Dust and Echos

Gamma took heavy steps along the jungle, having just escaped from the carnage of Mystic Ruins. His Recovery Mode had helped him get back to a better state, but all the organic life must have been hurt. Gamma thought back to the fight, and remembered the blue hedgehog. And then remembered the synthetic copy that caused the destruction. He remembered that one, when Gamma was first activated, he saw the blue copy in a glass next to him. Gamma ignored these thoughts and kept stomping through the lush jungle grass as he set his targets on his next goal. "E-106...E-107...E-108...E-109..." Gamma droned as he walked on, going after Eggman's newest E-100s. But with his next step, the ground shifted and one of Gamma's thin legs twisted as his foot was now stuck in the ground. "Analyzing situation, assessment complete. Mobility is not optional. This provides a problem..."

Smoke... Destruction... Rubble... Death...
Blood. A great deal of it. And one hell of a sting of pain. Stepping through the Mystic Ruin area, the blue hedgehog had realized just how badly he was actually hit by the Metal doppleganger. Taking a glance to his left hand, which was covered by a blood soaked, used-to-be-white, now red glove, he frowned. "Gh... m-man, Metal sure knocked the breath outta me." He said between breaths, to himself, looking around, trying to see through the thick clouds of smoke. He was searching for any survivors, or people that were just in general around. He hoped there wasn't any casualties, but he was prepared for the very worst. Despite everything, he was walking normally, his hand which was secured on his arm about a minute ago now by his side, the blood dripping down onto his right glove and to the floor in random intervals. He glanced around, his quills down slightly, body charred a little by smoke. He heard something... A violent clash! Was that metal?!
The blue hedgehog was immediately on edge, in his fighting stance, despite being so battered. "Come on out, Metal! Bring it on!" He called out into the smoke.

Gamma heard a voice ring out from the smoke, and he instinctively raised his rifle arm and set seven targets on it. He then searched his memory archives and tried to find the voice's owner. "Sonic the Hedgehog..." Gamma droned, lowering his arm and removing his targets. "Do not attack. I do not wish any harm." Gamma said, a few spark hissed out of his leg as he tried to walk, only to fall forward, still in the hole.

The blue hedgehog paused for a minute, hearing a few clunks and whirs. He narrowed his eyes a little but after the robot 'spoke', his expression fell to be a bit more relaxed. Upon hearing another loud crash, he frowned. With a big, deep breath, he walked through the thick smoke, quickly using his hand to waft it away, heading towards the robot. Upon finally gaining his actual sight enough to see the robot, he recognized it. "...O-Oh, it's just you." He resumed breathing normally, avoiding the clouds of smoke. Looking at the robot, he tilted his head. "I take it some of the rubble hit ya..." Scratch scratch. The hedgehog wasn't all that happy with himself. He wished he could've stopped Metal, and the ship easier, but what was done, was done. He sighed.

Gamma looked at the hedgehog and then noticed dark red liquid was running from his arm at an alarming rate. Gamma looked at the wound for a brief moment as he began to analyze the wound. "You have reached a critical state. Contamination is already in effect. Continuation without treatment will result in infection, and demise." Gamma searched his archives and then looked around him at the jungle. "We must sterilize your wound. Please, let me see your arm." Gamma reached next to him and grabbed a piece of metal, one of the thousands of pieces from the ship's explosion. Sadly, this jungle would be littered with the shrapnel for years to come. He held the metal behind his back and turned on his hover jet, shooting blue flames onto the metal and sending it to red-hot glow. "Pain will be momentary, I recommend you bite down on something."

"I'll take that as a 'yes', then." He said, before stepping back a little. He frowned slightly more, and got into a bit more of a defensive pose, until he looked at his arm again. Yeeeep, that did look pretty bad. "...Alright, alright, fine. But don't you try anything, I'll turn you to scrap in no time if ya do..." Sonic warned, not completely certain this robot was no threat to him. He hesitantly held his arm forward, and looked at the metal which was now glowing red hot. "...J-Just get it over with fast, then." The hedgehog said.

Gamma gently took a hold of Sonic's arm and he wiped away some of the blood with a leaf. He then pressed the heated metal against the gash, having to hold the hedgehog in place to not make a mistake. As Gamma ran the metal against the wound, it eventually began to seal again, leaving a large pink, red and black outline of where it had been. Gamma wrapped a leaf around the wound and tied it off with some wire. "Do not lift anything exceeding the approximate amount of ten pounds with wounded arm. Lifting will re-open the wound." Gamma then looked down at his own leg and saw he was still stuck, and couldn't go anywhere. "Assessing damage... Complete. Damage at 92.3%. Auto-Check: Start. Recovery Mode, offline. I cannot follow. You must leave, before the E-100s arrive. I shall stay." Gamma said. Although he was a robot, he seemed to have a hint of sadness in his voice, and a trace of regret.
