Rules!
Before really getting started, I've got a few rules I'd like to reiterate based on things I've seen around so bear with me and make sure you take note of these!

- Follow post order! I trust this is already clear enough. Post order will be determined by the order everyone joins in and I will list it right here for future reference. If it changes, I will update it here so if you're not sure, just check here instead of making a needless OOC post!

Current Posting Order

C.S.O.

- Speaking of needless OOC posts, I'd like to ask that you not post if all you have to say is OOC. If it's important, PM me. Otherwise, it can wait until the next time you post in the post order. c: Or you can always post in the plot topic HERE as well and we don't have worry about losing the flow of the rp.

- Each person will have three days to post! I can give some leeway on this at times as I know there's work and school to contend with, but if you can't pop in and write up a post in about three days, I will skip you. But of course, the next time your turn rolls around, you're more than welcome to jump back in! Additionally, though, if I have to skip you five times in a row, we will stop waiting for you to post each time and you'll be temporarily crossed out of the post order. But still, come on back to us if and when you can! I just hate to see an rp fizzle and die because people join things they don't have time for. ;w;

- Have fun! Haha, this is the worst rule ever, I know. No, really, the big point of this rp is taking human-shaped characters and having some fun with dumping them into new bodies that move and work differently than what we're used to writing. Play with it a little! Let's see what weird and hilarious things happen, right??

Now, if you're set and ready, let's get this very much belated rp started!

Ah, a relatively non-descript city. How convenient a setting! The start of spring had come to the midwest of the region and, with it, there also came a festival. The event was held each year for a weekend, celebrating what some believe to be the roots of many present-day Mobians. The wild, feral versions of various species are depicted throughout the many booths of activities, delicious carnival foods, and entertainment. Some shows include performers acting out the old ways of such animals, whether just for the amusement of the audience or for educational purposes. There was live music in a least a couple of locations and one open area set up for dancing. And, of course, what is a festival without rides like the ferris wheel and even a miniature roller coaster, among other things? It was certainly a popular event with the locals, even if not the biggest around.

The city itself wasn't any sprawling metropolis. No major night life or spectacular entertainment aside from a couple of small museums, the local movie theaters, several parks and walking trails. Looking around, one might think that shopping and eating were what the locals did for fun most of the time.
Granted, the city was right at the edge of a very large nature reserve, made up of forests and extending into the nearby mountain range. It was a beautiful national park, excellent for camping, hiking, and other such activities. But our focus ought to return to the festival grounds, near the outskirts of the city where there was room for the whole event.

The sun was finishing its arc across the sky, setting off behind the distant mountains of the reserve and painting the puffy clouds that lingered overhead in a warm palette of pinks, reds, and purples. The late afternoon was melting into a pleasant evening, perfect for being outdoors with the cool spring breeze passing through. Festive lights strung up in the trees around the carnival were now glowing and twinkling in and out of the green foliage. The rides were lit up as well, shining their colors brightly and proudly. Vibrant music and sounds seemed to come from all directions, as well as the constant sound of voices chattering, laughing and, occasionally, screaming from some of the wilder rides available.

Among the many other civilians enjoying the pleasant evening, there was a relatively young equine casually making her way through the stalls and booths. She was a bit of an eye-catcher, what with being almost a full head higher than the majority of the other people around. The Clydesdale had been passing through after finishing a job in another city and a festival seemed a perfect way to wind down before going back to her hotel room.

She'd dressed to travel, wearing a comfortable blue sleeveless dress and a fashionably-matched hat that had openings in the top perfectly made for her equine ears to stick out through. There was no sign of footwear on the horse girl, as one might expect with the long, white 'feather' fur covering her lower legs and part of the hooves her feet ended in. The feather also covered her forearms, leaving only the brown-furred fingers of her hands free of the long fluff when her arms were at her sides. Half of her long dark brown hair had been tied back into a ponytail while the rest remained loose down her shoulders and back. On both her hair and her long tail, the brown coloring faded partway down into a gentle blonde highlighting of a couple of different shades. Both hair and tail had quite evidently seen some special salon treatment recently, judging by the fresh waves and curls throughout the cascading locks.

The Clydesdale was currently carrying a slender white cone with a bright blue ball of cotton candy at the end. She'd been working on it for a while, judging by her blue-tinted tongue, but was still enjoying it as she just walked along and took in the festival ambience. Granted, she was looking up more than down and more than once would stop suddenly and apologize as she almost bumped into or stepped on someone on the rare occasion. "Oops! Sorry!"

---

((Side note that our group of protagonists will come together through sheer coincidence, kinda sorta. When the plot begins to gather them up, you'll know. c: Just, uh... roll with it? Now, have at it!))

As the tall equine struggled through the crowds of Mobians and humans alike, another Mobian, this one an arctic fox, with dazzlingly white fur, wearing a thin purple jacket, made of some type of warm fabric, as well as some pretty well-worn blue jeans, and a pair of black boots. Around her neck was a dark purple scarf, which may have seemed a bit much for the weather. She squeezed through the crowds near a Ferris wheel. This fox had just been on a mission related to G.U.N.'s securing of a confidential piece of information. With that out of the way, though, the fox was free for the best part of a week. She had heard that there was a festival on nearby, and decided to go. Held in one hand was an ice cream as she lightly pushed her way through a group of people that had rudely stood right in the middle of the crowd, with no real reason to stop.

"Some people have no manners," she muttered to herself, her mouth full of the frozen dessert, flicking bits of it everywhere. She realised what she was doing and quickly gulped down whatever was left in her mouth, covering it with her hand.

Amongst the crowd, she spied a rather exciting-looking ride not too far from where she stood. A rollercoaster of some kind, from what she could see. Not the kind to pass it up, she changed the direction she was moving, doing her best not to upset too many festival-goers.

------

((not quite as long as the wall of text before this post, but still, I guess I'll kick this off! Oh, yeah, just gonna ask it now, but are accessories, such as the scarf that Raito wears, allowed?))

Oh boy! A Carnival! The perfect place to end this stretch of a boring, solitary road trip back to the big city on the coast. And with Storm's currently... comfy financial situation, he had a bit of disposable cash on hand to make a charmingly distracting evening of the small-town festival. Eh, what kind of festival was it now? Aw, who really cared what the occasion was? Small towns like these always had weird local holidays for something or another.

No, a more pressing matter was the fact that festivals like this one had fair food, all manner of things seared, deep-fried in batter, coated in powdered sugar, and dipped in caramel. And typically, those foods were at least double the size of normal foods. Ooooh... the fox had been so busy on the road that he didn't even realize just how hungry he'd gotten. OKAY! Get some food, find the skee-ball booth, show the local brats who was king of the bumper car rink, and then get back on the road. Sounded like a solid plan. He sealed the notion with a solid clap of his hands.

The fox found his way through the crowds to a stretch of glittering trailers lit with strips of blinking colored light bulbs, and striped flags advertising some hot-ticket item. He was immediately assaulted by the smell of every sinful comfort food his stomach was dancing for. If hyperglycemia had a scent, this was it.

Storm huffed to himself out loud as he was confronted by the usual dilemma. Just what did he want? Every option screamed at him in giant bubble-letters. JUMBO CORN DOGS to the left of him. FRIED DOUGH to the right. CHEESE CURDS and FRIED VEGETABLES and HOT FRENCH FRIES and SAUSAGE and... Okay, this was getting him nowhere. Time to scan the crowd. There was something he was missing. Something that above all else his stomach would... THERE! THAT WAS IT!

"Ahem... Hey there little guy." Storm knelt down to be face-to-spotted-face with a small pup holding a rather large piece of pizza. "Where did you get that from?"

The child said nothing, clearly put in a somewhat awkward position by the brashness of this stranger fox. He held onto the question for a moment before slowly he pointed a small hand in the direction of the far end of the food court. The fox rewarded him with a wide grin. "Thanks buddy!"

The fox flashed him a thumbs up before disappearing with a sweep of his tail. He didn't run, but the strange power-walk he had taken sent him on a speeding course past passerbys and around the corner and almost into...

"OH jeeze! S-sorry, miss!" ...A rather large horse. Nice going, Storm.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by ForevaYoung Sun Jan 08, 2017 2:27 pm

It was that time of the year again. Festival season. What came with festival season you may ask?

Work, and lots of it.

Mobians of every age and species could be seen in the grounds of the festivities. Whether they be seeking thrills on a roller coaster or simply spending time with their family, perhaps even just sitting on a bench snaking on the various junk food from the scattered stalls, there was no denial in the fact that everyone was enjoying their time in the loud, filled up area.

If one was to look up, they would spot some more Mobians in the sky above trying to keep the walkways free for those who couldn't take to the air. Amongst those was a dark midnight blue hummingbird. Now at this moment in time it was daylight, but if it were night time then the darker Mobian would blend into the sky above, save for the bright teal head feathers that bore a striking resemblance to hair, not to mention the soft sky blue feathers that tipped his wrist feathers and wings. He wore a simple mint green shirt with the sleeves stopping just around three-quarters of the way down his arms as to not obstruct his wrist feathers. A white T-shirt was seen underneath the unbuttoned clothing and he wore a pair of comfortable baggy light blue jeans. Finished off with a pair of hi-tops coloured mostly white with black at the front and a green star around the back of each shoe, he gave the impression of comfortable casual wear.

Now anyone who knew of this Mobian knew he worked for the city. A police investigator to be exact. Why is this relevant?  Well, let's just say the security staff for the festival on this particular day were a little short staffed, and he was one of the lucky few chosen to 'fill in' and keep an eye on things while off their official duty. He knew he shouldn't have said 'anytime he was needed to just call' as they we're really pushing things by putting him up to this. He was not used to this type of work and, frankly?  He was bored. But, at least he was getting a bonus for helping out in such short notice.

The dark blue male spotted a stall that sold some ice cream coming up so hovered down to the ground to purchase an ice cream cone with a double scoop. Just because he was to keep things in check didn't mean he couldn't indulge in the sweets around, which made things at least a little better for him.

"One of these days, imma get back at my boss for throwin' me into this without notice." He mumbled to himself as he carefully witnessed from a safe distance the many Mobians bumping into each other and others who could be looking to potentially mug another. People did carry a lot of money to these things after all, especially in regards to binge eating and wasting all their money trying to win that one darn prize he was certain was rigged to never be won.
He decided to stop in front of the lone roller coaster for a little bit to watch the ones on it go from nervous to excited or freaked out. He couldn't help but chuckle at some of the comical expressions as he ate his sweety treat.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Everyone loves festivals, right? Well, maybe not everyone. Big crowds, yelling and screaming children and loud music, it's not everyone's favourite place to be.

A few blocks away from the festival, there was a liger, walking towards the festival as he passed a coffee shop. He stood about a head taller than the average person and seemed kind of out of place with his broad shoulders and green scleras. The tall male was dressed in a black sweater, sleeves rolled up, a pair of black ripped jeans and a pair of black army boots. His pace was heavy and his boots made a bit of noise on the pavement. For a moment he stopped walking and took a look at the shop he was now standing in front of. 'What's wrong with a bit of coffee?' he thought to himself as he decided to enter the shop and get an espresso. 'I'll probably need it anyways.'

When his coffee was ready, he walked outside and started heading towards the festival. He was asked to do some work on the speakers at the place because he had applied for an internship at a shop that had to do with sound installations and other kinds of electronics closeby. "As long as I can get away as soon as possible.." he mumbled to himself. He wasn't really fond of busy places, especially carnivals and festivals but this was a great opportunity to prove himself in this field of work, despite his young age.

As he made his way to his destination, he was sipping from his espresso, carefully to not burn his mouth on the hot fluid. The feline reached the edges of the festival and he stopped walking for a moment, trying to decide where to go first: the small stage that would be used by a few small bands or to one of the rides to fix the music installation over there. He decided to head over to the stage first as that was the work that seemed most appealing to him.

He had almost reached the stage until he got distracted by a loud noise coming from a stall where one could shoot at tin cans to win prices. 'One turn can't hurt, can it?' The liger walked towards the game stall and slammed his hand down on the counter whilst holding a dollar. "One round, please." he said to the golden retriever in the stall. "Sure thing!" she replied, happy she got a customer. The lady readied one of the guns and handed it to the feline. He aimed and shot four times, hitting most of the cans but one. "Ohh I'm sorry, you're out of shots and you don't win anything. Maybe next time!" the golden retriever said with a wink while adjusting her hair. "Yeah, whatever." the liger replied while walking away and taking his espresso with him.

All was going smoothly until he reached the stage. It seemed as if the construction of the stage itself hadn't even been finished. Confused, he looked around to see if he could find any of the staff but he failed to spot any. He decided to ask the nearest person if they had seen any workers or staff from the festival and his eye fell on a blue bird standing a mere few feet away from him. That was handy, someone able to fly as well! "Excuse me, sir, have you happened to see anyone working on this stage here? I'm looking for them but I can't seem to be able to find them."

Ah, carnivals! Those are… a… thing, right?
Honestly, Esme had never encountered such an event before. She’d visited small fairs, frequented circuses and such, but she’d never encountered something that combined the two. As such, the pink haired hyena had cornered herself a rather nervous looking individual, and seemed to be grilling him for information.
“So you’re tellin’ me you lot just sorta… gather lots of people together in a single location, and have them play games and ride in weird tiny mechanical boxes and stuff their fuckin’ faces with tons of sweet food stuff?’ She asked, idly running one hand through her waist length hair, and another playing with the button on her pink leather jacket. After a moment’s thought, she cocked her head to one side, a wide grin flashing across her face. ‘Man… that sounds… INCREDIBLE. You mortals never cease to amaze me with your… weird little celebration thin’s. I love it, I really do.”
The poor man just sort of nodded, seemingly eager to please the rambling hyena. Seeing her grinning at his answers, he turned and quietly hightailed it away from her before she could pin him again, vanishing into the crowd itself.
“Carnival…” she muttered. “Well, sounds like a good way to spend the day as any. Somethin’ to do at the very least. Yeah. Yeah! This should be fun.’ she said, seemingly to no one in particular. ‘Now, let’s see. First thin’s first, I think I’ll get myself somethin’ to eat.’
And with that, she started walking! In… seemingly no guided direction, but simply into the crowd itself, and begins to seek out a stall serving food of any kind. As she walked, however, her gaze drifted briefly over a tall equine figure, and the Hyena paused in her tracks. She hadn’t seemingly noticed the red fox, however.
‘Yooooo! You look cool as HECK!’

A short distance from the outer edge of the festival grounds, where all of the entertainment was currently carrying on, near the entrance to an adjoining park, a lone wolf leans back against one of the pillars that made up the entry archway into the park. He was staring off towards the festival and the massive throng on people gathered there, milling about from venue to venue, taking in performances, going on rides, playing games, eating food. It was rather curious that he was so seemingly focused on it… He didn’t really have any interest in going there at the moment.

*Well, isn’t this a treat…* he thinks, *Been traveling for days on foot. Finally see this place in the distance and start heading here. But, by the time I get here, it’s like a city wide party is in full swing…*

He sighs and glances down towards his feet. His hiking pack is resting on the ground beside him, leaning against the pillar. He’s got a dark hooded cloak on to ward off the mild chill of the early spring weather. He didn’t really need the cloak per say. But he appreciated the fact that it offered him a degree of anonymity. It also had the added benefit of keeping most strangers at a distance. Who wanted to get close to a lurking cloaked figure after all?

*Finally get here… spend a couple of hours wandering around this place and staying out of those crowds… Turns out anyplace set up for housing travelers is full… for the next several days no less.* he adds, *So much for getting a chance to rest and relax for a night here.*

He glances around at the few passersby who made their way along, seemingly uninterested in the festival events as well. He then looks down towards his pack and picks it up with one paw. With his other paw, he adjusts his hood slightly.

*Suppose I’d better figure out what to do now.* he thinks as he eases away from the pillar and starts to walk slowly away from the park, *Guess if I have no other options, I can always come back to one of the parks and crash there for the night. And… maybe I could take a look around and see what this whole thing here is about too.*

He glances over at the festivities again.

*I’m sure Flame or Reena would suggest that I have… fun.*

It was while rounding the corner of a line of booths that a pair of dark-furred ears suddenly appeared before the Clydesdale's eyes. Taken by surprise, she squeaked a bit and came to a prompt stop, her hooves a fortunately safe distance from the fox's shoes. In her haste, she managed to bump the cotton candy she held right into her white nose, leaving a little tuft of the fluffy treat on her fur.

The equine let out a giggling, "Woops!" Her eyes crossed momentarily to eyeball the end of her muzzle and brush the cotton candy away with a free hand before she came to focus on the apologizing fox. "Oh-oh, it's no problem!" she assured as she glanced him over briefly. The impulse to judge outfits never seemed to rest. But! No major fashion disaster here and so her eyes were promptly back to maintaining eye contact shortly after. That free hand still lingered up near her face as she considered quickly licking her finger to keep from just getting cotton candy all over her clothes or in more of her fur, but excusing herself came first.

"Just kinda have my--"

Oooor not! The horse's ears perked and swiveled towards a call nearby that stood out from the rest of the idle chatter around. In the time it took her to blink a couple of times, she spotted the eye-catching colors of pink hair and... pink leather? The equine had to look this hyena over as well before settling her gaze back on her face and realizing that she was the one being spoken to.

"Oh!" Her still mostly free hand pointed up to her own face. "Me?" The charming smile returned to her muzzle and she nodded her head to the side. "Awww, thank you, that's so sweet!" The mass of soft curls making up her long tail swished in what seemed to be a subconscious habit. It was easily enough that it did brush across a couple of passersby, but the equine didn't even notice.

((Accessories are definitely allowed! Venus, in fact, will be looking quite ridiculous, being a huge horse wearing a frilly little hat. So yes! Once characters are transformed, some of their clothing or accessories are likely to be on them still, depending on whether their bodies grow or shrink, and it'll be up to them/you to figure out what to do from there. If you want a laugh, think about cats trying to walk with socks on for a moment, fufufufu
Also! The post order is now set and has been updated in the first post for easy reference!))

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by The Red Blur Mon Jan 09, 2017 7:58 pm

For the next few minutes, Raito waited in line, tapping her foot to the beat of the loud music that rung throughout the stalls that made up the festival. However, noone seemed to be going in or out, at least to the fox it didn't, which made this wait feel a lot longer than it truly was. She sighed, reaching into her pocket "I know! Let's make a certain hedgehog I know jealous that I'm out partyin' and he's just sittin' at home!" She said aloud, giving a little chuckle. She pulled out a smartphone, pointing it around to get the best angle to take a quick selfie with her ice cream...

That is, until a person with a large, black hoodie pushed her out of the way, grabbing the device in one swift movement. The other people waiting in line behind the fox ensured that she didn't fall to the ground as they tried themselves to stay balanced, some failing miserably, ending in a domino-effect at the back of the queue. Raito regained her own balance, and realised her phone was missing. She called out "hey!" As she watched the perpetrator take off with the device.

The icecream cone that Raito had somehow not dropped in all the commotion began to crackle and fizz, as yellow bolts of light shot their way across the sphere of vanilla-flavouring on top. Taking aim quickly, she threw the frozen desert, shouting "wrong move, bitch!"

The cone splattered across the back of the hooded figure, making them stop and look back at the fox, before their muscles contracted and they fell to the ground, with the phone still in hand. Unfortunately for them, the perp had landed right in front of the blue hummingbird, not that Raito recognised him from the past winter. She stepped over to him, crouching down and taking the phone from him. "You're lucky I don't have time to deal with small-time punks like you," she said, glaring at the person, who appeared to be a wolf Mobian, presumably teenaged, with sharp fangs to rival Raito's.

"The hell did you do to me?" He growled at her, his body barely moving.
"I paralysed you. With at least fifty thousand volts of electricity, to be exact. Don't worry, give it about twenty minutes, and you'll be back on your feet... You will then go straight home, you understand?"
"Y-yes, ma'am." He replied, trying his best to look away.

With a content 'hmph', the fox stood up again, turning back to the line... Which had now gotten longer, and her space was now taken up. Not only that, but her frozen treat was now all over the hoodie of some kid. "Aw, crap," she just said bluntly.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by Storm Wave Wed Jan 11, 2017 4:54 am

There was a moment where Storm was going to make his tactful withdrawal from this situation, but a twinge of familiarity caught him mid step, even as the tall, fashionably dressed woman before him spoke to another person addressing her from the crowd. Why did it feel like he'd seen he before somewhere? Maybe she was some sort of festival queen or something? Did small towns like this one still hold onto dated traditions like that?

Nah, that didn't feel right. It was something else from... work? Why would he know her from something at his stuffy computer repair job a bajillion miles away? A fashionable toss of her hair under her hat seemed to reinforce the gap between her and his crappy part-time job. But still, some intangible thread seemed to connect the two?

Bah! There were way too many question marks here. He shook the thought away and... unfortunately, caught the sweet, sticky scent of the cotton candy that the (local farmgirl?) had been working her way through. His stomach quaked with hunger that was beginning to register on the Richter scale. But with calm and restrained composure that belied the beast in his belly, he excused himself.

"Sorry again miss. Hope you have a good time here at the fair." He shrugged a bit as he sidled past. BACK ON THE HUNT! And time to find out where the food trailer with the pizza was. He peered through the crowd, his head on a swivel as he sought his prize. OH! Was that it? Red and green checkerboard patterns usually indicated something of the Mediterranean persuasion. He started towards the booth.

Something exciting in the crowd stopped him in his tracks. Gasping and groaning fairgoers toppled over in his path as some sort of a struggle broke out in one of the lines to the Shivering Timbers. The fox raised his hand slightly in aggravation.

Okay, I'm not happy that things are keeping me from pizza...

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by ForevaYoung Wed Jan 11, 2017 11:18 am

Just as the spatuled avian was about to take another lick of his ice cream a male voice came from behind that sounded like it was directed towards him. He turned around to see a male liger looking at him to reply to his question. He jumped up into the air to hover as he gave a quick glance over towards the stage, only to find the whole area seemingly abandoned by the staff who were supposed to be working on it.

"Ah shoot," He growled to himself before turning towards the liger again. "Sorry 'bout that my man, but looks like the workers have bailed on us, heh heh...dangit! looks like it's gonna be m-"

He was interrupted by a hooded figure trying to make a dash from who he soon noticed to be a female fox, and upon closer inspection he recognized her from a time before when he was patrolling the central park in the heavy snow. Her name escaped him completely, however. Hey, he may be good at some things, but keeping names was not one of them. Landing on the ground, he was just about to intervene when the female grabbed the figure and strongly advised him to go home after retrieving a phone from his grasp after getting... electrocuted??

The blue males goldish brown eyes widened considerably as he gulped audibly at the fox. So she had powers. And they were pretty darn scary! It appeared that the female didn't even recognize him, but he guessed she was a little more preoccupied with getting her possession back. She picked up her phone and walked off without another word, leaving everyone around a little confused and slightly concerned. Well the blue bird thought to be so anyway.

A short distance away, he heard a loud voice calling to compliment someone, earning his curiosity for a moment. He looked around to get a grasp as to where the voices came from and saw a pink haired hyena smiling excitedly in regards to a rather large horse girl, who looked very out of place in the festival crowds. For one, she was very tall so she stuck out like a sore thumb, but she wasn't a bad sight to have taking over anyone's eyes. The hyena had somehow magically disappeared a#when he turned back to find her. How on Mobius could pink hair just vanish like that?

The blue male shook his head and turned back to the liger who had spoken to him in the first place and felt very rude for getting so distracted. "Sorry, Thought ah might've had to jump in there and sort that out, but it fixed itself, heh." He rubbed the back of his head and ruffled his head feathers in an embarrassed fashion. "Anywho, you were lookin' for staff? Well, seein' as they've gone off and shirked their duties again, imma have to go find them and give 'em a kick up the ass. Sorry again for the hold up, but they should be back soon."

He saluted the feline and began to make his way towards where he believed the staff who were supposed to be responsible adults would be.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by Dione Wed Jan 11, 2017 6:06 pm

When the blue bird flew up, Ira leaned back against the fence that was placed around the ride they were standing next to. Not paying a lot of attention to his surroundings, he got a bit startled when the bird landed again and made his report about the abandoned stage and the lack of workers. "Woah!" he growled to himself.

Even before the avian he was talking to could finish what he was saying, a loud noise came from the crowd in front of them. Someone wearing a black hoodie seemed to be causing quite the trouble over there. It also seemed he was being followed by a white fox in a rather stressful state. The pursuit ended shortly after it had started for the fox apparently threw a... ball? of electricity at the kid in the hoodie, followed by her ice cream. 'That's gonna be nasty when they're going to have to wash that.' the liger thought to himself, apparently not too impressed by the demonstration of the female's powers.

Right after the line of people waiting for the ride had calmed down, a loud voice yelled at another person, complimenting them on their looks. Ira looked around and noticed a rather tall lady, about as tall as himself actually, point at herself and reply to the voice in the croud. It seemed the yell had come from a pink-haired hyena that was now nowhere to be found. His gaze moved back to the horse and inspected her some more. 'Heh, cute hat.' he thought to himself in a rather sarcastic way.

Then the blue bird spoke again. He was apologizing for getting distracted. "No worries, I got distracted myself as well so." he replied when the man rubbed the back of his head. "Alright, thanks dude. Tell them Ira Wright is here to install some of the electronics here if you find them. I'll wait at the stage itself." After saying this he started walking towards the stage and sat down on the edge of it, resting his head on his hands and waited for anyone to come back.

As the Horse turned to face her, Esme’s grin grew slightly larger. ‘Yes, you.’ She cooed softly her eyes flicking up and down the horses form, taking in every inch of their posture, attire and looks. After a moment, she lets out a small wolf whistle, before giving a thumbs-up. ‘Better than cool, actually. You look fuckin’ gorgeous. You gotta give me some tips, like… damn~’ she says, her smile momentarily shifting into something a little more predatory.

After a heartbeats pause, she opened her mouth to continue speaking. ‘I’m Es-‘ she said, before a sudden scuffle in the crowd around them interrupted her. Her playful expression rapidly darkened as she glanced into the crowd, trying to discern who would *dare* interrupt her. Didn’t these people know who she was? Carnival or not, there was absolutely no reason for them to just…. Go around interrupting her as she attempted to flirt and introduce herself to good looking horses! That’s just… rude! In fact, she let the crowd know just that with an utterance of ‘This is just… rude!’

Her piercing gaze settled on the artic fox, who appeared to be preeeeetty busy fighting some individual. Well… fighting is perhaps the wrong term, since she seemed to have bowled them over already. Esme blinked, her sudden rage dropped as quickly as her playful attitude as she watched them stoop down to grab a hold of the hooded individuals back, and drag them off. ‘…greaaaaat…’ she muttered in annoyance ‘Looks like there’s police here already. I guess *nobody* gets to have any fun now, huh?’ she says, to seemingly no one in particular.

Then, suddenly, she glanced back towards the horse, and her bright smile had seemingly returned! She took a step forward, offering a hand before saying ‘Sorry about that! I’m Esme.’ She says, a slight hint of sing-song creeping into her voice.

‘So, what do I get to call you, good-lookin’?’

The cloaked wolf had taken to making his way along the edge of the festival grounds for the time being as he walks along. He didn’t quite have the urge to dive right in there at the moment. It was loud and busy. He really didn’t like being in crowds… it felt too restrictive. Though from the glimpses he took of the pathways that separated the stalls that lined either side, they weren’t jam packed with people to the point you’d have to fight your way through, but being in grabbing distance of numerous strangers left him a bit ill at ease. He did have something of a history of dealing with people who had less than noble intentions… and there were likely a few out here, at least.

He glances away and sighs out softly.

*They’d say you’re overthinking things and letting your own fears guide your decisions.* he chides himself, *Things have changed since then… you have changed since then.*

Looking back in towards the festival, he notices some movement coming from an avian in the air. They seemed to be surveying the area before descending back towards the ground and being swallowed from sight in the crowd. There were also some raised voices in the distance, but he couldn’t make out what was being shouted over the rest of the clamour.

*Well… there does seem to be some excitement going on out there…* he thinks, *Maybe I’ll just stick to the outskirts for now. If something catches my eye, perhaps I’ll go and take a look at it, but for now... I think being on the outside looking in is a better idea.*

He continues on his way looking for something of interest, but not yet knowing what that something might be.

The fox was there a little longer before he excused himself and moved on past the Clydesdale. She gave him a polite smile and a, "Thanks, you too!" before her ears turned back towards the hyena at the sound of a whistle. Her eyes followed shortly after and the equine appeared a little surprised for a few moments by the forwardness of the pink-haired woman's words. The surprise became a more flustered expression and an almost-nervous giggle as the horse started to reach up and brush some of her hair back before recalling the cotton candy still on her hand. That was close!

A commotion somewhere around the corner and from the direction she'd just come from cut off the hyena's attempt at an introduction and the equine also peered over to see a white-furred fox hurl an ice cream at a hooded figure, who promptly collapsed as the dessert struck. The horse's eyes widened at the sudden, but brief scene.

It was over quickly and she returned her gaze to the hyena both when she called out her own opinion of the ruckus, then again at the muttering that followed. While no one was looking, though, the horse went ahead and popped her fingers into her mouth to remove the cotton candy that had been stuck to her fur. Her hand quickly lowered back to her side when the hyena's attention was drawn back to her.

The Clydesdale glanced to the hand extended toward her and smiled again herself. "Aha, I'm Venus," she replied, switching her cone of cotton candy to her left hand that she'd totally just had in her mouth and shaking Esme's with her right. "And, y'know, if you want any beauty tips, I have a whole blog of 'em!" Always time for a shameless plug! "But you seem to already know what you're doing. That's such a cool jacket! Where ever did you get it?"

The fox stared at the quickly lengthening line outside the rollercoaster, and sighed, moving her shoulders in an exaggerated way. "I swear, if it wasn't daytime, I'd beat the living crap out of that guy," she muttered through gritted teeth. She turned away, shaking her head "oh, well. May as well walk around and see what else is up with this place..."

Almost as soon as she finished, she saw one figure towering over the crowds. A horse, by the looks of it. Somehow, Raito was taken in by her appearance. She seemed so... Flawless? Was that the word? She shook her head "how do some people even manage to look like that when they're surrounded by idiots? I mean, she looks so calm." She muttered to herself. Nearby to the horse, she spotted a pink-haired hyena wearing a similarly pink jacket. She was impressed by the hyena's fashion sense, to say the least.

Raito smiled, knowing that she'd want to know where the jacket came from, at least, meaning she soon found herself walking closer to the hyena and the horse, calling out "yo, where'd you get that?" She asked in a rather rude manner, without even greeting the pair.

Italian sausage?! That isn't pizza! THAT ISN'T PIZZA AT ALL!

The fox's stomach reeled in deep, existential anguish, but his face did not betray the meandering thoughts going through his head. No, Storm did what he always did. Hid his crazy behind a grimace of mild annoyance and a buttoned lip.

Was this even where the kid was pointing? Maybe it was back the other way. Slowly the fox turned around, surveying the booths for any other context clues that might point him towards his ultimate food goal.

Kid with giant pretzel? Nope, not there.

Younger brother bopping his older brother with big inflatable hammer? No, not even close, but we're definitely tracking one of those big hammers down for the repair shop.

Shady, cloaked drifter peering wistfully into the crowd from his solitary vigil far away from the noise and people? Nope, that was about as far as you could get from pizza.

Tall, fashionably dressed, visually-striking mare surrounded by admirers... oh, wait. Crap! We're back where we started. The fox shrugged and tried to pretend that he didn't accidentally find his way back over to the horse as he tried to blend into the crowd.

Sigh.... it looked like he was going to have to settle for something else.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by ForevaYoung Mon Jan 16, 2017 6:46 am

Midnight wings beat strongly as their owner darted up and down the walkways of the festival grounds looking for the stage staff. Typical of them to just go off without notifying anyone about their unannounced break.
If the stage wasn't set up soon, people would get bored and leave as it would involve some of the main events for families and the like. There were some charities around the are who depended on these festivals to help get donations. Take people out that equation and the dark male found himself in a situation that involved his boss with a rather large head shouting at him for being so incompetent to keep staff working.

"Urgh! Ah swear to Chaos, if these folks don't get their sorry behinds back to work imma blow them out to sea or somethin." he murmured lowly as he focused on looking out. His eyes began to glow gold with his sole thoughts on finding these staff members, and sure enough, there they were hiding out beside a cotton candy stall pigging out on some of the fatty foods. "Gotcha."

A fair few choice words from the angry airborne hummingbird with threats of them losing their employment -along with the effect of having to show his badge to show he meant business- the three quickly made their way back towards the stage at the other end of the grounds. The male sighed to himself rather loudly and hovered back to the ground to calm down and to take a well deserved candy break. He looked at the many treats on display at the cotton candy specialty stall and couldn't help himself. The next thirty seconds or so made him very happy as he was a sucker for anything sweet. It was blue too, so it sort of matched him, which made him chuckle to himself.
The blue avian knew to take a break, but couldn't help but have his eyes wander over to the outskirts of the festivities, and to which a hooded figure whom looked to be some sort of canine, as judging by the tail. He couldn't fathom why the figure wanted to stay out of the way, maybe some form of anxiety perhaps? Regardless, he wanted to appear friendly instead of just awkwardly staring, and offered a slight wave towards the hooded stranger. Sometimes a little positive reinforcement helped, even if it wasn't much.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by Dione Mon Jan 16, 2017 11:19 am

While the man that was helping him was in the air, Ira just.. sat there, waiting for either him or the construction workers to return. In the meantime he just observed the equine, the hyena and the fox that had been the cause of some added chaos to the festival. They seemed to be very interested in their... clothing? 'Geesh, women.' the liger thought.

After a good few minutes, the construction workers finally came rushing back to the stage. 'Wow, thanks dude! Note to self, thank that blue fellow when I see him.' The chief of the workers spoke first. "So you're the kid that's supposed to help us?" He laughed out loud and his colleagues followed him in his laughter. "Where do I install these speakers?" Avoiding the mocking question the feline stood up and walked towards the electronics he was talking about. "Ey kid! You ain't gonna do that alone, are you? Those things are heavy as heck!" the second, somewhat short worker yelled, still laughing. "...urgh." Ira took one of the speakers with its wires all in one hand, lifted it from the ground and quickly grabbed the underside of the large device, lifted it up chest high and walked to the front of the stage, leaving the workers rather impressed by the strength he posessed.

"Here, right?" He put the speaker down on one of the corners of the stage, hooked up some wires and then walked back to the back-stage area to get the second one. "Uhh.. Y- yeah. Just be careful with them, they're expensive." The first worker seemed annoyed by the fact he just got proven wrong by someone about twentyfive years younger than himself. The third one of the group however, someone younger than the other two, seemed interested in the liger that was working on the installation. He watched from a distance, keeping his mouth shut in case the other two of the workers would get angry at him for speaking up. They were a nasty bunch.

After a few minutes of dragging devices and cables across the stage, Ira got ready to wire up the speakers and to run a test if all worked properly. He got out some microphones, put them on the stands and synchronised them with the main computer back-stage so they could be used wireless. He hooked up the speakers with the computer as well and readied the wires for keyboards, guitars and other electronical instruments so that when the artists arrived, they could attatch their instruments to the wires and start their perfomance.

All was now set up and Ira took one of the microphones. "This is a test." he said, trying not to attract too much attention to himself from the crowds. They worked! The tall feline went back-stage and turned on the music to see if the speakers worked as well. Loud music blasted from them as he turned up the volume, enjoying the results of his hard work. The techno music fit right in with the music of all the rides and game booths around the stage, it was just way louder than the previously mentioned music. He walked back on stage, went to the front side of it and jumped, landed on his two feet and swivelled his tail as he walked away from the stage, avoiding the workers to avoid any conflict. 'All done. Now, where's that other thing I had to do?'

‘Venus, eh? Fittin’ name, in my opinion.’ Esme says, grinning as she shook the horses hand ‘Somethin’ somethin’ god of beauty, and all that~ Fittin’’ she adds, as is to emphasise her point. At the mentioning of a blog, however, Esme looks suddenly confused, cocking her head to the side ‘… I’m gonna sound really stupid now, but what’s a blog? Is that one of those like… pages on the internet? I’m not like… super good with the names of those yet, and all that.’

At the asking of her jacket, Esme’s grin returned as she glanced at the clothing in question. ‘What, this old thin’? That’s… actually a good ques-‘ she managed to say, before being rudely interrupted by a newcomer. In a moment, Esme’s face darkened into a scowl of annoyance, as she glanced towards the intruding fox. ‘…You know, you’re goin’ to have to be more precise than that. “That” could refer to anythin’, you know?’ she says, her scowl deepening as she winds herself up. It was likely becoming pretty obvious that the Hyena’s moods were prone to quick, violent shifts.

After a moment, she glances back at Venus, her smile quickly reasserting itself on her face. ‘As I was sayin’, before I was so rudely interrupted, that’s a good question. A friend got it for me, and I’d be lyin’ if I said I knew where from. Chances are, it’s custom ordered, or somethin’ like that. Chances are he told me where from, but I don’t recall.’ She said with a shrug, her smile briefly settling into a casual smirk.

She drummed her fingers idly against her lips, shifting slightly so as to not have to look at the fox, before adding ‘Although, I could probably ask them next time I see them. Although I’d need some way of gettin’ in touch with you… this blog thin’ you were talkin’ about. Can I, like… message you through that? And if so, what’s it called?’

The wolf continues to walk his circuit of the festival grounds, keeping an eye on his surroundings and casually stepping around other pedestrians that didn’t move clear on sight of him. It was a good thing that he wasn’t trying to be inconspicuous, because his cloak made him stand out from this particular crowd, judging by all the glances he was getting from the people who were nearby as he walks past.

*Hmmm… good for hiding details, bad for avoiding attention.* he thinks to himself, *Maybe if I ever find a place to leave my belongings I should consider leaving the cloak behind.*

Near another pathway leading further into the festival grounds, the wolf spots a tall figure in the distance, standing out against the rest of the crowd, and the handful of other tall individuals here, with the hat they wore. He actually pauses in his walking as that individual sort of caught his attention. He wasn’t sure if it was any particular thing that stood out, but he assumed that there was something different about that person, even though he was too far away to really make out many details. He shakes his head slightly.

*Stop staring.* he chides himself, *That is what the other people here do to you and it’s generally considered to be rude.*

He resumes walking and comes across a collection of stands selling assorted sweet snack foods. He looks them over and wrinkles his nose slightly.

*Definitely not right now.* he thinks, *It’s just not that time.*

Shortly thereafter the wolf spots the avian he’d seen flying around a little while ago. At least, he assumed it was the same one he’d spotted earlier. There could be multiple avian of the same colour here and dressed the same too. The avian is looking in his direction and the wolf stares back for a couple of moments, then the avian waves in his direction. The wolf narrows his eyes slightly and then glances away.

*You don’t know who that is. So they’re not waving at you. Don’t worry about it.* he thinks, as he keeps walking along.

Going Wild Empty Re: Going Wild

Post by Froshana Fri Jan 20, 2017 3:14 am

Venus continued to smile broadly as she and Esme spoke. The smile didn't falter even when Esme admitted to not being certain what a blog was. She was going to answer, but the hyena continued on about her jacket, which was certainly a response she wanted to hear. However, the sound of someone else calling out a similar question as they approached interrupted.

The equine looked to the arctic fox that had been involved in the previous altercation a little while ago. Up close now, she noted that the newcomer seemed to be dressed for cooler weather than the pleasant evening that was upon them now. Interesting, considering she could only imagine an arctic fox would already be plenty warm with their own fur. Her scarf was cute, though.

Esme gave a rather offhanded response to the fox and Venus offered something of an apologetic smile to the vulpine, even though she herself hadn't done anything. Her eyes would occasionally wander as she noted a flying avian flitting about every now and then, though...
When Esme resumed replying to Venus' question, the horse nodded her head. "Still cute either way," she commented. Her ears perked up briefly and she glanced off towards a stage area being set up by a dark-furred feline. She heard when he was testing the microphone, but otherwise remained fairly focused on the two she was speaking with.

At the mention of her blog again, the Clydesdale gave another nod. "Sure thing! I have a couple of social media sites, but I'm the first three results that'll come up when you search for ExclusiVenus," she replied, "It's just 'exclusive' with the last three letters of my name added on." She gave an only slightly bashful laugh as she was clearly aware that it was a rather silly username. About this point, loud techno music began to blare from the stage and the horse turned her head sharply to see what was going on. No performance greeted her eyes, however, it just seemed that the music had been started up now that the stage was set for further entertainment later on.

Her attention shifted to the arctic fox and, despite having to raise her voice now to be heard, she added, "By the way, I love your scarf! That color looks really great on you!"

-

Meanwhile, off towards one of the quieter areas on the edge of the festival, some activity seemed to stir. There weren't very many attractions in this area, it was a good ways off from the stage that had just started playing music now. This particular tent likely would have gone unnoticed by the majority of the crowds. There was nothing to set it apart from the others and it was likely just being used for storage and to keep certain things out of the weather. Now, however, someone stepped out from inside the tent.

A young girl, perhaps only eight years old, if that much, had appeared. Her species was hard to determine, but she appeared to be some sort of brownish-grey-furred goat, judging by the tiny black horns poking up from her short, dark hair and the cloven hooves at her feet. Her clothing appeared a bit dated, not quite fitting in with what most children of the times would wear.
Despite this, the little bovine peered about after slipping out of the tent. There weren't many people around here and most didn't seem to pay her any mind. A figure moving along the edges of the festival caught her eye, though, and her head turned to look to the cloaked person lurking along the edges of the area. Most of him was concealed within his mysterious cloak, but the canine muzzle poking out from the hood was all she needed to see.

"You there!" she called out to him, the slightest hint of an accent in her words, "Come, come! I know what you need!" She beckoned with a little hand in some attempt to urge the wolf to approach.

Post by The Red Blur Mon Jan 23, 2017 6:36 pm

The Hyena's rather rude response to the arctic fox was... Well, it was understandable, considering this fox had just randomly appeared from the crowd, not exactly specifying what it was she wanted to know, nonetheless, she crossed her arms, saying "oh, I see how it is," in a rather childish manner.

Music started to blare throughout the park, so hearing anything beyond the incomprehensible babble of the crowd had grown difficult, especially with the heavy beat of techno music.

When the horse complimented her on her attire, as well as the colour of it, her demeanor changed, adopting a more pleasant tone. "Oh, this?" She asked, tugging at her scarf and raising her voice over the music, "thanks! I mean, I just throw my outfit together, so I didn't really think about it. You look like you know your stuff, though. That dress looks great on you!" She said, smiling at the rather tall figure, although that looked a little awkward, considering she had to look up constantly. Something struck her as odd, though. Did she know this woman? "Uh... This is gonna sound a little strange, but have we met, before?" She asked, a puzzled expression on her face.

Storm huffed, the hunger in his belly slowly giving way to agitation. The crowd was thickening, making it a bit harder to maneuver as he was stuck, starved and annoyed. He caught small snippets of the tall farm horse's conversation here and there. It was all about fashion. Great.

The fox's ears drooped in annoyance. All he wanted was a freaking slice of hot, meat-covered, savory, melted cheese-covered goodness and now he was stuck listening to the three girls next to him prattling on about...

"...but I'm the first three results that'll come up when you search for ExclusiVenus"

Storm's left ear flicked. Perhaps it was a hallucination caused by his extreme hunger state (He hadn't eaten in four hours!), but suddenly, the universe revealed itself to him as he began to flashback to the computer repair shop, a week and a half back....

A sly, toothy grin spread across the fox's face as he slowly and quietly crept up behind his coworker, the carpeted floor swallowing his footfalls in silence as he drew closer to the bespectacled rodent. The blue-white glow of a laptop monitor was the only source of illumination in the room, and cast a ghostly white sheen over the groundhog's glasses as he stared deeply into the web page in front of him. Slowly, the highly-evolved predator leaned in on his quarry, breaths silent and controlled as he contemplated the moment to strike. Then, with cunning resolve, he goes in for the kill!

"HEY DAVE! Burning the midnight oil?" The fox cupped his hand heavily over the rodent's shoulder, perhaps to keep him from jumping out of his chair. And the rodent certainly tried. Ever inch of fur bristled underneath his generic modern first-person shooter t-shirt.

"AHHH! NO! I-I-Mean... Yes! Yes, just making sure that number fifteen is all ready to go back to our customer tomorrow."

"Uh huh. Good. I see that her Firefox bookmarks are working just fine."

"Y-yeah. I accidentally clicked on the wrong icon when doing a... drive recalibration..."

"OH Whew. What a relief. For a second there I thought you were snooping through a very attractive customer's private internet browser because you're too intimidated to strike up a conversation with a beautiful lady off the cuff, so you had to cheat and look through all her links to see what her interests are in hopes of pretending that you're just as much into..." the fox squinted at the screen for a moment. "...Just as into fashion and beauty products as she is."

"I... I mean, yeah. When you say it like that..."

"You aren't going to be able to fake her caliber of fashion sense anyway. Geek Chic is pretty far removed from what she's into." The fox reached over and put his finger to the laptop's mouse pad and clicked on the RSS Feed.

"You won't tell the boss, will you?"

"I'm sure he'd just laugh anyway." Storm muttered. "Besides, I'll save this in case I need to blackmail you for something in the future." he said, clicking on another link and opening a new tab. "Huh... Exclusive Ve-- ExclusiVenus. THERE'S a different kind of blog name for you."

The gurgling of Storm's stomach brought him back to the real world, where he was hungry and stopped over at a small town carnival.

"Wow, it really is a small world I live in." He shook his head and turned back to the tall, pretty horse behind him, clearing his throat and trying his best to speak above the throbbing music that had suddenly started playing.

"Excuse me! Sorry to interrupt Miss Venus, I just wanted to let you know that one of my coworkers is a huuuge fan of yours, and I was just wondering if I could get a selfie later, just to tease him a bit."

'He's not goin' for it Zeph, just leave the guy be.'
'...yeah, ah guess you're right, aww well... Ah tried. '

A notable pout appeared on the golden beak of the avian Mobian as he lowered his arm, feeling pretty much as awkward as he was when he was just staring before. It was short lived however as he shrugged and took flight once again with his cotton candy in his hand.

Just ahead, he spotted the horse girl from before again. The pink haired hyena had re-surfaced even though he was certain she never left in the first place, and now the fox he remembered from that past day was talking to her as well.

Another fox, male this time had appeared from the crowd and began to call to the taller female to ask for a 'selfie' to tease a coworker of his. He liked this guys way of thinking and couldn't suppress the amused chuckle that escaped him. "Heh, she's popular with all kinds ah people it seems," he spoke aloud to nobody in particular as he hovered closer to the ground, not quite touching it. "Hopefully they ain't harrassin' her too much or ah'll have to spoil their fun sadly."

He looked over to the forming group around the taller-than-most girl and couldn't help but grin in relief when she held a cheerful gaze as each of the ones around her conversed with her on the probably different subjects. Thinking back, he was sure he had seen her in a magazine one of his co-workers had. He was certain it was her, after all how many attractive horse models are around this area?

Getting lost in thought, the blue bird hadn't kept his attention on his sweet, and because if his lingering thoughts he now had a clump of the light blue substance stuck to the side of his face.

"Aww man! Why do ah let things distract me?" His exclamation was louder than intended and had gained the attention of a few surrounding festival goers by accident. He immediately felt very small and a shy look took over his face at the sets of eyes giving him a funny look.  "Uhh, sorry folks, nothing to see here apart from a goofball," he nervously scratched being his head. "Don't mind me, heheheh... "

As the gazes drifted off of him along with a few childish giggles, the male sighed to himself and went over to a nearby bench to take a seat and begin trying to pick the sugary cotton from his face feathers. "Man, what a weird day this has been so far."
