(Heyyyyyy everyone! I'm being that guy and starting a wintery RP! If anyone wants to join in for the fun you're more than welcome! Zephyros makes his debut here, so if you have a character who wishes to meet him, then come on down!)

The sun was out, the various coloured flickies were flitting from tree to tree and Mobians and humans alike could be seen everywhere, whether that be for the purpose of shopping, work or just seeing some younger children out and about playing in the fresh coat of snow that had taken residence the night before.
One child, a small golden labrador male had begun to climb up a nearby hill with his dark blue sled. He had been dared to go up by his group of friends, and he was feeling rather nervous. The hill in itself was rather steep and he was only a pup after all. He eventually made it, only to look down and notice his five friends all standing at the bottom cheering for him to go.
They looked tiny from up there. It unnerved his little seven year old body. A child's perceptive is a fickle thing, but he was not about to let his friends call him a fraidy cat, especially because he was being referred to as a cat of all things. He placed the sled at thew very edge of the hill and backed up before running full pelt towards the painted wooden toy.
The next thing he knew, he was soaring down the steep decline, with no signs of slowing as his friends almost too quickly grew back to their full size as he neared them. He began to scream in terror as it all became too much for his little body to handle.
The, from out of nowhere, a loud boom of thunder was heard, followed by a strong gust of wind.
The male puppy was too scared to even notice that a pair of arms had lifted him from his sled until he felt the wind no longer whipping his face in all directions. He looked up nervously and stared in surprise as a midnight blue male with bright teal coloured hair softly gazed back at him, his eyes a strong gold.
"Hey there kid, nobody should be going that fast down a hill like that! You trying to go back in time or somethin'?"
The kid looked around and couldn't help but notice they were flying in the air. The older male had taken time out of his life to jump in and save him.
They touched down on to the ground a moment later as the Labradors friends rushed over to them in a frenzy.
"Thank you mister! You saved our friends life!" One of the kids in the group spoke excitedly regardless of the danger that just happened before.
The older male waved off the thanks and smiled widely at the children before him. "Don't mention it, really. Just play safer from now on." He bent down to the kid he just saved who looked up at him, his bright green scarf hiding the bottom half of his face. "Remember for the future, kid. If a hill looks too big to be playin' on, it probably is."
A strong beat of his wings left a familiar gust of wind behind as the snow around the kids swirled around them playfully.

The older male soared over the city on his powerful wings, doing a double check that everything else in the area was alright with no criminal activity or people in danger. Sure the snow and winter as a whole was fun, but nobody thought to remember how quickly something could go wrong. He personally thought it hilarious when someone slipped on ice, but he knew better than to laugh out loud as that was rude. He would do it if he saw a friend slip and slide though, but he wasn't sure if he even had one of those really.
He shook his head from those thoughts and opened his now hazel-yellow eyes to take one last look before landing in the park again. He looked around and nodded to himself before taking a stroll around the crowded area to keep a general eye on things.

Meanwhile, across the snowy landscape, two figures moved through the thick, icy white blanket that covered the streets.

One of them was a hedgehog, with red spines that covered his body. He was wrapped up warm, with a thick jacket and jeans, as well as large gloves and a blue scarf. He was also wearing a pair of boots that allowed some protection against the biting cold.

The other was a fox, mostly white in colour, with a few bits of grey here and there. She had a similarly thick jacket, as well as black slacks and large black boots. She also wore a scarf, which practically covered the lower half of her jaw.

The fox looked at the hedgehog, smiling widely before reaching out and pushing him "watch you don't slip!" She said loudly, watching him slide across the ice with an unsettling amount of glee. The hedgehog stumbled as he slid across the thick ice that lined the streets, before he crouched down and put his hand on the ground to generate some kind of friction to stop him. "That's not even funny, Rai! What if I broke my neck?" He said, looking up at the fox.
"I'd laugh. Hard." She replied bluntly.
The hedgehog chuckled as he gathered up a small amount of snow, forming it into a ball. He stood up and quickly threw it at the fox "surprise attack!" He shouted as he did so.

The fox held up an arm to block the icy projectile, smiling "you're such a kid." She muttered, before scraping some snow off postbox in the street and retaliating in the same way.

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Zed buried his face in the fluffy lining of his black winter coat. As a wolf who lived in the warmer parts of the continent, seeing snow and feeling the cold air nip at him was always exhilarating. Had it not been for he people around, he would've grabbed a handful and thrown it into the air, just to have it gently fall back onto his green coat and exposed hair, as he would twirl and dance beneath it. But now was not the time, and this was not the place.

At this time, Zed needed to keep his wits about him, and his attention levels at high alert. After hearing reports of strange goings on in the area, the higher ups at the budding paranormal investigation bureau, Kanyon Korps., had sent the wolf to investigate. The reports were merely rumors, and the details were kept vague, and so it was hardly worth sending more than a single person, or operator as Zed liked to say.

As giddy as he was to see a new city, this was the first time Zed had been alone for a very long time. In the many months he had stayed at the Kanyon condo, or Kondo as the marketing team insisted, the wolf couldn't take 10 paces without having someone there to talk too. Even in the more dicey of scenarios, he would have a colleague, or even a close friend by his side.

Zed took off his glasses and wiped the condensation off. He couldn't let his focus come into question. As he crossed the street and wandered into the park, he slid glasses back on and hid the lower half of his face. It was almost like playing secret agent.

"Keep your eyes peeled, try not to garner attention, and stay out of trouble" he repeated to himself, as Kenneth Kanyon had to the days leading up to his trip.

(Right everyone, I've deleted my last post because I sorta messed up the order. I was half asleep please don't judge me xD.
The order is now Foreva, Red, Jared and Mr Famous so far. ^^)

Walking up a pathway that spread across the park area, the night sky coloured male discreetly smiled from underneath his emerald scarf. He loved the winter months to no end. The snow covered everything in a beautiful blanket of calm and peace, not to mention it brought out the inner kid in everyone he mentally pointed out as he passed a family having a snowball fight in which he swiftly dodged a stray ball at the last second.

Yeah all was well.

The male fidgeted with his scarf to wrap it around his neck better and exposed his golden yellow beak that still held the same soft smile as it had earlier. He chuckled as he saw a pair of Mobians having their own rendition of a snowball fight against each other. He twitched his spatuled tail feathers out of habit as he sensed another snowball come hurtling towards him from the opposite direction in which he was walking. He ducked and watched from his crouched position as it soared over him and towards the couple who he was still near and couldn't hold back the loud laugh that escaped him.

He turned and looked to see if he could figure out who was throwing the snowballs in his general direction. It was probably just a random kid playing around because he was on duty and had his uniform on, but there was always the off chance it could be someone less friendly and innocent who would want to distract him. He never could be too careful, even in times like this.

shaking off his mental worries, he pondered why he even thought someone would want to spoil a perfect day like this. It was a very low chance that was the actual case after all. He stretched out his large wings along with his arms and slowly trudged off again in the opposite direction to keep up his work.
Before he could even register what was going on, his legs slipped from underneath him and his behind hit the icy ground as a surprised "oof!" escaped him.

The fox and the hedgehog continued exchanging the balls of snow in each others direction, occasionally one hitting the other's jacket, leaving a white patch behind. Caen chuckled as his arm wound back to deliver another swift throw, until a snowball came seemingly out of nowhere and hit him square in the jaw, causing his head to snap backwards. He let out a yell as the sharp coldness got to him. Raito almost immediately laughed in a loud, almost obnoxious fashion, doubling over from the sheer comedic value of the moment. Soon enough, he regained his composure, and looked in the direction of this surprise attack, noticing a dark blue bird, presumably a hummingbird, from the structure of their beak.

The bird appeared to laugh at Caen's predicament, all but confirming the hedgehog's suspicion of him being the perpetrator. He shook his head, a smile growing across his face, before he shouted the word "hey!" Raito turned back, saying "nice shot," cutting herself off when she saw the bird's feet slip from underneath him, causing him to land on the hard ice. Caen and Raito looked at each other, with Raito saying "payback's a bitch, am I right?" before they both laughed hard. Caen walked up to him casually as he wiped a tear from his eye, "you alright?" He asked, as he held a hand out to the bird to help him up.

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Zed couldn't help but smile at the sights of the park. The family of foxes reminded him of the days he and his grandmother would take walks in the fall evenings, taking a break to go to the bakery to get fresh, cinnamon rolls right out of the oven. The duo engaging in a snowball fight reminded him of Dave and Holly, and the fun the three would have together, whether engaged in a battle or just shooting the breeze. Those were some good times.

Zed froze in mid step when he saw the smallest of the fox family suddenly disappear. Quickly collecting himself, he turned away and ran behind a tree to keep himself hidden. Unfortunately, it was a tree that had long been stripped of it's leaves, and once Zed realized his error, he made sure to jump behind a proper pine tree instead.

There was no doubting it, Zed had just seen some strange goings on just as Kanyon had told him. Was this the work of the jewel that gave Zed his power? He had seen folks who could turn body parts into hooks, and conjure exploding fireflies, was teleportation out of the question. Confused, Zed crouched down to try to hide his form from the teleporting child and gather some information.

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Post by ForevaYoung Wed Dec 07, 2016 6:50 am

The dark feathered male sat confused in the ground as he watched the hedgehog and fox slowly approach him, slight giggles and laughs floated over him from all around. He shook his head as he came back to the present to see the hedgehog held out a friendly hand to help him back on his feet.

'Way to go Zeph, ya done goofed once again... ' he mentally scolded himself all the while pondering why his combat boots decided to suddenly lose their normal grip on the slippery ground like that. As he made eye contact with the red male he steadily took his hand and hoisted himself back up to his full height once again.

"Hey thanks, man. Got no idea what just happened. One minute there was a snowball and next I'm on my butt watching the world pass me by like I'm a tree or somethin'..." He made what could only be recognised as a salute to the two "Names Zephyros, but you can call me Zeph if that's too much of a mouthful for ya. Thanks for helping a downed officer, heh."

As he lowered his gesture a young fox kid seemingly phased into existence just beside the two others and commented about their snowball fight. By the sounds of the tone, he was intrigued and was looking to see if he could somehow join in on the fun. He took into account that it wasn't every day that a child just merely appeared the way this one did, but he couldn't see the harm in the youngster wanting to play.

Looking over to the two females whom the child had been with previously, he waved over towards them. "You're alright with him being away from you, ladies? I know obviously I'm an officer of the law but just gotta check that y'all know he's here and not in trouble."

He lowered his arm from waving and turned back to the male hedgehog, remembering the look he gave him before he had his unfortunate meeting with the ground. "Oh yeah, it actually wasn't me who threw the snowball. There's been rogues flying around all day as I'm doin' the rounds. Some kids tryin' to distract me when I'm on duty and all that probably, but s'all good fun."

He narrowed his eyes slightly as he noticed the distinct movement of someone dive behind a tree to hide. At first he believed it to be suspicious, but decided not to act on it unless something further happened.

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Post by The Red Blur Wed Dec 07, 2016 9:40 am

After the hedgehog helped the fallen bird, he gave Caen a salute, referring to himself as 'Zephyros'. He appeared to give some sort of salute, as he said that he was an 'officer'. An officer of what, exactly, was unclear. Raito walked closer towards him "hey, I'm an officer of the law, too! Well, commander, actually." She said, chuckling, before lifting her right hand and saluting Zephyros. "Raito Bolt. G.U.N. Commander of squadron 45."

Caen looked over at Raito, before he bowed, in a theatrical style "and I am Caen Flare. I'd consider myself a civilian."
"That's just 'cause you'll never take a damn job with us." Raito remarked.
"Well, that's part of the reason."

Soon, a small fox child appeared, seemingly out of nowhere, causing the hedgehog to jump back. The fox expressed interest in a snowball fight that was going on moments ago. Caen nodded his head "it's okay to join us, if you'd like. Well, so long as it's okay with whoever you're with." Caen said. Raito just nodded, and replied "what he said."

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Post by Mr. Spivey Thu Dec 08, 2016 3:24 am

Zed mentally took notes on the crew he was spying on. Everything appeared to be in order. He decided that if that child had some kind of power, his guardians would be more than able to keep him in check. The wolf couldn't help but giggle at this point. Was he, even for a second, thinking of trying something to a child, in front of a police officer no less? What a foolish thought he had.

Suddenly, Zed's mind snapped back to attention. If those two older women had powers, they too ought to be considered dangerous. Zed considered leaving this crew to the police and snooping around town a bit more, but in the back of his head, he knew that that was a terribly irresponsible thing to do.

"Keep your eyes peeled, try not to garner attention, and stay out of trouble" Zed repeated, pulling his hood over his head and stepping away from the tree. He pretended to pick something up to try to hide suspicion and proceeded to walk away from it, not towards the group directly, but towards a snow covered bench not too far from them. Thinking for a second, this seemed like a far less conspicuous option, smarter too. No one would suspect a wolf sitting on a bench of anything suspicious.

A Winters Day in Central City Empty Re: A Winters Day in Central City

Post by ForevaYoung Thu Dec 08, 2016 10:05 pm

(Sorry for posting so late, works been killing me all day xD
Mr.Famous, might I suggest editing your post to change your font to white? I had to highlight it all to read it Dx)

"Ohh G.U.N Agents are here as well. Commander? Nice! I'm just a simple Police Investigator, ma'am. Nothin' fancy like you, heh."

It wasn't every day someone like him would get to meet an agent, never mind a Commander of G.U.N! It was an honour to him. He then looked over to the red hedgehog who bowed dramatically as he announced his status as 'civilian', which made him laugh a little bit. It was weird to talk to people like this, but it wasn't a bad weird. He smiled at the kid who had decided to join them once he got clarification from the two female foxes, and as fast as lightning he bend down and brushed his left wing over the snow covered ground to flick it up like a spray to get all three standing before him at once.

"Gotcha!" Was all he smirked as he suddenly took off into the air as he held a small pile of snow in his bare hands. He stopped and hovered a few extra feet above the others as he formed snowballs and tossed them downwards in a playful manner.

It wasn't seen by anyone else, but the secondary reason why he took to the air was to keep an eye on the male who had proceeded to come from his hiding place and sit on a bench that was nearby them. His hood was up over his head, so he couldn't properly distinguish what the Mobian was, but from the tail he could guess them to be a canine of some sorts. Perhaps a fox, or a wolf maybe? Regardless, he just felt that there was something strange with the guy.

Coming back to the real world away from his deep thoughts, he shook his head, hoping he didn't focus too hard on his head. It was what made his powers show to others, most notably by the change in colour of his eyes.
It wasn't anything remarkable, but Zephyros was proud of his ability to tell when someone wasn't being completely sincere. It helped in many cases, and it even spanned out to him getting weird feelings about people who normally turned out to be doing something out of the norm. Granted, he had to actually be talking to the person in question or generally be near them to get a feel for the others 'aura', but it was helpful nonetheless.

Zephryos slowly descended towards the ground again, but kept himself suspended in the air to ensure his ability to dodge any more snowballs, should they attempt to try and attack his face.
