Afterlife in your stories? Empty Re: Afterlife in your stories?

To be honest, I... Haven't really thought of that before. Characters' deaths aren't a very common occurrence in my writing, which is probably the reason for my lack of thought on the subject.

Depends on universe. In one of my post apocalyptic universes, there simply isn't one. Whereas in another, the afterlife DOES exist, though the memories of it are like a faint dream if one is to come back.

There's no way for their mind to register it properly in that case, so any memories can be regarded as again, just a dream.

Finally, when it comes to Sonic Universes, usually I have one in mind. I mean, I have an entire faction of demons, so... XD

For me, I have a special purgatory, but Heaven and Hell exists.
It's a bunch of multiverse stuff, but simply put, when someone dies in my writing, their soul usually goes through Feign - "The world between life and death" - and is eventually sent to an afterlife. Feign on its own is an infinite plane of blackness where physics in our world sort of works in reverse, with an infinite number more dimensions than our own. It's mostly barren, but if you were to enter Feign, there's a chance(albeit low) that you'll find a building known as "Feignite Temple".

I haven't really thought of an in-depth afterlife for my writing for my sonic fan characters! Regarding the characters themselves, I vaguely remember once having a ghostly whisp-like character that would haunt this mansion or whatever, and for whatever reason it couldn't pass on to the afterlife? But that is honestly all I remember. I may put more thought into it in the coming days/months though!

For other franchises and original concepts I do have this sort of system called The Game of Equilibrium. And to sum it up: the truest gods are simply playing an endlessly repeating, friendly turf war/chess game across the multiverse. No multiverse domination, no searching for divine or hellish rule for all eternity, it's all a game!
