Dance with the Devil

"Some angry monster. Killed thirty thousand in less than half a day," Ris said with a hint of fear. "Anywaaayyy... I was told you guys need some help."

They came across violet blood and numerous severed tentacles. "Voidlings..." The devil sounded angry.

""oh...well I need you to be the representat the demon population to help convince the other mages to not put the bubble up again." Lillith looked at the tentacles. "Azzar....oh no...please let it not be him...." Lillith got a chill.

"Okay," Ris said nonchalantly. "Can I dance for them?"

The Watcher shook his head. "No. That wouldn't work."

"Azzar? Wasn't that the recently appointed bishop?"

A figure appeared in the distance on a rooftop, its violet robes tattered and nothing but blackness underneath.

"Just talk...." Recin said. Lillith looked like she was going to panic."oh gosh he must of came here looking for me!!!!" Lillith looked up to see the figure.

"Oh! That reminds me," Ris looked at Recin, smiling. "I wanted to talk to you. In private."

The figure climbed down and approached her. Even though he looked as if he went through Hell several times, judging by his torn and dirty clothes, it was still him. "Lillith?"

"Really now? Um.. OK then.." Recin said. Lillith walked closer but slowly. She was still a little scared. "Azzar? What...what have you done?! Did you do this... because of me?"

All of them were teleported to the UMC's fortress and Ris dragged him off to one of the rooms.

Legion went back to game room to keep Wendigo company. The Watcher sighed.

"I lost it after he took you away," Azzar said. "When I got here and asked about you Lillith, they became immediately hostile. All I did was defend myself."

The devil snickered. "Really, now? It was all but a fair trade; I did return her back to Liela when the deal wasn't good anymore," he told him. "Those people weren't any angels, that's for sure, but self-defence becomes kind of a moot excuse when you kill so many of them..." 

Azzar walked past Lillith and glared at the Devil; he wanted to beat the ever-loving crud out of him.

Wendigo wanted to play another game. Lillith got in between. "Guys let's not fight here..just... Azzar..I'm here now..."

Still under some disappointment, he gave her a game that didn't relly on learning, but on luck. He told her that a malevolent spirit known as RNG determined whether or not she would succeed. It was called Dungeons & Dragons.

Azzar thought of at least forty painful ways to murder the Devil, but Lillith's words made him back off. 

"You know, this place was slowly dying off; if nothing else, you've helped it," the Devil assured him. "I wanted this land back."

"You don't look so happy....I'm sorry I'm not that talented..." Even though she was happy to play another game, she noticed how legion's face change when Recin told him about the spell he casted in her.

"Well....then if you wanted the land then there...you have it..." Lillith went and hugged Azzar. "I'm so sorry...I should of went straight back to you bit things just started popinng up."

Legion smiled weakly. "It's fine. At least you're a nice person."

"Well, to my credit, I am kinda hard to find." He hugged her back. The Devil silently nodded; with most of the male population obliterated, he could probably go in and take the land with just one platoon of soldiers.

"I dont....want to play any more....." Wendigo said sadly. She felt sad about it. "I'm sorry for wasting your time....I'll probably just..." Wendigo walked to a corner and sat. She looked down.

"you should clean yourself...youre very dirty.." Lillith said smiling.

He sat down next to her. "You're not wasting my time; I'm wasting yours, in fact. Three hours of fun you know you aren't getting back!" He laughed as he said that.

"Boss won't be pleased that I ruined yet another set," Azzar said, giggling. "Just so you know, he makes them by himself."

"Maybe...but what's the fun if after I fail I just win perfectly..." Her ears dropped down. "Wow you get all your clothes made by your boss? Wow....that's cool.."

"Ever told anyone a story? Has your mum ever told you a bedtime story?" He noticed the pattern of just her mechanical skills improving; things like arm and finger coordination, timing – technical stuff. Even the drawing.

But what about something completely original? Ideas come and go; they aren't something that can be, in her own words, 'failed and then won perfectly.'

"He's a really nice person, unlike that guy standing behind you."

The Devil crossed his arms and frowned.

"I don't remember my mom.......and I haven't told a story of beds before..." Lillith almost pushed Azzar. "Hey...he's the one who got me a new soul gem...I have tow eyes now!!" Lillith lifted up her hair to show her other eye that rapidly glowed from one color to the next. "He's nice and even t-" Lillith jerked her hand up and water spayed Azzar. "Grrr guys!!! That's not funny!!!"

He told her a bedtime story meant for small children and made his voice sound very soothing. It was about a small, one-legged tin soldier, how he got lost, the adventures he had and how he finally came back home.

Azzar didn't really mind her how many eyes she had and took her newly-acquired powers with a pinch of sugar. "Well, at least I'm not dirty anymore."

"That's a nice story... Was it real? " Lillith laughed nervously. "I'm sorry Azzar...I don't really have that much control over the other powers..."

"No, though with magic being everpresent, I'd call it at least plausible," he said smiling. "Come on, I hate seeing you all sad like that."

He gave another look at the Devil and the Devil showed him a rude hand gesture. "I tried my best, okay? I didn't know that would happen."

"fine...just show me the game your were going to show me earlier.. something about dragons in dungeons?" "Azzar don't give him that look. It's my fault...I have more than one conscious in me.."

He helped her up and showed her the game. Because she couldn't read, he gave her the abridged version. 

"Warrior – can take a beating, Rogue – sneaky guy with dagger and Mage – squishy person with spells. Ever seen a dice? Everything you do is determined by a throw, with one meaning epic failure, six meaning great  success and the rest just mediocre results." 

In case she didn't know, he took a dice from one of the tables and showed it to her.

"Knew all along. Didn't care." The Devil returned the glare right at him.

"Why? Is that normal for you tentale-lovers?"

"Which one should I be?" "wait how could you possibly know?! I never showed any physical sign.. unless.." Lillith looked at Azzar.'can you read minds? If so say ambivalence...'

"Warriors have it easiest. The guy in armour carrying a sword"

"Ambivalence," Azzar says. "But the range is very, very limited."

"Than I'll be that then. What now?* Wendigo asked. Lillith jumped. All the voices in her head started to panic and scream making Lillith grabbing her head tightly. "Please...calm down..." 'NO!' 'kill the tentacle monster before it kills us!!!' 'kill it kill it kill it's 'WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE!!! KILL IT!!!' 'everyone...you are making Lillith hurt.... please calm dow-' 'NO KILL IT!!' 'burn it!!!'

Legion pressed a button that said 'next' and she was greeted by a subclass menu. "There are many types of warriors and because it is hard to define what exactly it is, you have quite a few to choose from. There's speedy ones, hard-hitting ones, ones that can take a lot of beating and everyone combination that's in between."

'Relax, I won't harm any of you.'
