The Future of Mobius Empty The Future of Mobius

Post by The_Terror Tue Sep 13, 2016 4:01 am

Plot: The year is 2189. Technology has advanced to the point where everything is digital or electronical. As technology advanced, most of the environmental problems were resolved. Unfortunately, not all were able to be resolved in the most sensible manner. Artificial islands, floating cities, cities upon cities, underwater cities, and underground cities now exist. To get to these places, special equipment is needed. Along with the advances in technology, there are new crimes and criminal masterminds at work. Some may just be trying to earn a living while others have more insidious intentions. As for the citizens, the ones that can afford it, have cybernetic implants in their systems to help with common, everyday problems or with their disabilities. Some of the citizens even use cybernetic implants to improve their own longevity, strength, flexibility, agility, endurance, speed, or thinking. The police department utilize these cybernetic implants often to help with cases and to detain criminals. Life has certainly improved; or so it seems. These things, all these advances in technology, cannot be maintained by an organic lifeform. Instead, an A.I. codenamed “Malware 2.0”, the name of an infamous but long since forgotten Mobian hacker, has been developed to maintain all operations that needs supervision. As time goes on, Malware starts to recognize that the people really, really enjoy technology and mistakenly starts to plan on how to achieve technological singularity with each and every citizen. Transhumanism and transmobianism groups believe that this is a wonderful decision and actively support Malware's quest through persuasion or force. People like Trepidation, a tall, slender, somewhat crazy vixen with nanobots inside her body, believe that achieving technological singularity will lead to the downfall of organic life. If she could, she would go against Malware's quest, but she has no power over the decision on whether to stop him or not since the Malware A.I. has the control of entire cities and citizens even. Yes, life has certainly improved but at what cost? Will you help Malware complete his quest in achieving technological singularity, or will you help Trepidation and any other resistors of technological singularity to stop Malware in his quest, or will you watch on the sidelines to see who becomes the victor in this endeavor? The opportunities are open; you just need to choose which one to take.

Side Notes: This is an idea I've had in mind from other sites, but never could do since I didn't have the time. Anyways, take a glance and see what you think. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how I'll do this. This is also a refresher for my roleplaying abilities since I've been gone for a while.

To be honest, I'd much rather that I figure things out by myself. It's not that I don't trust you, but I've had one too many instances of creating an idea and it being someone else's idea. Also had instances where I make a roleplay only to get ignored in my own roleplay. So... No. I don't need help. Sorry. Just being cautious.
