missbat's art

Post by missbat on Tue Dec 24, 2013 11:40 am

안녕. I guess I'll post some of my art here! Hehe, it's always kind of awkward to do this sort of thing. And since I'm on mobile atm it's quite literally awkward to get this to work. Anyway, here goes.. I'll try to resize them as to not blow up the page...

Ooh, you have some nice work here, though can I offer a wee bit of advice? You might wanna work a touch on giving some depth to your faces... It's not noticable on most works you've done, but on the odd one when you have a character stood at a 3/4 angle, their faces can seem oddly flat. For example, Shadow in this particular piece;

It's a good piece overall, but the nose and muzzle look as if they've been pushed up against his face to flatten it in. Might just wanna be careful of/look out for that in future as a way of furthering your work.

Ahh, thanks much for the advice! To be honest, I always have a really hard time drawing the hedgehogs. XD I especially dread drawing Sonic or Shadow. Do you have any advice on how better to draw them? Or rather, their faces?

Thanks!

@ Hyro -
Thank you so much! ;u; I was thinking of selling it as a print when I finished, but uh... it's been laying around as a sketch for about a year now. XD

@ Ultimate Tank -
Thank you very much!! <:

Unfortunately I'm not a particularly good artist myself, so technical advice is beyond me if it's anything more than vague 'this is what you should work on' type deals. The main thing though would be to, at the very least, attempt to angle the muzzle/nose down a wee bit to make things seem less flat.

Ah, I will work on that, thank you! XD I guess the best thing for me to do is reference official art on how the hedge faces work.
