the server?"

How many player slots do you think there should be? (I can get a maximum of 70, but 30 is the next step down from that, which I THINK is comfortable enough for it.)

The server is going to run Bukkit plugins, so it's not a dull experience. The main plugins are going to be so that myself and a few others can shape something like the SRN world. A few ideas I had were on locations. One of them for example, was Angel Island with an altar in the center and several trees and a few mountains on it with water falls running smoothly off the sides to the world below...

That's one.

There are more ideas, and feel free to let me know if you have suggestions. But yeah, be sure to at least comment here if you support the idea of the Minecraft server.

A few months ago people were already excited when Cyril wanted to make a server, so we (or actually you I guess) Should definetly make this! Maybe we could even RP a bit there!
I think 30 people may already be over the top, but I guess 20 is a bit too low. But you should start the server for the first month with like....20 persons max. That saves you somewhat money.

So if I understand correctly, it's going to be a creative server?

What would you people prefer? I myself would honestly prefer survival for most of the time with a lot of stuff premade by me/the other admins, with the exception of a few Creative events.

Also, there will be no item drop on death bullcrap, so you won't lose everything ever if you die in survival mode.

I am a creative junkie and adore building so if any, I can be about trying to rebuild all locations slowly but surely

Maybe two areas. One for survival (with a few premade things and creative used by the admins), and one for solely creative.

There are pluggins I believe that allow multiple worlds (If I am correct, my knowledge of plugins in limited) But if that's true, have one for a survival world and one a creative

If that's true, then I'll do that! (Something tells me no-one is going to do anything Survival, though. XD)

probably not gonna play on it. i kinda prefer modded servers.

He means heavily modded serves like Feed The Beast, Attack of the B-team. Ect.

Yes, what uncanny said. While vanilla is nice and all. After all. without it modded servers would not even exist. You can only do so much on one.

I think I'd participate in the Survival aspect of the server.

I'd be up for either mode, but survival is preferable. It's been quite a while since I've played, so straight vanilla isn't much of a turn-off for me.

I would definitely do this soon, but for now I just wait until I get a new computer and I get enough money to get the PC version.

Good thing there's more people that'll play survival! I won't be the only one.

Ive really only just skimmed this, but how about a server that is designed after SRN's canon? *if there is one* 
Using all the locations we typically use like Station Square, generic city, th park, the forest etc. The Main Hub of the server could even be called " The CBox.

That sounds like a genius idea, actually! It's what I had as a somewhat idea to be quite honest, just didn't know if it would really fit into the Minecraft texture style. Though who caaares, it'll be awesome regardless.

Three worlds.
Chatbox (Main Hub), Survival, Creative.

Admins can go into creative in Survival for obvious reasons, maybe make a few exceptions every so often.

Gonna check how much money I have in the bank tomorrow and see if I can buy it~

I'll most likely buy it once the server goes up since I wanna be careful with throwing my money about.

I'm going to get it soon, but 1. I need more money (spent it on the sims 3) and 2. Our computer is really crappy, so we're going to get a new one this week.

Is this still going to be a thing? I'm rather interested in the concept.
