The room was dark, the concrete walls were at least smooth, besides the dark stains running down their surfaces every so often. The single small, white LED light embedded in the centre of the roof did very little to illuminate the room, but it allowed for sight. While the room itself was bland, the furniture within it was of a much higher quality.

A hand carved coffee table, and couch sat in the centre, along with a mahogany rocking chair. A Queen Double bed, intended for one stood in the far corner, the rich red bedsheets giving quite the contrast to the dark room.

The door was a thick, yet rusted Iron, with large patches of oxidised iron streaking down the rough exterior, There was no window, but the need for an escape was highly unlikely, there were certain perks to living in an abandoned high-security prison. It wasn't exactly abandoned, but that was the idea behind the decor, besides this particular room of course.

The couch was currently occupied by the frog, who had recently purchased the Prison. His denim jeans crinkled as he stood up, making his way to the fridge, located on the far wall. The vents around the room allowed for excellent air conditioning, but sometimes on a hot day, it was easy to become dehydrated.

His webbed feet slapped against the cold floor, and his hand, similarly webbed, grabbed the fridge door handle. A wave of cold washed over him as the door opened, and his hand made its way to a pack of bottled water.

Just as his fingers made contact with the plastic wrapping, the gentle hum of the fridge dully buzzing as ambience, a sharp ring called out from next to the cooler. The phone.

"You're kidding."

He let go of the bottled water pack, and sidestepped to the telephone, his foot making a loud slap as it did so.

"Yes?"

There was an unfamiliar voice on the other end, the order was short, and the price was high.

"I see. Yeah, no worries. Can do."

The Frog put the phone down, grabbing his jacket from the rocking chair, and slipping his way into it. He armed himself with his rifle, and a few other tactical devices of various sorts, which he dropped into the pouches present on his jeans and jacket.

While the tantalising promise of money for the task at hand was beyond tempting, by the sound of the operation, he wasn't going to be able to complete it on his own. He was going to need as capable help as he could get, and the margin for Capable was going to have to be tight.

He could make a broadcast, attuned specifically to reach Military, or at least Military standard receivers. Some soldiers could be quite useful for this, and they'd likely be willing to do it without a cut of the pay. Even if there were others who showed up, considering their equipment, they could also be willing to do it 'for the greater good'.

Weighing the risk, vs Weighing the outcome, he picked up his broadcasting equipment, a small sleek briefcase, with a receiver and transmitter attached.

"Gonna have to call in something extra for this one."

Mumbling to himself was something the frog did quite often. And he did it famously while walking, which he was currently doing on his way out of the abandoned complex.

Once outside, he opened up the briefcase, taking out the transmitter and tuning the frequency to meet the needs of the broadcast.

"Ahem. Reporting to all nearby personal. Just received word of a hostile creature on the loose, wounding and killing civilians in the nearby district, I require assistance in taking it down. This is a discreet operation, civilians must not be informed of the true nature of the operation."

"Available forces must congregate at the Co-ordinates 118.679 East, by 36.27 South. The creature at large is highly dangerous and extreme caution must be taken."

He wasn't sure who would show up, but he hoped the result would be a group of combat ready heroes, disinterested in any pay. But if they were interested in a bit of pay, he'd of course have to give it to them, luckily there was no flat rate.

He began making his way to the Jeep, the dark night would hide him from the creature for at least a good while, but he'd have to lay low until he reached the destination, while the city illuminating the horizon was known to be a more quiet city, the population was still relatively high.

The risk of further attacks taking place within the city was high, and if they were going to track down the creature, they were going to need to make their way to the City as fast as possible, Specifically, the Co-ordinates he'd given.

"Incoming transmission on open frequency playing now"

-The message reached far and wide it seemed and on a open frequency, who knows who would be listening in on it, some where out there some one was, some one who knew distress signals could not be ignored, unfortunately he was in no position himself to help but it didn't mean he had to, a Hybrid wolf Jackle picks up a com device to issue a quick order.-

"This is Lysander to central base, Omega team do you copy over."

"This is Omega leader we read over whats the situation ?"

"Immediate distress signal emanating near by your location, message contains these co-ordinates follow them via GPS and access the situation, the target seems hostile, neutralize orders, you must deploy immediately.."

"Roger that Omega team will deploy ASAP Omega leader out"

-Soon enough 4 soldiers identically dressed and armed were on their way, thankfully the co-ordinates patched in via the message made tracking far easier then winging it. The sound of combat boots across the surface was indistinguishable, well co-ordinate force moving with no area unclear from a weapons sight.

The team would eventually get a little notification from the GPS system indicating they had reach their destination, Omega leader gives the hand signal to stop moving and check the area, by now it was the thick of night and all caution was advised, dead a head was a vehicle, unknown who it belonged to until one of the soldiers caught sight of a mobian moving towards it. Omega team moves in with a simple hand signal issued by Omega leader.

From out of the bushes and foliage the 4 soldiers emerged to meet the frog at the destination, the soldiers seemed a little confused as they looked at one another before Omega leader approached the Mobian itself.-

"Excuse me, we received a distress call coming from near by, along with co-ordinates to meet at a determined location...this was the message."

-The trooper played back the message they picked up back at base.-

"I Believe this is your message ? Commander Lysander has dispatched us to locate and neutralize the threat that is currently running rampant near by, are you also responding to the call ?"

-It was unclear if the Frog even knew what Replicant soldiers were but I guess he should tred lightly, there were 4 of them and they were heavily armed, but indicated they were here to help.-

In the apartment, waiting for Jack to return from the mission he stole from him, Pyro stared at the ceiling. He was now just listening in to the radio, not even to any channel in general. At the moment, it was just static.
Bonnie had finally helped him with the door, unlocking it for him, but he didn't move. He gave a kind, though tired, thanks, and just waited.

The room was dimly lit, night had hit outside, and now the room's only lighting was a single lightbulb attached to an old fan in the center of the ceiling, giving the room an old, dingy atmosphere bathing it in yellow light. It was nostalgic for him... It reminded him of when he and Julian were younger, sleeping in the same room, a light situated the exact same use to light the old bedroom of their house before it was finally auctioned off and everyone had to leave. Jack and Bonnie let Pyro move in to their apartment, Julian eventually got her own.

The radio static began to fizzle, before a voice came in. His attention peaked, he looked to the radio, listening in. Coordinates... hm.
He pulled out his phone, searched up the coordinates out of curiosity, and smirked. "Not too far away. Maybe they could use my help.", he said, before jumping out of bed, stretching, then moving to the window.
He looked out in the direction of the coordinates, looking at his phone again to remind himself where exactly to head. "Yep... not too far...", and after a bit, feeling the cool night breeze from the open window he was getting ready to jump out of, he finally left.

After a little while, he reached the point, landing on the roof of a nearby building. A group of 4 soldiers popped up surrounding a frog by a car. Hm... were these the people he was working with?
Might as well find out!

He jumped down, landing between one of the soldiers and the frog.
"Hello, name's Pyro - were you the one who sent the broadcast?", the young avian asked, crossing his wings as he looked at the frog.

(Ok, so C.S.O said he was going to join later, and Gear said he wouldn't be able to join, so we're going to continue with the RP as usual)

Before the frog could fully reach the vehicle, 4 Soldiers, fully dressed in identical combat gear emerged from one of the many nearby tropical bushes. Not something he'd expected to see.

"Bugger."

He raised his hands high in the air, unknowing of who the soldiers were, or their exact intentions. That was, at least until they spoke. They'd received the call about the situation down in the city, and had apparently made their way to the Co-ordinates he'd given out.

One of the soldiers, who he assumed was the leader of the group, played back the message he'd sent out, confirming his assumption.

"Yeah, that's my call... But I uh..."

He looked back to the transmitter, it gently beeping in the back of the Jeep. Ryan was sure he'd given out the coordinates for the city, which is where the attacks were occurring, but perhaps...

"Sorry about that fellas, I uh.."

Only to add to the frog's confusion, a phoenix dropped down from the roof of the abandoned Prison complex. Which at first glance appeared more like an asylum. The Phoenix was also responding to the call he'd sent out, having received the same coordinates as the Soldiers.

"Ah, shit."

He must have made a mistake, sending the coordinates of his own home, instead of the intended coordinates of the City. The complex was meant to remain a secret from the public, so as to maintain his own safety from particularly unfriendly clients, but he should be able to play it off as the intended location.

"Oh, Uh. I'm glad that you've made it here folks, I needed a closed of location for us to meet up, to keep away from the public eye. As you should know, it's vital that the civilians be made unaware of the situation."

He put his bare foot up onto the step bar of the jeep, preparing to get into the vehicle, his rifle in one hand and his other hand grabbing the roll cage.

"Well, as I assume you all know, there's some serious stuff going down nearby. I did indeed send the broadcast, but I sent it out on a military specific wavelength, normal radios aren't designed to pick up the transmission."

He swing his leg up into the Driver's seat of the jeep, dropping himself onto the seat by bracing himself against the roll-cage. There was enough room for 4 passengers, with one spare front seat, and 3 in the back, luckily enough though, there was always the open back of the tray, without a divider between the cabin and the tray.

"We need to get to the City, that's where the creature is. There's enough room inside the cabin for 4, one person will have to sit in the tray. No worries though, the cabin and tray are sort of the same thing."

He put his webbed hand onto the steering wheel, waiting for the arrivals to make their choice.

-So it seemed it was his called that brought there here, but here seemed to be the entirely wrong place, the town yonder was the destined location, regardless this figure must know intel and as it is widely know "Information is ammunition" In this situation while Omega leader was tasked with handling it, he preferred to take orders then rather command since that was not his choice in the matter.

Omega leader was about to spay something till suddenly out of the blue a Phoenix descend upon them, landing between Omega leader and the frog, in their natural response to a unknown and sudden appearance, the soldiers raised their weapons taking aim at the Phoenix until Omega leader gave them the hand signal to lower their weapons.

"Looks like we not the only one's who got the call."

-He said, his voice distorted by the filter systems hiding his face, tho upon hearing his voice it may of rung a bell inside the Phoenix head, if he was paying attention at all. The frog continued the situation report. Saying he wanted them to meet some were secret to avoid causing a panic with the local population but with this thing already running rampant its a sure bet the population already knew it was there.-

"If this hostile is already in position and causing damage I suspect the general population may very well be already alert to it If not well let's hope that is the case, we picked up your communications via military frequencies, for we are soldiers our self, just not the kind you see on a daily basis."

-Omega leader ordered the squad to mount up onto the vehicle, some took some of the seats the others latched onto the side's of the vehicle hanging off it with a firm grip.-

"We should make best speed possible, I have no idea if the commander should re call us, as there is a current hostage situation going down in a abandon district, we are on stand by but he says the situation is under control...let's get this thing moving!"

Pyro had picked up on the voices of the soldiers - but given there were more of them, he wasn't sure what to think. He just gave them a wayward stare for a second, before looking away with wide eyes, and then looking back to the tree frog. 'OK, clearly, these people have connections to Shrike.', this was only confirmed when they brought mention to a hostage situation in an abandoned area. Birdboi just rolled his eyes, thinking about Jack, and wondering if Shrike was okay.

He didn't really pick up on the fact that the frog wasn't too comfortable at first, though this was probably because of their rather charismatic demeanor in cleaning up their mistake secretly rather than just because he wasn't smart enough to pick up on it. "[color:e2be=990000]Alright then, dude, let's get this show on the road!", he exclaimed. Everyone else had gotten in the car, some hung off the sides, so Pyro got ontop of the jeep and hung low, hanging on to whatever he could with his feathers.

Hunt for Agent 0 Empty Re: Hunt for Agent 0

Post by Wolf478 Sun Feb 17, 2019 6:26 am

There was something a little bit off-putting about the soldiers, Ryan had no idea why, or what exactly it was. Perhaps their coordination and cooperation with one another? From the few times he'd been in a battlefield, soldiers were certainly coordinated, but they would usually at least talk to one another quite often. But then again, those ones had all died, something the Frog didn't want to recall.

It was unfortunate that they'd had to meet at this location, as opposed to the intended meeting place, but that was his fault. Hopefully by the end of the ordeal they'd have forgotten this place even existed... Hopefully.

"Uh, yeah. From what I've heard, there have indeed already been casualties, however, all I know is that the observed attacks haven't exactly resulted in what I'd call an evenin' with the boys"

Two of the soldiers hopped inside the Jeep, while two of them took to holding onto the outer chassis of the truck, not very stealthy, but in order to get them to the city, it would do.

"All I've been told is that the top priority is to make sure that people who don't already know about, don't end up knowing about it. And That's my job."

The Soldiers mentioned a hostage situation, something that Ryan was very familiar with, and if things went according to plan, the two events would hopefully not be linked to one another.

The Phoenix had decided to mount the Truck, grabbing the row of floodlights atop the roof. God, stealth was not the groups forte. But regardless, they all seemed to be decent enough to get the job done, some of them were actually soldiers, and the Phoenix had a military grade receiver, so that should at least indicate something.

Everyone present, Ryan included, was keen to get moving to the city, and with the situation present, it's not a surprise.

His bare, webbed foot floored the gas pedal, causing the Jeep to accelerate rapidly, roaring to life. The Tropical plant life whizzed past them, palm fronds and ferns whipping past the soldiers on the sides, and almost brushing against the phoenix above.

The black truck was making violent haste through the forest, and with the rough terrain underneath, the ride was certainly not pleasant, to say the least, but would instead be painful. Currently they were in the middle of nowhere, the only thing nearby being the City in the distance, and luckily for the six of them, stealth wasn't necessary until they reached the city limits.

"You doing alright up there Birdboy?"

He shouted, watching a particularly large branch approach the truck, some of the leaves and smaller branches smacking against the floodlights, but not hindering their journey.

* * *

A good few kilometres of rough terrain and rugged wildlife had passed by until the moment when it all stopped, it was like they'd driven through a solid wall of air, the Forest ended and it was straight onto a bridge, crossing a large river and over into the City.

Almost immediately Ryan dropped his foot off of the accelerator, allowing the truck to continue on it's own momentum until it reached the legal speed limit. The distant sound of an Adabat-bound Aeroplane rumbled overhead, the Airport not too far from the city, but far enough to allow decent airspace above.

The dull concrete bridge arched up and over the river, allowing the smaller cargo ships to easily make their way underneath, but larger tankers would be forced to take a different route to deliver to the City.

After managing to creep over the top of the arch using simply its momentum from the Jungle portion of the trip, the Jeep then began accelerating once more as it began to roll down the other side.

"Alright everyone, we've made it to the city, just try to lie low. As I said before, civilian Ignorance would be golden."

Once the truck had reached the end of the bridge, Ryan put his foot back on the gas, allowing it to travel through the city, abiding by the speed limits of course, but certainly in a hurry.

It seemed that wherever the creature was, it was a rather run-down neighbourhood, because from the Location that the frog had been given, every street was filled with dirt-covered brick houses, and ply-wooded windows. Even when Ryan did brake, pulling up in front of one particularly shabby block of flats, the building appeared like it was going to give way in a month or two, simply from the air moving around it.

"Ok, sorry about the bumpy ass ride back there. We're finally here, just keep quiet like a fucking cemetery and follow me. Keep your heads down."

The Frog's webbed feet made no sound against the blackened pavement, as he gently pried the exterior door to the stairwell open.

-The soldiers remained ominously silent yet all seemed to be intrigued about the world around them, as if they never really seen it before, as the vehicle continued to their destination one of the soldiers tapped the other who was sitting beside him, pointing to a wild life creature off in the distance. It was quite strange almost child like, not typical behavior you would assume from some one such as them.

Yet they all identically showed the same signs of intrigue, Perhaps they were just not use to leaving the confines of a base or facility, non one knew why but at least they were not hostile.

As the group would close in on their destination what lay before them a bridge, beyond it the city, their final location of where the possible threat would be, the vehicle draws to a slower crawl, easing itself across the bridge.

The sudden sound of a plain caught the attention of all the soldiers as they watched it race over in the sky above, this was more familiar territory now, city, a urban environment, the Frog made it pretty clear this was more or less the last stop, adding to it that keeping a low presence would be far better then simply going in force into the area.

Their final destination was a extremely run down and deprecated looking part of the town, it appeared abandon and it complete disrepair, perhaps the perfect hiding location of their intended target, honestly it looked almost like this section of the city had seen a conflict and it was the aftermath.

Suddenly the vehicle stopped, with out the engine running the silence was....deafing, Omega leader gave the hand signal to disembark from the vehicle as all 4 soldiers exited it, all 4 quickly checked each others gears and weapons before it they were confirmed ready to move.-

"Alright sir we are good to go, gear checks out, you lead we follow, this area looks incredibly abandon, probably little to any civilian activity but we will keep a low profile as best we can."

-The squad falls in behind Ryan, they moved carefully with weapons at eye level, 2 were covering left, 2 were covering right and one was watching the rear, perfect formation for making sure no one could sneak up on them with out being spotted.

The frog had lead them to their first location the abandon and fragile looking block of flats, he slowly opened the front door and before them flights of stairs and who the hell knows what else.-

"Sir ? Would you like us to take point going up?"

The air moved smoothly through his white head-feathers, spiked up and now blowing in the wind as they drove off. Hanging tightly to the car, he kept low with a determined expression, only looking away to keep his eyes from getting smacked.
He didn't notice the soldiers' look of wonder as he was too focused looking ahead, his gold beak seeming to curl into a smirk as the large tree branch was getting in range.
And just like that, he carefully stood up, stepped back on the jeep, then jumped over the branch back onto the jeep, fist pumping before regaining composure and grabbing the front of the jeep again, "I'm alright, that was awesome dude!"

After a bit, they saw a plane, drove over a bridge, and were now in the city.
Pyro looked around, about to whisper a "Holy shit..." before getting interrupted by the frog. Afterwards, Pyro was deathly quiet...
He followed after the group carefully, looking around at all the buildings as they entered one and reached the stairs. He looked up them, and whispered, "...if shit goes down here, the entire building is going down. I just know it."

Hunt for Agent 0 Empty Re: Hunt for Agent 0

( OOC: Greetings all. Hopping in here. )

When you've dealt with trouble a lot in your lifetime, it becomes easier to take note of when it's going on around you. Even if people are trying to make it less noticable and keep it quiet, you can still spot it if you're attentive enough.

Within this city, there was definitely trouble happening.

There was no panic. There were no obvious disturbances. There wasn't much of an increase in activity. There was nothing to really draw one's attention.

Regardless... something still felt off.

He didn't know what it was, but he felt it was something worth looking into while he was there.

With that in mind, the wolf found himself walking along the road in a poor looking part of the city. The buildings looked as though they were in bad condition, most likely even abandoned. One couldn't be entirely sure about that though. Shelter was shelter to some poeple, himself included, even if it looked as though it might fall apart. It didn't really help that it was night out too.

That was part of what made this area strange though.

Considering it's condition and the time of day, you'd think sure a place would be deserted. But there was some activity here. The wolf had seen a pair of people making their way down the street like he currently was. They'd even run into another pair seemingly doing the same thing and stopped to chat briefly. He got the feeling that they were checking out the area and trying to not draw attention while doing so.

So, the wolf had decided to do the same.

He'd kept quiet and did his best to stay out of sight, just in case anyone else was around. As far as he knew, his presence had gone unnoticed. But since there also didn't seem to be anyone or anything around, it wasn't too difficult to avoid attention.

After wandering around for an hour or so, the wolf considered heading off, or maybe just picking out a spot to use as a vantage point to observe things, when he heard a vehicle of some sort approaching from the distance.

Finding a place to hide didn't prove much of a challenge. He was wearing a black shirt and pants for this outing. There wasn't much he could do about hiding the silver fur on the exposed parts of his body other than stay out of sight and try not to be noticed, which is what he tried to do. Standing with his back against the wall along the side of one run down house, he was near one front corner of the building, allowing him to watch the road on which the vehicle approached.

The vehicle drove past moments later and it was quite an eyecatcher. A couple of people hung off the sides of it while another rode on the roof of it. There appeared to be a couple more people inside, but the brief glimpse didn't let him make an exact count. He guessed there were about four or five people. He shifts from his hiding place slowly and carefully, keeping an eye on the vehicle.

It comes to a stop a bit further on down the road and the occupants disembark. From what the wolf could see, there were six people, but the details were hard to discern.

Curious, but still cautious, the wolf makes a stealthy approach as the group make their way into one of the buildings.

Hunt for Agent 0 Empty Re: Hunt for Agent 0

Post by Wolf478 Fri Feb 22, 2019 3:51 am

(Ah, good to have you!)

He Hardly noticed the wonder and awe displayed by the Soldiers, the frog was far too focused on making sure the jeep didn't flip over on the rough forest road, and by the time the road had smoothed out, they had sort of returned to their relatively quiet state again. The Pheonix however, was hard not to notice, he shouted in enjoyment as the branch had swung by, apparently jumping over it and then grabbing back onto the jeep with a thud.

Now standing at the mouth of the dilapidated building, the door open and the stairway ascending before them, he looked up at the various ancient gum-stained bricks, the black, sticky, tar-like globs stuck to the crumbling outer surface, and to the concrete floor.

The Soldiers offered to take point, while Pyro seemed fine with taking the behind, He shook his head to the soldiers, lowering his voice.

"Nah, should be good."

He then turned back to address not only the four of them, but also the Phoenix.

"Ok, so from what I've been told, this is one of the places the creature has struck, While I doubt it's here anymore, we should still be as quiet as... well, pretty damn quiet. We're just here to see what we're dealing with. For now."

The frog then began to ascend the concrete stairs, his webbed feet slapping quietly on the cold surface underneath.

A few flights of stairs led the group to a rather dilapidated wooden door, ridden with splinters and with a metal grate over a small window placed in the centre of it. Large patches of old paint were peeling off of the almost slum-like door.

He stood by the door, not bothering to face it, but instead facing the next flight of stairs, he had no intention of entering the room, their destination was somewhere else, but it would be wise to make sure the surrounding area was safe. His hand reached for the doorknob, twisting it slightly, and then causing the ancient door to open to a rather dark, yet relatively well kept apartment.

"Nothing here."

Making his way up the next few flight of stairs brought the group to the second door. It's appearance was similar in appearance to the first one, but with slightly less peeling paint.

The frog opened the door, this time it was a struggle to open, the wooden door likely having expanded due to long forgotten water damage, stains around the area making it quite clear that there had been a leak at some point.

The apartment was messy, but nothing damaged.

"Clear."

He checked to make sure that the others in the group had kept up with him, before heading up the third set of stairs and to the third door on the pathway upwards.

This door was quite different to the previous two, with it's outer appearance seemed to be in at least a better condition, missing patches of paint were only present in the corners and it wasn't splintering at all, but the grate over the window was beginning to rust.

Once again, his webbed hand twisted the doorknob, but this time the inside of the apartment was extremely different to the last, Tables were overturned, cabinets were opened and the contents strewn all over the floor, a small sofa had been cut open and the stuffing spread everywhere.

There were shards of glass covering the floor in some parts of it, especially in the kitchen area, at least from what could be seen at the door.

"We're getting close."

The frog took a step inside, beckoning for the group to come in behind him. He walked into the apartment, making sure that he avoided the various items cantankerously spread across the floor.

"Come in, but try not to touch anything."

-Omega leader nodded to the frog, instead he would fall back to regroup with the other 3 troopers and remain vigilant as they proceeded to enter the abandon building.

From the inside it was a real derelict of a place, aged and old, falling apart and nothing but reminders if a better day seen here, the troopers kept watch as they seemed to go in deeper, it was not dark enough for flash lights but they had them just in case.

The first room they came into seemed to hold nothing of value, deemed clear by the frog the force would move yet again. As the group went further up it appeared the more worn and broken the building seemed to become, mostly odd but nothing really to write home about.

"This place gives me the creeps."

"No kidding Omega 2."

"Keep your eyes open soldiers we have no idea what may be lurking around here."

-It was pretty clear something was not right with these guys unless they had matching voice filters their voices were identical to each other, but I guess that was the least of their worries currently.

They arrived once more at another room, the first to enter was the frog followed by the squad, what they saw was at odds with the rest of the rooms they had already checked out, this apartment had been trashed, the entire place wrecked, some one or thing was no doubt here.-

"Squad check the the area."

-The team enters the room and begins to sweep the apartment for any thing of use or tracks leading to something else, during this time Omega leader turns to the Frog.-

"You said we getting closer..any idea of what this place was or what happened here ?"

Moving up the building would be a test of courage to any lesser Mobian - to Pyro, it was a test of patience .
Quiet, he has to stay quiet.
And here he was, more afraid that he'd burn down the building if he actually saw something of interest rather than worried someone would hear him. In the end, he followed begrudgingly, waiting for something to happen.

First door, nothing.

Second door, was a bit jammed, but nothing
Whether his sigh was of relief or exasperation, as he almost turned to take the lead up to the third door before the frog began heading up again, was a mystery.

They came to the third door, and was surprised to see the relatively nice looking door number 3 had their prize - a trashed room.
Great.

The group walked forward into the room, all the clone troopers scouring the room for stuff of interest immediately after froggy told them not to touch anything.
Not that Pyro was much better, carefully walking over to the drawer to inspect it and the items that had been flung out of it nearby. After a bit, he walked to a window that was likely in the room, and turned to the frog, then to the soldier, "Isn't it obvious? It got thrashed, torn to shreds. Who or whatever was here went fuckin' ballistic."

The wolf did his best to stay out of sight as he made his way past the few buildings that separated him from the one the group on the vehicle had entered. He couldn't see anyone from his vantage point, but there was no reason to wander out in the open where he'd be easily spotted should someone exit the building unexpectedly.

It took a few minutes for him to reach the entrance of the building that the half dozen strangers had gone in, but he'd managed to do so in almost absolute silence. He moved over to the doorway and listened intently. There were no obvious sounds from the other side of the door. Confident that there was no one right on the other side of the door, the wolf carefully pulls it open a little.

Through the gap, he doesn't see anyone there or up the first set of steps leading upward. He can faintly hear voices coming from that direction though, but he can't make out any words. He knew he'd need to get closer to do that... but he also wasn't keen on having to possibly confront six potential hostiles, in an enclosed space, while they also had a positioning advantage of being at a greater height.

For the moment, he dismisses the idea of proceeding inside. Instead, he closes the door as quietly as possible, then turns his attention towards the vehicle the group had arrived in.

He moves over to the frog's jeep so that he may look in through the windows and over the exterior of the jeep as well to see if he could find anything of interest there.

An open window on the far war let a slight breeze waft in from the dilapidated suburb outside, a mixture of Car exhaust, long dried grease and cigarette smoke. The wind caused the relatively well-kept curtains to sway, nearly brushing against Pyro.

The rest of the group did indeed follow him into the apartment, with the Soldiers leading the way, and then the Phoenix following after.

The frog's padded thumb flicked the safety on and off of the rifle in his hands, him watching carefully as the Soldiers flitted about the apartment, observing the carnage. He too decided to walk through, careful to avoid any of the broken glass. His bare feet weren't very practical when it came to these kinds of operations, but he usually didn't have to deal with urban casualties.

"Yeah, we're getting close. This place? This place was searched by police."

He pointed to the curtains, still hung on the window and in better condition than anything else in the apartment.

"If this was the creature, nothing would've been spared. The police had no reason to damage the curtains. That's why the cuts in the couch are precise, instead of being simply savage tears in the fabric."

And indeed, the only cuts present on the couch were almost surgical in nature, but the stuffing had certainly been removed in a hurry, the cops would likely have been in a rush to get to the next item of business.

"We're too late, the police have already been here, but I wanted to see what exactly we should be expecting when we actually find the beast. From what I was told, it isn't going to be pretty. I wanted to make sure that you all are ready for whatever we see upstairs."

Everything else in the room was indeed trashed, it seemed that the plates were thrown cantankerously from the cupboards, and some of the shelves had been completely torn out, but in terms of efficiency, the room had certainly been scoured clean.

He turned to the door, giving everyone a nod. And then began to walk back up the flight of stairs, his webbed feet letting out a loud slap as he made his way up the stairs.

Once the frog reached the fourth landing, he caught sight of the last door.

"Fuck"

He snuck back down the stairs quickly, motioning for the group to follow him up, and then making his own way back to the fourth door.

Three Large Canyon-like gouges ran from the top left corner to the bottom right corner of the door, the metal bars covering the small window had also been torn by the trails of devastation that lay sprawled out across the door.

Several smaller scratches were littered about the bottom of the damaged wooden exterior. These scratches were strange though, as it appeared as though something inside the apartment had attempted to get out, grabbing onto the door in an attempt to gain leverage, yet the actual gap from the bottom of the door to the floor was minuscule.

The frog had no idea of the events transpiring four stories below him, down on the street, and nor did he have any idea that the Wolf had followed them, or at least to the car.

The inside of the car seemed to be relatively bare, with the exception of a few empty bullet casings, from various small arms, as well as a few heavier firearms. But the one thing that stood out, was that the keys were still in the ignition, leaving the vehicle in a very vulnerable position should the Wolf be so tempted.

-So the mystery seem to thicken, if the police were here already the situation could become far more complex then originally thought, regardless the troopers continued to make a sweep of the room finding nothing of real value at all.

"If the local law enforcement is going to get in the way I have a feeling the situation will become far more complicated should we run into them."

-Omega leader expressed concerned over this as if they could come into contact the police would vastly out number them and attempt to draw them off from the area. Seems like the whole intention was them for all to be aware of the situation they were facing, course nothing can really prepare ones self until finally coming face to face with it, but the soldiers were confident in their gear and weapons to get the job done.

As the frog departed the room heading for the next floor the soldiers naturally followed in line, still extremely vigilant of their surroundings, after all they were in uncharted territory, letting your guard down could be the last thing you would do.

Not to mention the eery quite of the place didn't sit well either, couple of creaks and cracks as the troopers walked along, their thick black boots making the iconic thud sounds, other from that the silence was deafening.

The frog made a quick stop before motioning to the rest to follow quick, upon reaching the fourth floor there they could see 3 massive gashes in the door along with other bits of destructive nature around them, what ever did this was no mere being that was a given.

In response to these sightings the Replicants quickly raised their rifles to the door taking aim slowly approaching it, should something come lashing out they would be ready to fill it with lead. Suddenly in the distance was a noise a steady thud thud thud thud, coming ever so closer towards them, the troopers looked at each other.

Then suddenly it raced right overhead, a helicopter heading over the building, across the district and off into the horizon heading for another location, they were able to catch a sight of it through the window near by.-

"That is a Replicant Gunship....I wonder where its heading off to...."

Hearing that it was police and not the target was quite disappointing for Pyro, though it did raise expectations for what they were likely to see later. With nothing of interest on this floor, everyone left.
The thought of police being involved was quite... alarming, as Pyro was an illegal bounty hunter, and usually took all measures to avoid law enforcement.

As before, when the frog came down the stairs wanting everyone to follow him back up, Pyro followed behind.
The soldiers immediately gripped their rifles, and Pyro got into a fighting position in response as he felt his body temperature rise - then he saw the door. "Holy shit... This has to be the target, right?", whispered the avian as he slowly lowered his balled up wings.

The group heard the helicopter, and the soldiers recognized it as a "Replicant Gunship"
Where had he heard that before...? What did "replicants" have to do with this?

The young avian, still on guard, cautiously walked toward the door to inspect the damages, "Can it be opened...?"

The wolf looks over the jeep for a little while, walking a circuit around it as he looks it over. He could see some weapons inside and even the keys for the vehicle itself. They weren't of any interest to him at the moment though. He didn't make a habit of taking things that weren't his without good reason.

These people were strangers. No sense in angering them needlessly.

He glances back towards the doorway of the building. No one had emerged while he examined the jeep, and he couldn't hear anyone there either. But that didn't mean all was quiet.

He could hear something approaching from somewhere above.

Moving quickly, the wolf heads back over to the building and presses back against one of the walls to get out of sight while he glances skyward. He sees an aircraft of some sort fly over as it made its way to some other destination. The wolf waits until the sounds it made had faded into the distance before he moves away from the building again.

The wolf takes a little time to looking around, checking to see if there was anyone there, before turning his attention back to the building. He glances up towards the roof of it, wondering what the people there were doing inside. Sneaking inside to find out what was going on didn't seem like a good move on his part, not with so many of them there especially. Announcing his presence and just approaching them openly also seemed risky at the moment.

He thought it might be best to wait for them to exit the building before approaching them at all.

So, for the moment, the wolf decides that it might be good to examine the outside of the building and its immediate surroundings. That group was likely looking for something inside. Maybe there would be something the wolf could find outside that would give him an idea of what was going on.

With that in mind, he starts walking, intending to circle the building and see if there was anything that seemed out of place.

Indeed, the situation was definitely complicated, the police were the ones officially investigating the situation, but the frog's investigation was not technically official. The Police would have all power to prevent the group from entering the scene, but they were already too busy trying to deal with the current situation themselves.

But considering what lay before them, it didn't really matter who they were, whatever this creature was, it wasn't going to differentiate between government law enforcement and payed law enforcement.

"I think the Cops are the least of our problems right now. I'm pretty sure the apartment's empty, but It's not going to be pretty. And yes, this is why we're here."

Slowly, a deep, throaty rumbling began to fill the stairwell, causing the frog to duck momentarily, but he stood up quickly when the Soldiers mentioned it was not involved with them, and instead the chopper was focused elsewhere.

He watched cautiously as the Phoenix approached the door, and then asking whether it was still able to be opened.

"Yes, I'd imagine it still works. Not too sure though with its current state."

The frog also crept over to the door, running his webbed fingers across the long gashes that ran deep through its surface. The claw marks were deep enough to take his fingers to the second knuckle, but not deep enough to make it through the door. He went to step away from the door, getting ready to try twisting the handle, but caused his foot to collide with it instead.

"Ah, shit"

He winced in pain, but recovered relatively quickly. The initial impact with the door let out a soft bang, but did also release a small shower of splinters and wood-chip to drop from the large scratches.

Moving on from his mistake, he reached for the door handle, twisting it slightly and causing the knob to emit a sharp squeak. Obviously the door had taken a lot of stress, and the locking mechanism was not properly aligned.

At first the door seemed to be stuck, but a forced pull eventually ripped the door open.

First impressions were certainly something to remember.

There were large red streaks leading from the bottom of the doorway and further into the dark room, a large wooden table lay upside down next to the same doorway, chairs with several shattered and stained legs lay strewn across the entry, almost as if the entire array had been thrown towards the door in a desperate attempt. An attempt at what was not entirely clear, but if the thick coppery liquid was anything to go by, then it wasn't a friendly dispute.

Going further into the apartment, cupboards and shelves lay overturned in the centre of the main room, visible through a short hallway past the front door.  The Dark streaks of liquid grew thicker towards the cabinets, but another path also led off to the left, beyond the sight from the doorway.

The smell was thick with the unpleasant liquid, but there was also something else, something slightly fresher.

"Fucking Christ."

Large wads of the stained carpet were torn up, and the cheap concrete floor underneath exposed. Not only the floor was in bad shape, the walls had large gouges taken out of them also, the kind that made the door seem like a plaything.

There was a large pile of what appeared to be black ribbon strewn about the floor, bunching up in some places, stretching off beyond the field of vision.

* * *

The outside of the building itself didn't seem to be too remarkable, besides its obvious dilapidated appearance, to the point of near collapse. But as the wolf began to circle the block of apartments, it became clear that the inside wasn't the only place holding secrets. Taking a dingy alleyway between the building and a neighbouring one would lead to a section that had been cordoned off.

The Yellow police tape strung between the small pylons surrounded an abandoned car, how the vehicle managed to end up within the small space was beyond reason, but it's outer surface rivalled that of the situation upstairs.

Large chunks of the painted metallic surface had been torn up, the steel sprung like a opened can.

-Law enforcement, agents and who knows what else, against this small team could be a disaster, while the Replicants could hold their own they couldn't against sheer numbers, if it ever came to that issue. One of the troopers close enough to the window peered down for a a second only to see a tail vanish around the left side of the building.-

"Omega leader I think I just some one out side heading around the left side of the building."

"Are you sure about that ?"

"Affirmative on that sir."

"sir you hear that...I think we may have attracted company, unknown figure was spotted out side, no idea who or what it is..I feel like we are attracting attention."

-With the door now force open and entry into the new room, the place was wrecked but, the propped up items against the door clearly indicated who ever was here, they were trying to keep something from getting in, probably the thing they were looking for.-

Omega leader noticed the strange unknown origin liquid, kneeling down for a brief moment to inspect it upon he's glove, no idea what it could be he turns back to the frog.-

"Any idea what the hell this stuff is ? doesn't look natural at all."

-There was a second trail leading off down another path, Omega leader dispatches two troopers to investigate that area.-

"Omega 2 and 3 check that trail and see where it gomes, the rest of you remain here with me until we move out again."

"Roger that sir."

-2 and 3 split off and head down the next trail, weapons aimed and ready as the duo begin to track the trail, searching for possible signs.-

"Check in at 10 minute intervals you two."

"Copy that will do."

Pyro was about to open it up himself, when Rhino stepped forward and decided to do the honors.
But not before slamming his webbed foot into the door by accident, which caused Pyro to try not to laugh, even covering his beak. He was about to ask if he was okay, when one of the three clone soldiers, which he now realized were probably called "replicant" themselves, spoke up about a figure outside the building.

"I... highly doubt that? It's been a while since we got here, so surely whoever you saw out the window there couldn't be here cause of us - I'd like to think we're doing a good job being quiet, after all.", he said, not realizing the irony of talking about how quiet they are, though he was whispering.

Rhino finally opened the door, and Pyro just... stared, blankly at first, though he began scratching his head as he rose an eyebrow, "Well, this was certainly an eventful evening for whoever was involved.
He watched as two of the replicants moved forward, all while he crouched down to look at the odd liquid closer.
It looked like blood, but clearly something was slightly off about it. You'd think a soldier would know what blood looked like, but clearly even if there were no visual indicators, it did smell a little odd...

The wolf makes his way out behind the building, glancing around and taking in everything that he could in of his surroundings. Eventually, he reaches the gap between the building he had started walking around and the next building over. As he looks down the alleyway, his gaze falls upon a length of yellow tape ahead of him that stretched across an opening in the alley, into which he could not see. Glancing back behind himself and into the distance, the wolf still doesn't see anything of note, so he decides to make his way over to the marked off area. He slowly enters the alley between the two buildings, listening intently and remaining on alert as he proceeds forward.

Staying on the opposite side of the alley from the marked off opening, the wolf takes his time advancing and trying to look into the area beyond the tape. Once he was close enough, he could make out dark shapes beyond the tape, but he wasn't sure what they were from where he was. He stands quietly, just staring past the tape at what is sitting there for almost half a minute. As there was no apparent activity there, he slowly moves closer.

He approaches the tape and ducks beneath it, doing his best to not disturb it in any way. He continues to walk ahead, regarding the object in front of him as he draws closer.

Finally, he begins to recognize some of the details of the object sitting there. His eyes widen as he realizes it was some other ground vehicle... what kind specifically, he had no idea, because whatever it had been, it was now just a mess of metal. It seemed it had been put into a place too small for it and been torn up pretty badly.

Looking back towards the opening the tape stretched across, the wolf wonders how it got in here and whether it had been ripped up before or after.

Turning back to what was left of the car, he approached slowly, on guard. Much like with the jeep, he intended to get closer to the car so that he could take a look at what was in and around it if possible.

At first, the frog was hesitant to step into the apartment, but when the rest of the group decided to go in for a better look, he followed behind, a bit reluctant to enter through what remained of the doorway.

The Thick red liquid had an almost oily sheen to it, with the light refracting of it in a faint rainbow swirl. It certainly wasn't any normal blood, and the frog eyed the thick trail of it cautiously as he walked past, following the two soldiers who had decided to go further into the apartment.

Entering the living room, the stench grew stronger and had the distinct hint of decay about it.

"Bloody lovely evening in here isn't it?"

He said in reply to the Phoenix, who had also become fascinated by the rather foul smelling, oily blood. Two of the soldiers had chosen to stay near the door with the Phoenix, and while they still made him feel on edge, at least they clearly knew a thing or two about how to fire a gun. And given the current situation, that was enough for him.

He stepped over the Black ribbon-like substance, which on closer inspection appeared to be covered in very fine hairs, some sort of fur at best, but instead he was more focused on what lay around the corner.

Of to the left, a door was left open, just a crack. But what could be seen through the small opening was enough to both shock and horrify the frog. He stepped towards it, putting a hand on it's scratched outer surface and creaking it all the way open.

It was a small bathroom, with nothing but a single bath, a toilet and a sink, the tiled walls were caked in dried blood, but not the kind that was outside, this was different. This was normal blood. Several hand-prints stood out along the walls, vague shapes of entire mobians could be made out amongst the absolute horror that was the mosaic wall.

Some of it was still fresh, the bathtub, sink and the outer surface of the toilet bowl all had pools of the liquid around them. Whatever had happened here, the frog was certainly glad that the police had come here first.

He turned around, leaving the door open so as to make sure that the building wasn't confined in the case of an emergency.

The frog walked slowly over to the window, the Curtains torn off their hooks in some places and completely ripped to shreds in others. He took a few deep breaths, allowing himself to process what he'd seen in the bathroom.

"Fucken hell. I know I said that I brought you all here so that we could see what we're dealing with here, but lord almighty, this isn't what I thought it'd be. I'm not used to this kind of shit."

He looked out of the window, peering down to the ground floor. And what the Soldiers had said before was true, there was indeed someone outside. While he doubted that there'd be any beef, the figure's movements were to inquisitive for that, his grip on his rifle shifted anyway.

"We do have company, but for now it doesn't appear to be a threat."

* * *

The insides of the vehicle were almost completely bare, the seats had been cut open, in a manner far too different to the outside of the vehicle to actually have been made by the same device. The seats seemed as though they had been sliced open afterwards, the stuffing within them had begun to spill out over the rest of the ragged interior.

One of the car doors was missing, and another was torn completely in half, with the other half of it lying next to the car with a small numbered cone sitting next to it.

The engine was completely missing from underneath the peeled back hood, and several other devices within the motor well were missing also, with torn pipes and ruptured tanks taking up most of the space.

2 of the 3 present wheels had large wads of rubber torn away from their tires, several lumps of which were also present besides the half-door, along with respective numbered cones.

Thick liquid stains were strewn about the floor and across the shattered windows of the vehicle.

Whatever had happened, had certainly been one hell of an event.

-Omega's 2 and 3 follow the trail, their built in NVG gave me a great sense of visibility in poor light conditions, one took up the left side the other took right side, equal cover from both flanks should a target present it self, they scanned every thing they possibly could in sign of any hostile...they were not taking any chances. it was obvious the blood was not or normal origin given its look and color to it.

Omega 2 and 3 finally checked in after 10 minutes to give a situation report.-

"Omega 2 here, checking in, still tracking the trail, this blood is unknown origin, definitely not normal, I think we closing in on the source of something close by."

"Copy that Omega 2 if you run into any hostiles engage on sight and neutralize..once you finished up there return here ASAP."

'Roger that will do."

-It seemed like the more these guys spoke there voices all seem to have hint's and traces of a familiar once, for a certain some one else who also had a helmet upon he's head, tho the filters where to mask the identity for said users it was never fully capable of drowning it out, perhaps it was only a matter of time before two and two were put together.

Omega 1 and Omega leader remained behind at the entrance securing their position and keeping eyes out for the new comer, should it be hostile there were on orders to engage on site.

"Omega 2 here...getting some kind of static interference with commutations, omega 3 experiencing the same thing.....wait..now its gone...never mind we continuing our sweep."

-Omega 1 kept watch at the window, wondering the unknown assailant would return and to make sure no one jacked their ride as well, mean while Omega leader headed over to the frog.-

"I highly doubt there is any thing here sir...seems we missed what ever it was...I believe we should move on..we need to find this..thing and neutralize asap."

Pyro continued crouching, inspecting the blood-like liquid, when Rhino passed by and left his comment. He couldn't help but chuckle as he rose back to a standing up position, and looked around the room at the others and to see if he himself could really get anything of note.
Not really.

He then saw Rhino enter the bathroom, and quickly as dread washed over them, they has backed out.
Pyro for some reason wasn't shocked. He did have a morbid curiosity, he had never seen it before, right?
Only in dreams had he ever saw something so awful. His nightmares - yet, knowing what he knows now, he tries to distance himself from them. Those aren't him. They share his looks and appearances, but they were monsters...
Still, snapping himself out of his daze, he stepped forward, putting a wing on Rhino's shoulder as one of the omega team stepped forward and told the mission's technical leader what they thought to do.
"Alright - so what do we do then? Any hints as to where it'd be now? We going somewhere else to look for more stuff?"
