Dance with the Devil

"yes I do" lillith went next to azzar. "Wow they just keep coming"

"Sometimes I wish I could touch a star with my paw, but knowing how clumsy I am, I'd likely crush it."

"We need to notify Belial."

Willow started laughing. "Yeah where is he again?"

Lotus laughed too. "Aren't you glad to see it again?"

Belial was actually present, but was completely frozen when he was them arrive. It took a good tentacle slap to snap him out of it.

"T-they're here!"

"see what again?" "Don't show you're scared.. pretend that are lil cones. Talk and be confident"

"The night sky."

Belial nodded and stood up. "Ladies and gentlemen, may I have your attention, please?"

"The sooner the meeting commences, the better." And just like that, all mages started going to the meeting room. Those that were here for the first time didn't waste time asking questions and just followed the others.

"well I was able to see in the body I was trapped in." Lillith followed the other mages "I hope this goes well"

"But throught your own eyes..."

Legion's many mirror images were helping the mages find their respective seats, but the ones near the door to big, round room were checking if each and every person was a member of the UMC.

Lillith was not.

"yes..it does feel nice to see through my own eyes..." Lillith looked at legion. Please can't you just sneak me in? I can even make an illusion for me to look like a mage?"

Lotus jumped up and saw that the tents were up. "can you find Autumn, please?"

"Sorry, I can't. There's an exact number of seats and no one's missing. It would be suspicious."

"why? I'm sure he doesn't like me or something" "what if I was like a...Fly or something"

"because you should never be alone in a forest. please, he's just a meanie."

Legion's mirror image scratched its head. "Sure, I guess. If you have the magic to do that."

Willow sighed. "Good point" then she started walking. Lillith tried to make the illusion that she was a lil butterfly.

She found him sitting under a tree, trying to make throwing knives out of the fallen twigs with his claws. He didn't seem to notice her.

It worked; everything seemed so big. Legion kept his word and let her in. "Be free, Butterfree!"

Willow walked over to him. "Are you always going to be a loner?" "Thank you legion. " Lillith tried to fly next to the illusionist. She whispered. "Can you keep a secret"

"Doesn't really seem like I have a choice. Things don't often work out."

The illusionist sighed. "Another one?"

"they don't work out because you're not making an effort to make it work" "another one? I told you one last time?"

"You're right, maybe next time I'll go ahead and die to a freakin' plant. I lost faith in this long ago."

"Figure of speech; I know a lot of secrets."

"do not say that. Losing faith is the ultimate failure. One never truly fails until they give up in trying." "Well can you keep this one? I'm not exactly supposed to be here..."

"I've been with gramps and Lotus for a couple of months now. We haven't found anything."

"Sure." Azzar and Belial were appear to start their speech, but the lightning mage, speaking on behalf of all mages, interrupted them.

"I highly recommend voting right now, as we have other things that need discussion." Legion's mirror images started handing out pens and papers.

Both the Devil and Azzar were a bit disappointed; what was all that preparation for?

"and you've got me so stop complaining and get up!" Lillith wasn't going to let this happen. She started knocking the pens off of the table and landed on the lightning mage. "If you plan on making to subject of change in a rush you'll miss and won't have time to see the actual change. Are you a fool? Can't the SE the devil himself is here?" Lillith said in a best "I'm wise and old butterfly " voice she could manage.

Autumn took his makeshifts knives and stood up.

The lightning mage reconsidered, but didn't know it was the butterly that said it. Her conscience had the weirdest ideas lately.

"Althought we should still listen to what the concerned parties have to say about it." A few mages questioned this, but since she was authority, they just trusted her.

"come on then" "thank you for listening. Your time will not be wasted"

Autumn followed her into the camp. The fire the dryads set up was green and Lotus and gramps were helping themselves to some marshmallows.

Belial cleared his throat and started. "My dearest mages, I am honored that you have gathered here in this house of magic tonight, for I know your conscience gave you no other choice.

This way of settling our differences is not just. 

This business of enslaving an entire civilization, filling our nation's hearts with fear, confusion and sorrow.

I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone, if possible. Voidling, Mobian, Demon...

We all want to help one another; sentient beings are like that. We want to live by each other's happiness, not by each other's misery.

And so, I humbly ask of you to keep the curtain lifted so that all of us may see and perhaps one day stand together as one."

With everyone gone and about, the kitchen felt really empty. "Huh, I guess everyone's got more important things to do," Legion mumbled as he looked for ingredients. "Have I ever told you about that one time someone stole my robes?"

"how did you get marshmallows?" Lillith was watching this speech that sounded odly similar. ((Omg that great dictator speech is amazing))
"No you haven't. Why were they stolen?"
