"YOU MIGHT KNOW EVERYTHING I'M GOING TO DO, BUT THAT'S NOT GOING TO HELP YOU SINCE I KNOW EVERYTHING YOU'RE GOING TO DO! STRRRRRANGE, ISN'T IT?! GRRRRRGHHHHH!!!!"

I'm not going to lie. That's one of the most ridiculous and outright cringey lines I've ever heard. But it's SO AWESOME AT THE SAME TIME. LIKE HHNNNNNGHHH.

Honestly, this is one of my favourite movies of all time. The first time I watched it was when I was about... 8? 9? And I've got to say, it made me on edge. Metal Sonic in full glory in that film. It was awesome.

The music was amazing too. Who cares if Look Alike is incomprehensible to the human mind? It sounds awesome!

Don't forget the South Island theme...

To this day, this film holds a special place in my heart. It's got so many awesome moments. And it shows a good idea of what Sonic should really be in my eyes. Just an awesome hero that kicks ass all day long. With his two friends to stand by his side.

The Metal Robotnik fight remains one of my favourite bosses as well. In Sonic Robo Blast 2 they use the fight as a baseline as well. The design was just... awesome.

Of course, there are many moments in the movie that are like... wut. But...

At the end of the day, this remains a massive gem deep down in my memories. Does anyone else like the Sonic OVA movie? Anyone got some favourite moments about it?

I am forever awful because I have never actually seen this movie, even though I've heard the soundtrack over and over and seen clips of it. PLUS, IT HAS MY METAL BABY AND ME NOT WATCHING THIS IS N ACT OF BLASPHEMY.
And yeah you're right the lyrics make no sense. I will not ride my bike, dammit. I am indoors. That is a silly thing to request of me.

SO
THANKYOU FOR REMINDING ME THAT THIS IS ON MY TO-WATCH LIST

I have STILL not seen that movie, and that 'STRANGE ISN'T IT?' line STILL bothers me because I expected it to be an awesome line delivered by Metal Sonic, and then it turned out Metal Sonic was mute and Sonic spoke it like he didn't know how to use a tongue properly to form words! ARGH!

It was a strange, but enjoyable movie. Smile

British Sonic. Tails suffering from a cold through the whole movie. A whole slew of unusual side characters. But it's still a fun ride. I'm sure that you can find a full hour long video online if you look for it.

Seeing Hyper Metal Sonic in action is a treat. The fight between Sonic and Metal is worthwhile. I'm pretty sure it's the first and only time Sonic has been outclassed by anything Robotnik has thrown at him.

If you haven't watched it literally google it. It's on Youtube and everything, pretty popular in views! It's worth it, for definite, and honestly I'd love to see your opinions when you actually DO watch it rather than say "Nope not watched it".

...COME ON GUYS PLEAAASE IT'S ONLY 50 MINUTES. XD

Okay so took the time to watch it and first off, omg what is wrong with the voice acting, it's baaaaaaaaad omg.
I do adore the backgrounds though and how fluid the fighting animation is, even if clearly dated by it's time.
I also noticed a disturbing lack of background music in general, it's so...quiet and makes it feel a bit more...awkward.
Also who is Sarah and why does she have a cattail?
The plot is nothing too note worthy honestly XD
If any; I think there was too little Metal Sanic in this. Would've liked to see more of him. Though the Metal Robotnic was pretty cool as well.

Not gonna lie that overall I felt like I was missing a lot of context to the story. Annnnnnd it shows it's age. Other wise it was a fun lil thing to watch.

FOR THOSE THAT WANT TO WATCH IT;

The voice acting is okay to me. Then again I watched this years ago for the first time. Sonic's voice always did throw me off a bit but I got used to it, I mean it's nothing super horrific.

Story is... simple. Sonic tricked. Metal Sonic attacks. Save the world. It's geneeeeric, but the way it's presented in that movie is more than just a little badass.

...I love how satisfying Metal Sonic's speed is though. When he first rockets off, it blows EVERYONE away, it's awesome. xD

Also the film's intro is hype as hell.

...In fact so much about it is just... really hype to me. I don't know why. The music, when it IS there, is really sweet also.

Sarah is likely some fan character and since putting Sonic with human is weird...

... they figured an anime catgirl was better. And since Sonic pretty much disregards her like he does Amy in every game, it's all good.

And Metal is just awesome. Quite possibly his best incarnation ever. He is greatly faster than Sonic, beat him the first time they fought, and likely would have done so the second time if not for Tails getting involved. And how about that kick Metal lands on Sonic, when he's upside down and rotates his whole body, except for his head, to execute it?

Oooh, she's the Elise of this ;D

That kick you described, I actually found more hilarious than actually cool and epic. Might've been how it was animated though!

I thought a lot of the film was hilarious. Sarah just seemed to be the comic relief character of it all, even though a lot of the film was goofy, I can never forget the way she tries to smack the hell out of Metal Sonic but does literally NOTHING against him. It kills me everytime.

But yeah, she's basically Elise. XP That's a way to look at it.

I like how Metal Sonic is portrayed in the film a lot though, as said! He's clearly superior to Sonic because of one thing; endurance. Sonic gets tired, albeit over a lot of time, whereas Metal Sonic does not. It's a fight that can go either way, and usually can and will fall into Metal's favor if there isn't any outside help. It's what makes the concept so amazing to me. In all seriousness though... yeah.

I love the OVA.

Sarah feels to me to be a replacement for Amy, more than anything else... but also allowing for Robotnick to be hitting on her... because let's be honest, if we think Sonic making on Elise is weird, what would we see Robotnick macking on Amy as? ;D

Honestly, the film itself isn't bad. It's outdated, filled with terrible voice acting and some really odd decisions [Knuckles why do you have a hat and sunglasses?]... but overall, it was enjoyable. I don't like the ending so much, as it felt more than a little forced but ultimately, it was good.

I liked the fact metal sonic actually posed a credible threat as well ;D

Let it all sink in for a few days, I do really think they should like reboot this in some way, bring it up to date with the animation techniques of now.
Cause I am pretty sure it would be so much better if it got polished up these days fkdjsfs

Oh hell yeah, I would love to see it redone. Sonic X style or CGI or something would be SWEET. LIKE HNNNNGHHH. I just hope they manage to make Metal Sonic look intimidating again; I mean recently Metal Sonic just looks... chibi and cute more than anything.

Kind of awkward when it's supposed to be such a MASSIVE threat in this film. Which is shown amazingly well.

I love this movie!! I like to sing the song Look-A-Like to my sister because she hates it but I sing it to annoy her LOL especially when she's drinking coffee in the morning, I would sing the part, "ON DIS PLANET, DRINKIN' MAH COFFEE!"♪

Sonic Boom's style of Metal Sonic just... irks me to no end. He doesn't look threatening in there.

...Maybe it's the lighting, though. Or the way he's portrayed outright. I mean for god's sake he's so slow and sluggish and... awkward in Boom.

But either way, maybe it would work. I personally don't think so, but aaa.

Either way yeah the songs are catchy as all hell~ c:

From what I've seen the game itself is somewhat slow, sluggish and awkward. Razz
