Gourmet of choice: Twilight is both a carnivore and a frugivore. Almost any assortment of meat (preferably medium rare) or fruit will greatly satisfy him.

Beverage of choice: He always enjoys an all-natural, fruit flavored drink.

Appearance: Twilight stands at 3 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs 63 pounds with a moderate build. Short sky blue fur covers his entire body excluding his tan skinned arms. The Lycalo birthmark rests horizontally along the back of his right hand. Like most wolves, the length of his fur increases during the Winter months to provide additional warmth and also shortens slightly during the time of Summer. He has a pair of warm, comforting and highly expressive almond-shaped eyes with golden irises, black pupils and a glassy white sclera. His eyes are partly covered by his sky blue, quarter-lidded eyelids which can briefly become fully open if Twilight experiences any sort of surprise. Being a cross between a wolf and a bat, he has traits of both species excluding a pair of fangs and claws. For the wolf, he has 4 thick, arched and vertically positioned bangs that stick out of the middle of his forehead. The bangs all have different lengths with the uppermost one being the longest and each one below is slightly longer then the next. A round, jet black nose sits on the end of his broad, white furred muzzle. This flares out to the side at 6 different sections and each flare tappers off to a point. An ovular patch of white fur covers his stomach and chest region. He has a long and shaggy tail with a white tip that is typically carried in an arc. As for the bat; his fur spikes out into 6 thick, arched tufts of fur on the back of his head, looking somewhat like shoulder-length hair. Large and alert bat ears with tan inner areas are perked on the top of his head that give him an additional 6 inches in height. Lastly, a set of azure colored bat wings with tan inner areas, curved edges and no visible bone ridges protrude from his upper back. When he uses these wings, they lose their curved edges, which show his full wingspan of 4 feet. Both his tail and ears move varying on what emotion he feels. With his ears, things like happiness make them appear to perk up more, while sadness causes them to droop and hang low. They also have a tendency to twitch or fold back when he becomes irritated or frightened and often flap about in momentum. His tail sways side to side or curves upwards when he feels elated. When intimidated, his tail becomes erect and sticks straight outward.

Attire: He wears a pair of plain, yellow gloves with large sock-like cuffs that hide his birthmark. His choice of footwear consists of yellow shoes with large white socks and two white horizontal straps going across the top with white soles. Metallic silver buckles fasten these straps in place on the outer and inner sides of the shoes. He also wears a pair of orange pants which cover his socks and has his tail poking out of the back. Twilight refuses to wear any clothing for his upper body with how difficult his wings make it. Even if he were to remove the upper back out of a shirt, he states it's uncomfortable for the fur on his chest.

Alternate attires: There are 2 instances where Twilight will where something similar to his usual appearance only with a couple differences. In the cold temperatures of winter, his gloves will be switched with same colored mittens and snow boots that look similar to his shoes replaces his footwear. In addition to this, he wears a pair of dark blue ear muffs and an orange scarf. During the heat of summer, Twilight may be seen without his gloves along with wearing a pair of orange shorts and yellow sandals. If he's taking part in any sort of aquatic activity, his shorts are replaced with a pair of same colored swim trunks.

Abilities: Twilight's Lycalo heritage has granted him great advantages such as the following.

Flight: His most notable ability. He has learned to fly shortly after he learned how to walk. As such, he has incredible amounts of control while airborne. His wings are perhaps the strongest thing on his body. With the resilience in his wings, he can reach speeds up to 160 mph on average rather quickly for quite extensive amounts of time. His true top speed has shown to be roughly 300 mph, but such a speed wears his wings down far too quickly and prefers to use this speed for emergencies. He also has the ability to adapt to high altitude environments. He is able to withstand extremely high or low air pressure and isn't disoriented or deprived of normal breathing capacity by it as well as high wind friction, accompanied by an innate immunity to vertigo or fear of heights. His enhanced lung capacity assists with this. He has the ability to create small gusts of winds with a quick flap from his wings that would most likely knock an opponent off their feet at the most. His wings are also quite durable and can be used to wrap around his body for extra protection or even a melee strike by lashing them forward.

Enhanced hearing: With his large bat ears, Twilight has exceptional hearing and can hear with amazing clarity, distance, and even frequencies outside normal range. He can pick up every single sound, decipher layer upon layer of differing sounds or conversations and locate the source of the noise. He can focus his hearing to one specific area, or filter out everything but the wanted noise. Twilight also has the ability to utilize Echolocation. By generating sound waves from his mouth, the sounds bounce back and inform him of his surroundings. The sound waves only cover the area in front of him up to thirty yards out and can even be used to locate hidden or camouflaged targets.

Enhanced smell: He has the keen sense of smell of a wolf and can use this to detect specific persons, objects, substances or even places and track their origin with this keen sense alone. Because of curse within him, Twilight can use his nose to detect other Vampires or Werewolves, although he has difficulty doing so sometimes.

Night vision: Although his vision is only average, he can utilize Night Vision to see in a dark atmosphere or environment as though it were well-lit thanks to his wolf side. His eyes obtain a bright glow while this is activated.

Super hearing and smell: He can focus his hearing and smell and nearly double their ability. He must be motionless while doing this and must have absolute concentration on the sense. Only one sense can be focused at a time. His hearing can be improved to the point he can hear an individual's heartbeat within close proximity and be able to determine if they're lying or not. He listens for things such as a change in heartbeat and strain in voice to do this. His nose can detect lying too, as well as sickness and emotions by picking up what smells or hormones they secrete.

Umbrakinesis: Given his Lycalo heritage, Twilight is naturally granted the ability to manipulate darkness and shadows. However, given his initial dislike for this power, he has spent his life only forming orbs and other various shapes of the dark purple energy within either palm mainly out of curiosity, fascination and sometimes even boredom. He has recently learned to unleash these in projectiles and has become quite proficient with enough practice. They tend to be no larger than his fist and inflict a fair amount of damage. By placing his hands together and forming the energy in both palms, not only can he launch a projectile twice the size, but he can unleash a short lived and mid ranged continuous beam that has increased damage towards his target. His preferred method is slow and precise aiming and has been working to apply this to melee strikes. Although, these tend to be rather inaccurate and erratic if Twilight is frustrated and they have a noticeable increase in damage.

Pyrokinesis: An ability Twilight has recently come across. Within close proximity to Champ, the Chao is able to grant him the power to control fire. Twilight uses this ability identically to his Umbrakinesis by forming orbs, beams and other various shapes. While he cannot combine the two, he can use them in conjunction with each other by having fire in one hand and dark energy in the other.

Strengths: With his strong wolf legs, Twilight can reach speeds up to 60 mph and has the ability to run for many miles without tiring. He is naturally skilled swimmer, able to use his powerful legs and wings to propel himself at moderately fast speeds. His enhanced lung capacity mentioned above allows him to stay submerged for fair amounts of time. His Night Vision and Echolocation can be used to their full ability while underwater. He has a small amount of knowledge in the art of hand-to-hand combat which he combines with his acrobatic proficiency and increased agility. With all of his upgraded senses and his agility, Twilight can be quite stealthy at times and would make a difficult target to hit in a fight.

Weaknesses: Twilight is slightly claustrophobic. Small and cramped spaces aren't a problem for him, but if he can't stretch out his arms and/or legs fully, his mind can rapidly enter a state of panic. He has a bad tendency to act or speak without second thought, which can sometimes put him in troubled situations depending on the circumstances. Although his wings are durable, his inner wings cannot take much damage. Even a single weak strike can temporarily disable his wings and bring him pain. Twilight's overly sensitive bat ears are highly susceptible to loud or high-pitched sounds, which bring great pain to his ears and can instantly cripple him. The effects of this can double when concentrating his hearing. Other sounds may throw off his Echolocation's effectiveness. If roaming in a dark area with his Night Vision activated and he is exposed to sudden bright lights, his eyes don't have time to adapt to the quick change and this can blind him momentarily. His Night Vision also takes a few moments to reach full power and the darker an area is, the more time it takes to adapt which also means it takes the same amount of time to readjust to normal light. Despite being able to detect lying, he cannot not differentiate between a white lie and a secret. This power can be subconsciously blocked when around someone he trusts; say a best friend or a family member. Twilight is composed of dark energy which is the source of his Umbrakinesis. Because he hasn't learned how to minimize the toll it takes on his body, he can find himself easily worn out and can lose consciousness in a matter of moments if he's careless. Despite having a decent amount of knowledge in the art of hand-to-hand combat, Twilight's lack of both training and combat experience renders this almost useless. Anything spectacular he performs is most likely out of luck. He is also intimidated rather easily and will always attempt to flee a fight. Although since he has a desire to protect those he cares about from harm, the level of this weakness varies. His physical strength is average and while he isn't completely weak, his attack power is nothing incredible. Not only can he not deal much damage, he can't handle much either and it doesn't take much to incapacitate him. He obviously isn't a fighter and prefers to avoid confrontation altogether.

Transformations

Nightmare: Twilight may appear to be harmless and innocent; however, as the sun sets and lunar energy envelopes him, he takes on a monstrous form he calls Nightmare. It is a perfect combination of Vampire Bat and Werewolf. This transformation happens by a shadowy aura of dark energy shrouding his entire body and takes roughly 30 seconds to complete and is a rather bone crunching, painful experience.He becomes twice as tall and twice as heavy, meaning he now stands 7 feet tall and weighs 126 pounds. His ears are included with this and now give him an additional foot in height. All of his teeth become long and pointed with his upper canine teeth being more prominent. Claws form from each of his fingertips which also destroy the fingers of his gloves. His gloves turn red and the cuffs become jagged and ripped. His shoes turn red also and the straps and soles take on a dark gray color. The straps become metallic with 3 spikes adorning each of the tops in place of the buckles. His pants become purple and the bottom of the pant legs are torn, showing a small portion of his now ripped and jagged dark grey socks. His fur becomes long, shaggy and black excluding his gray skinned arms. His ears obtain a gray inner area and become triangularly curved and face outwards. The fur on his stomach, muzzle and the tip of his tail become a dark gray color. His now jet black wings with a gray inner area grow far larger and lose their curved edges, sporting a wingspan of 6 feet. They also become demonic in appearance; obtaining an almost reptilian-like look with four evenly separated spikes protruding from the bottom as well as an equal amount of visible bone ridges. His pupils and irises vanish and his eyes become a soulless glowing red. 

Twilight loses all intelligence in this form and speaks with grunts, growls and other primitive noises including his trademark high pitched howl. His voice turns deep and demonic as well and has a faint echoing effect to it. He enters a feral state of mind and possesses a primal and unstoppable rage. He typically attacks any living thing within sight, but around other monsters like himself, he will show a different kind of hostility, especially near prey. He will give them fair warning to back away with a variation of roars and growls before he resorts to violence. Nightmare lacks any other personality aspects aside from those and only has one objective; to feed his relentless hunger and he does so by relying on powerful predator instincts.

 His physical strength is increased tenfold and is able to dent thin metal with ease. Thicker materials take time to dent.  His speed with attacks he increased to the point they are almost impossible to detect and that combined with his strength can cause severe damage within a matter of seconds. With his teeth, he can take a nasty bite, able to effortlessly penetrate flesh and possibly damage bone. His lower jaw also gains the ability to unhinge for a more lethal and ranged bite. His highly durable claws are only moderately sharp, but it's his strength that makes them deadly. He can easily tear through timber but thicker materials such as steel and metal take more effort to cut through. His speed on foot and in flight are increased with the latter to a greater extent, meaning on foot he can reach 165 mph, and while flying, he can reach speeds up to 400 mph for seemingly limitless amounts of time. His wings can even be used to squeeze his prey to death. His skin becomes rock hard, granting him increased durability. Although a small amount of heavy attacks or several small ones can bring this monster down, the healing factor he has allows him to recover from injury rather quickly and survive fatal wounds. He must feed on blood to survive. As such, the more recent he feeds prior to an injury, the faster he heals. Wounds can heal almost instantly if he feeds while injured. He can survive mutilations so long as he doesn't bleed out or have his brain or heart removed. His senses are heightened dramatically as well, able to see, hear and smell far better than Twilight, allowing him to sense his prey from far distances. His Night Vision is replaced with Infrared Vision and his Echolocation is swapped with an ear-splitting Sonic Scream. He becomes a mindless beast who only has one objective and that is to feed his hunger. Not even the effects of garlic, silver, wooden stakes and items of Holiness do not affect him. Furthermore, Nightmare gains immunity from UV lights during a full moon.

This unstoppable monster does have a couple drawbacks. If he is deprived of blood and goes long enough without feeding his hunger, his body will begin to rapidly shut down and eventually enter a comatose state. Cold blood will severely poison him instantly. Being a mindless beast, he isn't much of a strategic fighter, preferring to quickly charge at a foe and overpower them with quick and deadly combos using his fangs and claws. This can put him at a disadvantage against experienced fighters. If enough evil is committed by this monster, Twilight will gain willpower strong enough to possibly control this beast for a short amount of time. This is more likely if loved ones are being attacked and the effects last longer. The hybrid's voice could even be heard in an echoing manner and he can inform any nearby characters to attack with no mercy. Exposure to the sun does not kill him but rather transform him to normal by shrouding him in a blinding white aura.

Night Terror: A being considered far more deadly than Nightmare. If Twilight endures unfathomable loss, despair or anger, his mind and body will give into the darkness he is composed of. Once this occurs, a creature identical to Nightmare is unleashed. The key differences however is that this cursed beast can be unleashed no matter the time of day, so UV lights and even sunlight have no effect. Additionally he is a highly intelligent, remarkably adept combatant with far more extensive Umbrakinetic abilities. He also gains a more sadistic personality, speaking only of blood, death and darkness. With this, he enjoys pain inflicted on both his foes and himself.

Instead of feeding on blood to survive, Night Terror solely focuses his attention on the ones who triggered the transformation, although blood remains a vital part of his strength. Once the source is vanquished, he will return to normal with one last high pitched howl. If Night Terror is unleashed for long enough, say a month, the transformation will become permanent by all means and he will initiate a campaign of endless destruction with all signs of the former Twilight gone forever.

Death: Twilight has the inability to die, at least permanently. He can die until his lifeless body is exposed to the moon. This will cause him to transform and his Night form will show no signs of injury or death prior to the transformation. Even through dismemberment, as long as his severed parts are within a close proximity they will pull themselves back together. This also means he does not require sleep and does not age. The same goes for his Nightmare as well; the only difference is exposure to solar energy.

Hobbies: Twilight always enjoys a morning flight to strengthen his wings. He also alternates to running to keep his legs strong as well and vice versa. This is how he expresses freedom from his curse.

Likes: One thing Twilight loves the most is the sun, especially when it's in the early morning. He enjoys putting his senses to good use as well as meeting new people.

Dislikes: If there's one thing Twilight absolutely despises is the dark secret that dwells within him. This represents everything he dislikes which includes senseless violence, death and any variations of the two.

Personality: Because Twilight never had much of a social life, he tends to be self-reserved and quiet, but this can swiftly change. Once he develops a friendship with someone, it's shown he has an outgoing and welcoming personality and is easy to get along with. He has a great sense of humor and enjoys joking around almost all the time, rarely missing an opportunity to make those close to him laugh. He is quite sarcastic and goofy along with this, but if the situation doesn't call for it, his demeanor can change almost instantly. Twilight primarily has trouble maintaining focus and interest on a single topic. He often multitasks and gets bored quickly unless the subject interests him greatly. He is moderately stubborn which he presents by politely rejecting those who try to help him. The reasoning for this is because he feels that if he accepts assistance, he's imposing on those helping him. This is also expressed by the fact he has troubling admitting things both positive and negative. Because of this personality aspect, Twilight will often find it difficult to answer yes or no to even the most simplest of questions and will frequently explain his answer or answer questions with other questions instead of answering it straightforward. This stubbornness is additionally presented through determination as once he begins a task, he'll finish it. Even tasks that require more than just himself will be attempted single handedly. He will only seek out help if it's much needed. Whether he's extremely lucky or clever, Twilight can almost always get his way out of bad situations and handles them calmly. Even when he finds himself in a predicament, he'll simply make the most of it and try and find a way past it. Twilight can usually sense when people are in negative moods and if he doesn't know them well enough, he instinctively becomes quiet around them and feels a sense of awkwardness. If they are familiar to him, he will do his best to lift their mood in any way he can. Additionally, he is very selfless and puts others before himself. He is also quite competitive a lot of the time in almost everything and can become quite cocky. While he sometimes briefly considers cheating his way to victory, he never actually does so. He refuses to admit to anyone, even himself, that he absolutely hates losing or to a lesser extent; being wrong or making mistakes. No sign of this is visible either and he will give friendly congratulations to those who bested him. He possesses well manners and has a tendency to act shy towards strangers. Twilight is a kind and soft hearted hybrid who finds good in just about anything or anyone. He is quite the passive optimist and is always looking at the positives and just going with things, even in the most bleak of moments and preferring not to get worked up about things. Because of this, it may seem like he doesn't care in some serious situations when in truth he does. The more serious of a situation, the more he tries to portray himself as such. He has a tenancy to be too apologetic sometimes, even when it's not necessary. He enjoys relaxing and hanging out and with his carefree demeanor, it takes a lot for him to lose his temper. When this limit is finally breached, Twilight's anger can be shown which simply comes off as frustration. At this point, he has a slight increase in the volume of his voice and becomes quite interrogative. This is evident by the change of color in his irises, where they'll become orange.  Beyond this is his true anger, shown when his eyes turn red, wherein he becomes loud and destructive, sometimes making threats and will resort to violence depending on the situation, especially if one were to hurt or disrespect those close to Twilight. He is a rather curious individual and he always likes to know what's going on around him, which is actually preferred as he's quite wary of the unknown. He's an honest and dependable Lycalo who always has a love for adventure. He has a desire to see the world and experience its wonders. He is far more concerned with the journey than the destination, and there often won't be a final destination.

Once he turned 18 and his curse unleashed itself, he was tormented by this curse and haunted by the blood of the innocent on his hands. He became overly meek and timid, constantly denying his actions under the form of Nightmare. After admitting to himself his own monstrous sins, he preferred to be anti-social and get close to no one for fear he might bring them harm. With his every attempt to confine himself at night lying in vain and remaining a puppet to the monstrosity, he eventually became insane with literally no care in the world whatsoever. Things reached a critical point and he was close to becoming severely insane and then suicidal.

Soon after his discovery he gradually returned to his old self, only now if the Sun starts to set and he is away from his home, he can become paranoid and stops at nothing to make his return. Now aware of his Lycalo bloodline, he has become proud of his heritage despite holding the curse and his people's ways. Because of his past transgressions, Twilight is hesitant about large social gatherings and prefers brief interactions within a small group. If in a crowded area, more prominently inside a building, he can quickly enter a state of panic which worsens the closer it is to nightfall. He has lost some confidence in himself and while he does remain optimistic, it isn’t shown as often. This can lead to him giving up on a task, sometimes very easily. He remains passive, but if anything involves his curse, he’ll jump to the extreme opposite in a matter of seconds. Twilight has become hesitant about becoming attached to people for fear he may bring them harm. If he feels as if he's about to hurt those close to him, he may become unresponsive and act in a matter that pushes them away. He now has a bad tenancy to hide his emotions. No matter how severe they are, he will portray himself normally and will never give any indication of anything that's troubling him. Once he finds himself overwhelmed with emotion, he prefers to be alone and will even be rude to loved ones to do so. Apologies will most likely be made to anyone he’s hurt once he collects himself. He also has a constant fear the beast within him is waiting to be unleashed once again and he will do everything in his power and beyond to prevent that. Although the older he gets and the less of Nightmare he sees as well as the increasing amount of control he has over his curse, Twilight has become less and less wary about his dark half, sometimes even using him as a shallow threat. His need to make it home before dark has become gradually less severe and deep inside, he hopes to gain some control over the power Nightmare has to protect those close to him.


Backstory: Twilight is born from the race of wolfbat creatures known as Lycalos. His parents, Lance and Vivian, were friends since their days as children and always disliked the ways of their kind. They wanted a whole new generation of peace loving Lycalos and they were determined in their task. With their lifelong friendship becoming more intimate, they made their home in Westopolis and the first order of business was giving birth to their one and only son, Twilight, which was a rare feat of their kind. They both became a part of the Police unit in Westopolis, putting the skills they learned to good and legal use. The couple strived to raise their son to live a normal and happy life. Twilight did moderately well in his classes as a young Lycalo and never came across any real problems, although it seemed he traded a social life for his accomplishments. He always happily came home to his parents much to the pleasure of Lance and Vivian, who believed they were successful in their goal.

After graduating from a Westopolis High School at age 17, Twilight earned a scholarship to a Station Square Community College through a program his parents helped him enroll in. He wished to pursue his dream and obtain a career in Criminal Justice where he can put his abilities to good use. He wished his parents a hearty farewell and moved out to Station Square. His parents provided him with enough money for various school supplies and a small dingy house on the outskirts of the city. This was how he started and would begin to work his way up. He wished to have a comfortable life and be successful in his career. A few months later on the night of his 18th birthday, he got the surprise of his life when the Lycalo curse unleashed itself upon him and his reign of terror began as the new holder of the curse. Twilight was terrified by his own feat the next morning upon returning to normal. He was born pure of soul, the exact opposite of his new "other self." He found his way back home where he began pondering about his predicament. Twilight strived every night to keep the beast concealed by bonding himself with various tools he found in the streets such as chains and cinderblocks. Every effort was futile and night after night, people were dying by his hands.

After half a year of this carnage, the area around his house was empty from people fleeing and his seemingly endless hunger, so he began attacking the more populated parts of the city. Even the military's best efforts were futile. Things grew bleakest and the wolfbat was prepared to take his own life for the better of the world. One fateful night shortly before the moon rose, Twilight used the very tools he obtained to hang himself. He died happy knowing his curse was over and people were free from the living nightmare. A smile even fixed on his muzzle as he drew his last breath. Much to his extreme dissatisfaction, the moonlight glowed onto him and his body still attained the shadowy dark purple aura. Nightmare was unleashed and unrestrained itself to run amok. The next morning, a very alive Twilight was highly perplexed on the events that transpired. After realizing death would not bring him peace, his already severe insanity increased exponentially. Experiencing death multiple times resulted in life no longer having meaning. He no longer cared about his sins and did not even attempt to stop the monster. He would always find his way back home and remain motionless throughout the entire day, waiting for the inevitable Nightmare.

There was a glimmer of hope however. One day he discovered from an anonymous informant that exposure to ultraviolet light may return him to normal. Night was soon upon the hybrid as he frantically searched anywhere that may have an ultraviolet lamp of some sorts. With most of the stores being abandoned, it made things a whole lot easier. All his regained hoped began to diminish, when suddenly he came across a store with a vast collection of fluorescent black light tubes. They were rather large, and the Lycalo was only able to grab four. Once he made it to his residence, he did not hesitate to place them around the house. He sat on the floor with the four UV lights on all sides of him. Time grew short and the sky began to blacken. The UV light gleamed on him as he watched the moon rise over the horizon. The moment of truth was upon him and he awaited the transformation. After what felt like an eternity, the hybrid let out a long sigh of relief. His curse no longer tortured him and he was free.

A week after he freed himself from the Nightmare, he traced himself back early in the morning to where he was raised. He tracked his parents down who remained in the same residence upon his departure and informed them what had happened to him. Lance and Vivian were surprised beyond all reason and hesitantly informed their young son of his Lycalo heritage. After obtaining this knowledge, Twilight bid farewell to his parents and set off back to his residence wishing not to be close to them for fear harm may come their way. He reached his home far before sunset where he continued his typical routine. Twilight used the leftover money that was supposed to be used for his schooling to maintain his house, but it eventually ran short and he was close to losing it. He got a visit one day from a Police Chief who was long aware of the Lycalo’s past misdeeds. Expecting an arrest, Twilight was actually requested assistance in using his duo of powerful senses to track down criminals that were far more difficult to find than normal. If he refused, his initial assumption would be a reality, so the wolfbat accepted. With no more death on his hands, Twilight began slowly regaining his sanity and gradually opened up to people again. His part of town returned to normal after the denizens realized a threat was no longer upon them. Twilight has even recently been able to afford installing UV lights within his residence to remove any potential problems. The fear of Nightmare returning still occasionally creeps up on him as well and he will work with all his might to never allow the vile beast freedom of any kind. He has gone on numerous adventures, making multiple wonderful friends and even meeting a very special someone, but has unfortunately come across a number of malevolent enemies. Nightmare has become less and less of a worry as time passes, even with him being unleashed every now and then. While Twilight doesn't work often, he has lived a peaceful life for about 2 and a half years now and he couldn't be happier despite some of the hardships he goes through.
